I read this story for the third time today with long time between them. And every time I am getting so jealous of Annie.
A friend of mine told me recently that I can be her maid for a little week. I am looking forward to it and hope it will resemble this story.

I just finished sewing a nice black and white maids dress, and of course a very full petticoat and a blouse to wear with it.
I hope that my Mistress for a week will like my dresses, and off course I also hope that she will be pleased with my execution of the given tasks.

Thanks for this wonderful story.

Dear Monica,
I read your letter at Petticoated.com and thought others would like to see so as to know the real you especially since you refer to this wonderful realistic story in your letter.  I hope you don't mind as there is nothing too revealing in the letter and it is a public document.
I hope you are well and I love reading your stories over and over.
Hugs

Another Happy Housemaid
from Monica
Dear Miss Susan,

My name is Monica and I am a freelancing professional - but also a part-time male maid to my wife for over 25 years.  We live and work in Athens Greece, but we visit Melbourne every year around Christmas for about a month, and we have done this every year for the last 17 years.  I know Melbourne very well, and I know Richmond also. We spent an Australian summer, years ago staying with friends in a side street off Church Street, and very near Swan Street and the famous shop of Dimmeys.

You see, my wife is English, but her family moved to Australia in the early sixties, and this is the reason we come to Melbourne once a year. Unfortunately this year was not one of the best, we were there until mid January, the drought and the bush fires were quite strong issues, as you very well know.

I have loved housework since I was a young person, influenced by our live-in maid at the time - a very common story indeed for crossdressers with 'a maid's syndrome', as I call my condition.

My wife accepted this long ago and we established a balanced relationship, her being the one who goes out to work, and me the one who stays behind to deal with the house. Being a freelancer I am able to operate from home and this gives me the chance to spend a minimum of three hours daily doing all the housework, the shopping and the cooking etc.

I am simply dressed as a working maid, nothing fancy, a cotton dress and a large work apron for my chores, as well as tights and sensible shoes. We have a silent agreement with my wife that when she comes back from work, I will be dressed in my male clothes, but I can always wear my various aprons. Dealing with the house, and housework in general, has a soothing and pleasing effect on me, and is beneficial for both of us, since my wife hates housework, apart from cooking.

Unfortunately I don't get, as I would like, a firmer approach from my spouse to the 'maid – mistress' relationship. She is not the type, I'm afraid, but I am the 'designated house person' in our relationship, and this is already a big concession from her side. Over the years I have worked occasionally as a maid in the UK and Australia for other employers but for brief periods of time. In fact I worked in Melbourne once, for a whole week as a maid for a friend of my wife, and I wrote a story about that experience.

I hope this brief letter is within the scope of your 'petticoated.com' activities, and I hope it will interest some of your readers. For me it is a good chance to 'talk' about my condition to someone who is able to understand this special need to be a maid. Some years back I was thinking that I was a unique case, but now, through the internet and various books that I have read, I realise that this is not such an unusual condition after all.
Yours respectfully,
Monica

Monica, I will see if I can take a photograph of the Church Street – Swan Street intersection with Dimmeys in the distance for you. When winter comes I won't be buying my bloomers anywhere else – Dimmeys are famous for their plain brushed cotton, down-to-earth undies. Victoria wouldn't find any secrets through those glass doors. Until quite recently Dimmeys still used change cylinders on wires. I always thought it would be the best job in the world to be the person up high in the room who made the change and sent it back again.

Response from Miss Susan:
It is very satisfying and relaxing to be your wife's maid, and from the look of your photograph, you do an excellent job.

I love your story.  The working maid, in appropriate dress and apron, not that frilly french maid-stuff.  And she is really working.  I love you description of her life during these days, it seems very realistic and I really put myself in her position a few times.
Thank you very much for sharing it with us.
Hugs,
Laura, Norway

Dear Monica:

Your enthusiasm bubbles over in this story. Personally I don't really like anyone in the story except Monica/Annie but that isn't too much of a drag on the story.  Monica/Annie is the main character so she does carry it well. The fact that there is a core of truth makes it much more interesting also.

Honestly this story is a bit of a stretch for me in most ways but the true delight allows me to enjoy what I normally would not. It was distracting to have so much made out of calling her Annie and then have Jenny thrown in several times. As the naming was a significant plot device you should have been consistent. Other than that I do not see a big need for proofreading.

In the end this is an enjoyable story that shows a side to the TG life that many of us (I think) do not encounter at all or think about too much. I would really love to see more of the loving relationship between Monica and Pat. I think that would make a great tale. Probably she could go farther than in the past with the info from this experience. Monica seems to thrive on a certain degree of humiliation. Thank you for an enlightening story. I did really enjoy it.

   Hugs,

   Kristi
