Re-read this after a long time. As a story it is good, but certainly cruel and unethical in the treatment of David.

I wonder how stable a mind really is? It might be that after awhile David's brain would start to adjust and become a babies brain. How would they then explain everybody that they have an adult David with the intelligence of a baby?

Or what would they have done to either David or the real Amy, if David's vacated body would have a seizure and died? They couldn't put two brains into one body. Would they wait for a braind death patient or simply destroy the file - that is David's brain (after letting Amy back into her baby body).

I'm reminded of the various Teen Torture^H^H^H^H^H^H^HSpecialty Programs for Wayward Young, and other situations where the villain has absolute power over the subject.  The Stockholm Syndrome wins again.

As soon as i was back up to speed, I would kill everyone who had a part in this cruel experiment.

Good story though.

<<  'But you mentioned ethics ... Up until now we've avoided such a moral dilemma by only using willing subjects ...  >>

I think David was the one who proved at least part of his point.  So much for Angela and her dad's fine talk about ethics.  When the moral dilemma came, an unwilling subject, they opt for the immoral:  They not only switch him against his will but they mess with his mind - "Dad's made a few adjustments to your memory patterns..." - to boot.

The importance of reader feedback cannot be overstated.   Authors rely on it to improve their future works, and it gives them the incentive to write more stories if they know that their hard work has been appreciated.  I am not saying that comments must all be lauditory.  Authors often appreciate honest, constructive criticism over simple remarks like 'Great story', although simple praise is appreciated also.  There is no limit on how much you can enter in the 'comments' box.   Sentences will automatically word wrap at the end of the line so please do not use your carriage return/enter key except at the end of your paragraphs.
