This was just the right little story for Sunday evening. It's been a while since I've visited Storysite. The words flowed very nicely. I agree with the other comments, "be careful what you wish for." The ending caught me by suprise. I don't know if I'm correct or not but the age of Donna's new intended, she just might be marrying into money and her little girl my just be a maid again. I like it.

Yes, that was some Christmas present surprise.  Another cautionary tale of be careful of what you wish for; you might get it.

I agree wholeheartedly with Jezzi that she's a bitch, but he asked for it.

Well written and well worth reading.

Keep up the good work.

Dear Donna:

This is a very stylish and lyrical vignette -- I simply loved it.  I think you captured the Christmas spirit perfectly, and I thought it was a perfect present.  You are a marvelous craftsperson and have terrific technique.  I hope to read more.

Love & Kisses,

The importance of reader feedback cannot be overstated.   Authors rely on it to improve their future works, and it gives them the incentive to write more stories if they know that their hard work has been appreciated.  I am not saying that comments must all be lauditory.  Authors often appreciate honest, constructive criticism over simple remarks like 'Great story', although simple praise is appreciated also.  There is no limit on how much you can enter in the 'comments' box.   Sentences will automatically word wrap at the end of the line so please do not use your carriage return/enter key except at the end of your paragraphs.
