A wonderful story, I was captivated and read it all in one burst. You really managed to convey a realistic feeling with all the scenes, and there were only a few areas where my immersion was broken.

These areas can be split up into three categories. The first is simple spelling and syntax mistakes, which could be easily remedied in future work with a bit more editing. The second is jarring scene transitions. This comes up especially when Bobbie is in San Francisco. Speaking of my hometown, the third thing that broke my immersion was when you referred to it twice by the word "Frisco". No one who lives here or has spent more than a day or two here has used the word since 1860, if ever. It would be much more natural to just say the whole thing, San Francisco, when you need to be specific, and otherwise just say the city, or the Bay Area.

I want to try and say this as kindly as I can.  I think your writing ability is great.  The first half of this story was captivating even though Bobby(ie's) Aunt Mary was disturbed by her loss of her real daughter.  Turning an 8 year old boy into a girl for her own pleasure was selfish and cruel.  However, in the mist of this there was a good story line with Laura and the other girls and school.  I personally have a tender heart for all people and I was disturbed with the "dark" side of this involving "Mike" and others and what they did to sweet Bobby.   I was pleased to see that Bobby got home safely and returned to a "normal" life.  Wondering what long term effects his being abused would have on him/her.  Again, you do have a great writing ability and I would like to see more stories without the "dark" side of life.

This is a GREAT story!  Two comments, though:

While this story had a happy ending, but it is all based on the fact that a selfish woman stole a young boy's life away from him.  Bobby might have had just as happy a life or happier than Bobbie.  In the end, Aunt Mary really didn't give a damn about the child, only about what she wanted, and used his need for love and affection to brainwash him to her specifications.  I don't think what she would have done had he failed to "adjust" would have been pleasant.  In a way, Aunt Mary is as bad as Mike.

I think Bobbie was/is making a big mistake, particularly after her return from Helen's, in not revealing to Aunt Janet and her  girlfriends her true story.  The chances of it coming out later, after a medical emergencie for example, and hurting loved ones is too great.

This story another fine one by one of the premier writers on this site is one I will remember for a long time. Jacki, has the ability to keep the reader spellbound, by giving very good descriptive details with a way of constructing her story that I wish I could emulate. The way she brings a small boy to adult hood is just what it should be with a story plot like she has written. I thourghly enjoyed the trials, and tribulations, that her main character, had to endure. And the final outcome of her transformation into a beautiful girl was well worth the time I took to read it. Jacki is one of the top 4 authors I would not have trouble reading without going anywhere else. Just keep writing Jacki.

I think you are a very good story teller. This one had it all TGism, romance, pathos, menace etc.. All that and a happy ending. I loved it Thank you

The importance of reader feedback cannot be overstated.   Authors rely on it to improve their future works, and it gives them the incentive to write more stories if they know that their hard work has been appreciated.  I am not saying that comments must all be lauditory.  Authors often appreciate honest, constructive criticism over simple remarks like 'Great story', although simple praise is appreciated also.  There is no limit on how much you can enter in the 'comments' box.   Sentences will automatically word wrap at the end of the line so please do not use your carriage return/enter key except at the end of your paragraphs.
