Wow. This was actually mostly your life? I only wish it was mine. Great bio. The important thing is you are you and that is all anyone can ask. Be the best you and that is your best.

This is as far as I am aware, out of hundreds of stories that I have read on this site, about the only writer that has made almost no spelling or grammatical errors; please keep up the good work with more stories.

Donna Dee,

I just read this three-part story, and accept at face value that it is 95% true. I hope that the parts that are not true are the premature and tragic deaths that you describe. These tragic occurances reinforce the morals of your story that 1) love conquers all, and 2) life is short and there is not a precious minute to waste. Thank you for sharing your story.

I enjoy your writing and am glad to see that you have posted additional stories since you wrote "Creating Donna".

Take care.

After part 3:
Your sister and your wife were so heated up by your dressing that they were constantly checking on you over the course of 26 years to make sure you weren't?  And for 26 years your wife was more loyal to Beryl than to you and made it her top priority that you didn't dress?  Then, after Beryl died and Pam talked you into dressing again, your wife just did a 180o flip and became an active and entusiastic participant?  Then you "married" a man and she didn't object ?  You didn't mention a divorce.  WOW!  If you hadn't told us all that this was your real story, I would say it's about the most unrealistic story I've read.  Talk about truth being stranger than fiction!  Anyway, I'm glad you are at least enjoying your womanhood now.  You go, GIRL!

A lovely sweet & gentle story of how a young boy comes to experience his feminine side.  The fact that it is autobiographical makes it even more charming

Wow.  Is this really your True story, Donna?  You really had a mom who had so little understanding of children that she hadn't a clue of the hell that what would have happened to you if you had been recognized by your peers?  (Your writing makes it pretty clear she loved you, so I'm assuming she wouldn't have done it if she had.)  Making you wear a suit like that for the wedding when she knew your friends would be in the chior and see you was bad enough, but you didn't say if you actually did get flack for that.

Extremely good memoir that really hits home. Eager to read more.

The importance of reader feedback cannot be overstated.   Authors rely on it to improve their future works, and it gives them the incentive to write more stories if they know that their hard work has been appreciated.  I am not saying that comments must all be lauditory.  Authors often appreciate honest, constructive criticism over simple remarks like 'Great story', although simple praise is appreciated also.  There is no limit on how much you can enter in the 'comments' box.   Sentences will automatically word wrap at the end of the line so please do not use your carriage return/enter key except at the end of your paragraphs.

It is not necessary to use your real name here, and, email addresses are optional.  Posting your email address will allow the author to thank you for taking the time to post your comments, and/or discuss critiques and address possible concerns.
