I must comment first on your wonderful spinning in of sci-fi elements and also of some of the great sci-fi classics into your works.

With that said, I got the distinct impression here of a bit of that 'Callahan Touch'... particularly at the ending.

Like Callahan's and it's successor Mary's Place, those who need The Bear Market will find it.

btw... I would love to see a story which has Mike Callahan and Jake Stonebender visiting Bob Arnold's Cybercafe... maybe the day before Callahan's is 'nuked'... (where does a bartender go to shed his problems?...  kind of a passing the torch from Mike to Jake)

Dear Ms. Smith: Aw... very sweet... what else can I say? Lots of potential for this new "Bear Market" universe. I am also pleased that there was no "forced feminization" or "identity death." I look forward to reading more of your work, and certainly to reading more "Bear Market" stories. Wouldn't mind reading more about Shelly and her daughters either. (and as you might think from my "alias,"  of course I hope you'll put some cheerleaders in future tales) By the way, your name-- Valentina Michelle Smith-- is that perhaps a tribute to STRANGER IN A STRANGE LAND? Keep up the great work and I'll see you at the next story!
