Comment by Davina on 03/20/14 Absolutely perfect. If you're not a professional author already you should show this story to a publisher immediately. It is so real and I loved all fifteen sections of it. You are as delightful writing as Catherine is acting. You deserve an Oscar too. Comment by Luke Jacob on 11/14/11 Wow!!! I almost got fired because of Catherine Lawrence. I couldn't even focus on what I was working on. Your characters are so alive that I, myself, couldn't help but fall for the charms of Cate. Even her transition has enlightened me on issues regarding identity and the fact that love transgresses the bounds of gender. Comment by Catherine Robertson on 07/06/11 Absolutley terrible story. How dare you write such a "short" story!!! I read the entire story in one setting and went through about 1/2 a box of kleenex. I have read an absolute plethora of stories over the years and yours is easily as intersting and entertaining as ANY story I've ever read. Character development, empathy, emotional roller coaster and on and on... As I said at the beginning, terrible in that it had to end so soon! Comment by Silvia (from Brazil) on 06/17/11 Hi Carmenica. Comment by Sayge on 07/02/10 One of the strongest characters and plots I have read on this site. Your story hooked me from the first line until the end. Comment by Vivien on 03/07/10 I was browsing through all the stories and found this one again. I just had to reread it remembering having read it long ago. I think that this is one of those stories that can be read again and again without growing tired of it! Even though I have read it a couple of times before I find myself absolutely glued to it while searching for the tissues so that I can continue reading. It's that well written and that captivating! Comment by lynne on 10/29/08 God i cried!!!! havent left the computer since i started reading it. my eyes are red and puffy, mascara all down my cheeks, what a mess. Comment by Dianne Renee Wright on 03/21/08 Super, super, super writing! I can't express how much I loved this series of stories. I don't think I've cried and laughed and appreciated ANY story on this site as much as I have these. I wish the author much success in the future. Comment by Vivien on 12/25/07 Wow! This is one of those Kleenex stories. Very enjoyable and lovely. Please do not stop writing ok? Comment by Briar on 10/16/07 Dear Carmenica, Comment by antonia on 02/23/07 Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful. There is nothing else to say. Comment by DeeDee Clark on 08/29/04 I think I have read this wonderful story ten times and each time had a tear in my eye(s). Very emotional. Very well done. Beautifully brought to a wonderful ending. Comment by Maria Ski on 05/01/04 Well where does a person start...? Comment by David on 04/21/04 I'm not really into 'TG' but once I started to read this story I couldn't stop! it only takes one word to describe it Comment by JCASPER on 04/19/04 MOST ENGLISH STORIES TEND TO STRAY TO THE BORING SIDE,BUT THIS STORY WAS SO WELL WRITTEN EACH CHAPTER LEFT YOU WANTING THE NEXT. IT COULD HAVE BEEN 30 CHAPTERS AND I WOULD STILL BE LOKING FOR MORE...THANKS Comment by Mat on 04/16/04 I've just read this from go to whoa! I couldn't stop! This has to be the greatest TG story I have ever read, the characters are so alive, you know them, they become your friends! Comment by Angel O'Hare on 03/27/04 Now that your great story is completed what are your plans? Comment by V.M. WIlliams on 03/25/04 The best I have read in a while!!! I waited till all 15 chapters where done before I started reading it and I am glad I waited! Comment by Annie L on 03/25/04 Many many thanks Carmenica for a such a great story. Wonderfully crafted with very believable characters and great storyline. I waited impatiently for each episode to be posted and was never disappointed. Comment by deedee clark on 03/22/04 WONDERFUL BEAUTIFUL TEAR JERKER THREE PLUS KLEENEX LOVED IT Comment by jillmarie on 03/22/04 Very, very nice story. Top 5 in all that I've read. I was pinging storysite everyday hoping for the next episode. A few too many typos, but great none the less. Thanks for your story and please keep writing! Comment by Sharonn on 03/22/04 I waited until the end to comment but I knew it would hold together. This is really the best I've ever read. I have been reading TG fiction since I knew it existed and I can say it with years of experience. Please don't rest on your well deserved laurels, just write us another at least half as good. Comment by Jezzi Stewart on 03/22/04 I love a happy ending. What a great 15 chapter ride! Comment by Carmenica Diaz on 03/21/04 Thanks so much for all the compliments, although I'm not really sure I deserve them. Comment by Samantha on 03/21/04 Dear Carmenica, Comment by Pervette on 03/21/04 I'm not generally very good at long stories. But yours grabbed me Comment by Eve on 03/21/04 I deliberatly wailed until the end to comment, as I knew from your "preface" that it would just be just 15 episodes and that you would not waste much time in getting them posted. And you did what you said you would. I have read the other comments, and everyone loved the story. (Even the guy who kept correcting your typos and technical errors loved it as a story.) And now that it is finished - my comment: It was great, I loved it too, I love Cate and I can't wait for more from you. Don't keep me (and all your other fans) waiting too long. Please. One question - Cate and her friends all seem very British, but your name does not suggest yourself being British. Could it be that your "pen name" is deliberately trying to hide your real background? Horrors! But I loved it and love you for wtiting it. Please give us many more. Comment by Andy on 03/21/04 i throughly loved the story i liked the way it ended, i would like to see you do more. I was always waiting for the next chapter to come out. Comment by Trebor54 on 03/21/04 This has got to be one of the best T.G. stories I've ever read. I hope you continue with the same style of writing with Catherine or another person. Thanks. Comment by Misty Dawn on 03/21/04
Comment by anonymousOne on 03/21/04 carmenica diaz, Comment by Angel O'Hare on 03/21/04 Ms Diaz, a wondrous tale and an even more wondrous ending! Cate had to be as you portrayed her, as a naturaly gifted and very beautiful actress to have won awards her first year. She was also a wonderfuly human person with qualities few posses. Comment by Amy Rose on 03/21/04 I just felt I wanted to write again to say how lovely the ending was and how much I've enjoyed the story. It bought a tear to my eye in the final chapter ^_^ Comment by Briar on 03/21/04 Carmenica, Comment by Jane Hudson on 03/21/04 Oh my dear so sweet an end. It made me cry it was so sweet. Love the whole story such a lovely loving story well done. Comment by Rich on 03/21/04 Well there you have all 15 chapters. Was I expecting a happy ending? Of course, weren't you? You did a very good job dear. You deserve all the cudoes listed here. Take a while and wallow in the limelight for a bit. Remember, now that you have such a great story under your belt your fans are going to be eager for more. Here's hoping that your next project is just as successful as this one has been, somehow I think it will even surpass it. Congratulations, you did good! Sincerely: Rich. Comment by chrisl on 03/20/04 Hi Carmenica, Comment by Francine on 03/20/04 Hi Carmenica :) Comment by Diane on 03/16/04 This continues to be a lovely story. Yes, Cate needs SRS and wants it, even if she won't admit it yet. This wonderful story needs to be prolonged. Cate should wait several episodes before she has the inversion. This story is like making love. Don't rush, enjoy the feeling and the journey. Getting there is half the enjoyment. Comment by Jezzi Stewart on 03/16/04 After part 12: Comment by Rose on 03/14/04 Yet another fantasic part. Can't wait for the next. Comment by Jane Hudson on 03/11/04 Just keeps getting better go for it Comment by Prudence Walker on 03/11/04 A TRUELY WONDERFUL STORY. I told many in the chatroom about your great story. as you can see by the many wonderful comments, you have a winner here. the sort of story i love to read. deserving of the highest praise and encouragement to write more. huggles from another new fan prue Comment by chrisl on 03/10/04 Hi Carmenica, Comment by anonymousOne on 03/10/04 carmenica, Comment by Amy Rose on 03/10/04 I'm not sure how much I can say that hasn't already been said, but I feel I must add my comment away. One of the most lovely stories I have read in a long time, I would be more than happy to have bought it in book form and love getting it for free.. now keep putting out those chapters! faster! faster! :) Comment by Angel O'Hare on 03/10/04 Yes, she continues to improve with every chapter! Now, who out there will volunteer to help this new star of the written word proof her work in the future? Comment by Mickey on 03/10/04 Just read Chapter 8 - sensational! I didn't think it possible but this is getting better! I'm beginning to suspect that you, dear Carmenica, have some extensive experience in the theatre *wink* Comment by Jimmy on 03/09/04 Bloody well done! Comment by Rose on 03/09/04 Great story and one that makes you keep coming back to read the next part. Comment by Mickey on 03/09/04 I just started this, it's great! Comment by jimmyinwhite on 03/09/04 Catherine Lawrence is going to be one of the best stories that i have read. right up there with "i can't go home like this". Comment by Angel O'Hare on 03/09/04 I have another must read author! The one and only Carmenica Diaz! Comment by Rich on 03/09/04 You have a wonderful feel good kind of story going here. And from what I have read so far, a real hit. I first heard of this when some friends were raving about it last night in Crystal's Chat Room. Since I trust my friends' opinions of what is good fiction, I decided to 'give it a go,' I can assure you I was not disappointed. Comment by Angel O'Hare on 03/07/04 After part 6...Wonderful, you got it girl! Now kill us with the rest! Comment by Jezzi Stewart on 03/07/04 I just read parts 1-6 straight through. GREAT STORY! As an actor both drab and femme, I can appreciate that part of the story. I'm looking forward to parts 7-15 Comment by Francine on 03/06/04 OH!!! Carmenica :) Comment by riottgrrl on 03/03/04 Once again, I have to agree with Jimmy. You can use a spray adhesive like Hollister 7730 on the back of the form and it will hold for a couple of days, but it does get uncomfortable, especially in summer. The best adhesive remover has an odor that is hard to hide. Comment by jim on 03/03/04 This is a great story! The only problem that i have with a wonderful story like this is waiting for the next installment, and then it is finished and i want more so the waiting starts again until you find another excellent story. Comment by James on 03/03/04 I must admit I have only a passing interest in TG stories but I do love the theatre and you have enthralled me so far. Comment by Me on 03/03/04 Fucking told you it was a great story. Comment by Sylvia on 03/03/04 I love this story and I hope it keeps going. Comment by Jimmy on 03/02/04 Still going strong! Comment by chrisl on 03/02/04 Hi Carmenica, Comment by Jane Hudson on 03/02/04 My dear this story just keeps getting better you have my dear just hit the spot right on it.Keep up the great work Comment by Diane on 03/02/04 This is a delightful story. It is similar to another titled "No Half Measures" that I thoroughly enjoyed. This tale is starting and has the opportunity to have many twists and turns. Those of us who live vicariously through these stories are most appreciative and very dependent on good stories. Please continue and please don't leave us hanging like many writers do. Beginning a story and publishing it is like a promise. It has to be finished. We look forward to your next episode. Comment by Wendy on 03/02/04 I agree with the other reviewers, this has gotten off to such a great start I’m a little anxious about how it will continue. If it continues at the same pace, same character development and plot twists, Carmenica will rightfully gain a reputation as one of the great TG writers! Comment by anonymousOne on 03/01/04 Carmenica Diaz, Comment by Julie Michelle on 03/01/04 It's so wonderful -- you literally have me on the edge of my seat waiting for the next chapter! Every word moves the story forward with depth of characters and plot twists keeping the reader totally involved with Cate and her voyage! Please hurry up with the rest of it. Comment by EileenJeanne on 03/01/04 Hi Carmenica Comment by Francine on 02/29/04 Hi Carmenica :) Comment by Jane Hudson on 02/29/04 Still a great story and getting better .I think Belinda gave Richard a bit of a kicking in the past when he tried it on am I correct. More please keep up the great work. Comment by Angel O'Hare on 02/29/04 After Part Three Comment by Toni on 02/29/04 What a wonderful story, it has me crying already, and that usually means that I am quite happy. True, as others have mentioned, it has some inaccuracies, breast development is slow, I wore posts only for several months after my piercing, etc. But this is fiction, and the author is allowed some license. Your story is more realistic than many others I have read on this site. So keep up the good work girl, and I'll be anxiously awaiting to read the rest of Cate's adventures. Comment by vladd on 02/29/04 Hola Carmenica, Comment by Jimmy on 02/29/04 I see in several of the comments some points about research. The details do matter. The small details do mater and that is where research is important. From part one and part three, there are implications that perhaps Christopher has some hormone dysfunction. But it isn't really explored as it should have been. Overall, I think your story is quite good, and you have me hooked so far. Comment by jimmyinwhite on 02/29/04 i love this story about a talented but snubbed actor {chris}. becoming a talented actress & loyal friend {cate}. i'm looking forword to reading more about bel & cate. i get the feeling that cate will have more friends than chris ever did. i wish that i could be one of cates friends but we don't live in the same world. Comment by Jane Hudson on 02/27/04 Just great love it great story Comment by riottgrrl on 02/26/04 This is a thoroughly endearing story, but I do belive you could go into greater detail and still keep your storyline interesting. I'm almost afraid you will run through your plot too soon. You could elaborate things more. Comment by Nomad on 02/26/04 I enjoyed part 2 even more than part 1. I believe that this story does rate with 'I Can't Go Home Like This!' and 'No Half Measures'. Comment by Angel O'Hare on 02/26/04 After reading part two. Comment by Angel O'Hare on 02/26/04 After reading part one. Comment by chrisl on 02/26/04 Hi Carmenica, Comment by Kay on 02/26/04 Part 2 is great although short? Maybe I'm eager to get onto it. I think the standard is consistent and the characterisation is fantastic! Comment by anonymousOne on 02/25/04 Carmenica Diaz, Comment by Sherie on 02/25/04 I really enjoyed this first part and I want more! Please post! Comment by Martyn on 02/25/04 Most stories have been done before, and yes, this is another version but it is a stylish beginning. To be fair to the author, she does mention Tootsie in the story so there is no attempted subterfuge. Comment by Jimmy on 02/24/04 Yes, the story has been done before. And the concept isn't entirely true. There are plenty of short pretty men in Hollywood with very successful careers. But that aside, this is a well written story that draws the reader inside. I did see a couple of typos, but they were very minor, his instead of her and a repeat of his (his his.) I am surprised that your word processor didn't catch the repeat. You may want to see if your word processor is checking for those types of errors. Comment by Andrea Foster on 02/24/04 This story is off to a very promising start. The basic theme has been done before of course (not least in "Tootsie"), but this rendering is well-written, and certainly drew me in nicely. I look forward eagerly to future episodes. Comment by Marriane on 02/24/04 A great start! I'm also pleased that you say you've written the entire story before beginning to post - that's great news! I've found that some stories that are posted a sthe author writes each part, sometimes tend to fizzle out. I have high hopes for this one. Comment by Vivienne on 02/24/04 Good start, could be a great story. I'm looking forward to the rest and soon. Comment by Diane on 02/24/04 Well done! I am eagerly awaiting future installments. Comment by Nomad on 02/24/04 Mmmm-hmmm. More please! Comment by Jean on 02/24/04 More, I'm looking forward to more! Great characters, characters that I recognise which is either good or scarey! Comment by Stephen on 02/24/04 Okay, the scene is set, I'm settling in for the story. Well written, by the way and I'm a little hooked. |

The importance of reader feedback cannot be overstated. Authors rely on it to improve their future works, and it gives them the incentive to write more stories if they know that their hard work has been appreciated. I am not saying that comments must all be lauditory. Authors often appreciate honest, constructive criticism over simple remarks like 'Great story', although simple praise is appreciated also. There is no limit on how much you can enter in the 'comments' box. Sentences will automatically word wrap at the end of the line so please do not use your carriage return/enter key except at the end of your paragraphs. It is not necessary to use your real name here, and, email addresses are optional. Posting your email address will allow the author to thank you for taking the time to post your comments, and/or discuss critiques and address possible concerns. Be forewarned that abusive remarks and language will be removed, and the posters may be banned from this AND other areas of StorySite. |
