Hmm.  It started off as a simple TG but rapidlt twisted into a forced transformation.  It will be interesting to  see how joan'john reacts to all that is happening.  What about his family?  Or his friends?  Your writing is easy to read and flows very well.  I will be axious till I can see the next chapter. I am sure that others will be also. This is a good start. I hope you can keep this quality for the remaining chapters.

Wow, offer him a choice, but when he hesitates to make the "right " choice, drug him and make it for him.  Nasty ladies, but sort of like US foreign policy :-)

Here's a true story that sort of ties in with yours:  In 1908, president Theodore Roosevelt , having decided not to run for reelection, called William Howard Taft and his wife Helen into his office.  He said,  "Billy, you can be Chief Justice or President.  which do you want to be?  Simutaneously, William, who really didn't want the hassles of the presidency, said, "Chief Justice" and Helen said, "President"!  Guess which one Billy became in 1909.  (In 1921, President Harding did appoint him Chief Justice, but that was long after Mrs. Taft had made sure she got to be what SHE wanted, First Lady.)

The importance of reader feedback cannot be overstated.   Authors rely on it to improve their future works, and it gives them the incentive to write more stories if they know that their hard work has been appreciated.  I am not saying that comments must all be lauditory.  Authors often appreciate honest, constructive criticism over simple remarks like 'Great story', although simple praise is appreciated also.  There is no limit on how much you can enter in the 'comments' box.   Sentences will automatically word wrap at the end of the line so please do not use your carriage return/enter key except at the end of your paragraphs.
