Don't take this the wrong way, but you overdid the Jewish thing a bit there.  I'm pretty sure, while some more observant Jews censor "G-d," I've never seen any censor "Lord."  The explanation at the end kinda whacked "Jewish" over the reader's head, too.  Most Jews, particularly most Jews that attend a reconstructionist or reform synagogue (which seems like what was described), don't really live their life by their religion like the story describes.  I'm Jewish, myself, and personally am not all that religious.  I appreciate good-quality stories written around Judaism, and I don't want to dissuade you from possibly writing more, because this definitely qualifies... but being Jewish isn't some weird spiritual thing.  Jewish people don't go around emphasizing their Jewishness.

This sounds like one big criticism, but it isn't.  It's just a bit of a complex thing I'm trying to describe.  My only *real* complaint is that the story felt a bit rushed, particularly at the end.  I really do appreciate the effort you made in trying to accurately portray the Jewish faith.  Good show :)

The importance of reader feedback cannot be overstated.   Authors rely on it to improve their future works, and it gives them the incentive to write more stories if they know that their hard work has been appreciated.  I am not saying that comments must all be lauditory.  Authors often appreciate honest, constructive criticism over simple remarks like 'Great story', although simple praise is appreciated also.  There is no limit on how much you can enter in the 'comments' box.   Sentences will automatically word wrap at the end of the line so please do not use your carriage return/enter key except at the end of your paragraphs.
