I like what your trying to do It seems nice but there are a few things that you may have forgotten DA was already form though yes not praticed after book 5 still formed.  Two you have the title of your story Holly Poter and you have him and Ron as Guys and you already plan to change a female into male as it is listed for the story.  I would suggest having someone proof read it more then one time let alone your self proof reading it there are gammar and spelling errors that need fixing.I have to agree that this part was short   You did imply afew things that were left out of book 6 or that could come into book 7 when ever that is ready to come out and release to the public.  I have to give you credit for the idea's in the creating of this story I wish you luck with it but I might suggest you sit through relax and work on correcting the first part before continuing with the 2 part I think a few fixes may help in the creation of the next part.

Whenever I see someone else doing a fanfic about Harry Potter it tends to draw my attention. When Harry's name changes to Holly Potter, well, I have little choice but to take a look at what is being done. Before I begin, let me say congratulations on writing your first story. It takes courage to write anything and submit it to public scrutiny.

My first impression reading your story was that you were rushing things a bit too much. The characters didn’t really feel like they were talking to each other, but rather, saying lines from a script. Also, Mrs. Weasley wouldn’t casually allow her youngest child to be placed in any sort of danger. She has always been the over-protective mother through out the series, and that extends to both Harry and Hermione. I suspect that she would have a roaring fit if Harry asked her anything like that, and then would feint if marriage was mentioned (she certainly would not bring up that topic). Mr. Weasley might be more supportive up to the point of marriage, but that is certainly up for debate. He has tended to be much more of a free spirit when it comes to family matters.

At any rate, it sounds like you started this conversation shortly after Dumbledore’s funeral, the fact that everyone who attended it seems to be at Hogwarts at the moment tends to lend support to that theory. It seems to me that the last thing Harry would want to do is bring up such things at that particular moment. I think that Haryy could grudingly accept Ron and Hermione helping him becuase that's what they've been doing all along, but Ginny really has not been a part of that equation until book five. The very fact that he loves her means he would try to do anything to keep her from being in danger, with him. Just a point of view, she was part of the D.A. so she does have every right to be there. It just might have been nice to see some sort of arguing going on.

I liked the part where Dumbledore bestowes his possesions to Harry. Nicely done.

If you go by what happened at the end of book six, then you realize that Harry could care less about the Ministry. He also could care less about any sort of restrictions and taking any further tests. Not that it really matters because there might not be a Ministry or Hogwarts to enforce the rules. BTW, it is perfectly fine to stray away from Rowling’s vision if that is what you want. I know I have taken more than my share of liberties in that respect.

Normally I don’t complain too much about spelling errors, mainly because I am guilty of that myself. Still, you might want to check on the names of established characters Like Godric Gryffindor and the names of spells. Gildrod does sound like an interesting name though, but anybody who isn't a die hard fan wouldn't know who you are talking about.

Umm…very short beginning you have made. Again, it felt like you compressed way too much information into this first part. Had you played with it more, explored the world you are creating, then perhaps this first part would have ended up being much bigger than you would have thought possible. I speak from experience here, my first Holly Potter story was supposed to be really short, but the story refused to cooperate with my wishes.

Good luck with your story.
