A rather different story to most but still well worth reading. how sweet it was that Melissa had very supportive parents. My only gripe is that you could have continued the story further. Well done.

Phrases like "smoking aspect" in the previous comments, and the brand conscious smoking fetisher who liked their appearance in the story dissuaded me from reading it at first. If smoking is your thing, you can get your SlimV's by the carton over on Big Closet and wherever else his stories are posted. For the rest of us...let's just say the consequences of his being caught smoking are different from those of his being caught in his mother's dress. And, when you discover WHY his family is so supportive, you just might go "Oh, no wonder..."

TINA, THIS TALE DEFINITELY IS ONE FOR THE BOOKS. MARTY GETS CAUGHT DRESSED AS A GIRL AND SMOKING, AND HIS PARENTS ARE MAD ST HIM FOR SMOKING!! FOR THAT HE IS GROUNDED. HIS CROSS-DRESSING TURNS OUT TO BE A FAMILY THING. THE TALK HE HAS WITH DAD IS JUST THE SORT THAT YOU WOULD HAVE IN REAL LIFE. MY QUESTION IS WHERE IS JOAN? WILL THEY JOIN M.I.B.D.?

Loved the story, especially the Virginia Slims.

Surprises indeed!  I suspect nearly every reader will quickly catch on to what is happening when it becomes obvious that the father is determined to focus on the smoking aspect. However, what could have become a simple little enlightened humaneness keeps on opening into a better and better situation.

I agree that a follow-up of the support group party might prove very interesting. On the other hand, getting Marty prepped for such an outing with older people might be an interim chapter of its very own.

Would it be insightful to have the party told in the first person by one or all of the little family's participants. All sound interesting, but the evening in Kate's eyes might be special. -- And then of course there's the college-age sister.

Really nice story, VMS. Think you've awakened envy in many a breast with this one.

Beautiful story. I am envious that Melissa had supportive parents. I hope the meeting is the next segment.  Love & Kisses

A loving, well written story. A visit to the meeting should be next, I hope.
