It's good to see a small story so well done. Small in physical scope and plot, it inhabits that universe in which we spend our lives.

We live with little details, small victories and small challenges, against which we play out the larger issues of our lives.

This one is real and true.

Well done, NiGHTs.

I don't usually read very short stories, and probably miss a few gems, like this one, as a result.  A simple idea, with just the right amount of wry (as opposed to laugh out loud) humour, and nicely written, makes this a story to brighten up your day.  I'd have liked one or two extra commas to clarify the meaning in a few places,  but nothing serious.  I loved it.  Thanks for cheering my morning :o)

The importance of reader feedback cannot be overstated.   Authors rely on it to improve their future works, and it gives them the incentive to write more stories if they know that their hard work has been appreciated.  I am not saying that comments must all be lauditory.  Authors often appreciate honest, constructive criticism over simple remarks like 'Great story', although simple praise is appreciated also.  There is no limit on how much you can enter in the 'comments' box.   Sentences will automatically word wrap at the end of the line so please do not use your carriage return/enter key except at the end of your paragraphs.
