First class, all the way.I couldn't get through the last two chapters with out crying.  Well done.

You did a wonderful job. The story was well written, it made you smile, giggle, cry from sadness, and cry from being touched and beautiful. If this was a novel it would sell on any market.
Please keep up the good work.
Gloria

Sarah,
Not only was this a well written, well thought out story, it is just beautiful. So sensitive and engaging. You obviously have a very loving and gentle soul. I do not possess the talent that you bring to these pages so I must reconcile myself to only being able to say thank you for sharing yours with us.  Debbie

Molly:

Thank you so much for taking the time to leave such a nice comment.  For me, it is a love that continues to grow, and not just the flowers.   I think that's the nice thing about gardens.  The more flowers you have, and the more love you put into it, the prettier they grow.  I think that your unique flower would fit right in; and would be add a special touch of color.

Thank you Molly.

This is one of the first TG stories I ever read. After perhaps a year or more, I just finished reading it again. I had forgotten all of the events described in the story, but for the past year, there has been an empty cabin nestled in a cove by a lake in my mind. It sits there still, towards the back of my mind, a bit to the right of center and just above my horizon line. It is a quiet place, with only the sound of the wind blowing and the insects buzzing from Spring to Autumn. The violets and the white lilies grow wild there, presumably over where Emily and Victoria lie buried. Their love that once grew lies buried in the cold earth as does my love, with only an empty and silent cabin and windswept flowers grown wild to mark its passing. In those quieter moments in my own life, between the times when I am reading TG fiction or otherwise distracting myself, I look up and see their cabin once again in the back of my mind, hear the wind blow, and see the flowers grown wild. If I finally decide to have my last BBQ, I can only hope that my spirit will join with theirs, so that I will no longer be alone. Perhaps then another flower will sprout and grow among the violets and the lilies.

great story  warm and easy to read. keep it up

Comment by Jennifer Brock on 06/28/05
That was a very sweet and touching story!
I'll even admit to a tear or two.

It would have been nice to catch up with Amy at the end there, too, but there's a reason why they call them short stories - there isn't room for everything!

I didn't quite get the epilogue, but I think it's just that my brains have been baking in this summer heat too long.  I'm sure it meant something.

I truly enjoyed the caracter development and the way that transgenderism is woven throughout the story.  Full bodied and complete.

Thanks

This is a fantastic story, sensitively written and well constructed. The characters come to life and only the hardest hearted would not feel for them.

Well done Ms. Morgan I look forward to reading some more from you.

Love from Sarah

A wonderful story!  Transgenderedness is only one facet of many
of our lives, and Emily shows some real character and earns the
love of other people throughout her life.  Victoria is a bit over
the top, but her sincerity shines through.  Even the limo driver
was a real person.  Good work, Sarah!
