Kathy's explanation is simply not correct. Legally, until a child reaches the age of 18, the acts perpetrated on Susan, whether committed by a parent, other relative, or anyone having the care or control of the child, are illegal, and are considered child abuse and/or child molesting. The fact that Susan is 16 does not  change that fact. Also, there CANNOT be "parental consent" to the horrible acts committed on Susan- parents can't agree to having a child abused  by pedophiles, any more than they could agree to someone taking the child and locking her in a tiny, dark closet for a year (though, in some ways, that might be less traumatic than the torure inflicted on Susan.) Any parent who did that would be guilty of the criminal offense of assisting a criminal. I'm sorry, but somehow I missed any sense of indignation or outrage in the story. Child molesting is not in the same category as magic or fantasy, and I am surprised that Crystal has printed a serial which views it as an acceptable rite of passage.

I accept Kisti's feelings about the subject, and I admire her for making them. I must state that the "House Whore" is purely a literary work of fantasy, as are other stories which include magical transformations, etc. In NO WAY, do I condone IRL (in real life) such acts and I abhore it's practice. However, I believe that by making the fictional character, "Susan" as being 16 years old, and "her" having parental consent, my author's position in this work, has been made clear. Fantasy, is just that, and is an inalienable right of all humans who dream, think and use their creativity. It was never my intention to offend in any way. A reviewer or reader can always close the browser window or press the "back" button and not continue.

I must be the only person on this site to have been revolted by this series. To me the idea of pedophilia, child abuse, and child molesting is disgusting. I can't believe that Kathy seems to consider this acceptable and even desirable. I cannot begin to imagine the trauma and damage- lifelong- that an experience like this would inflict on a helpless child in the real world. Fortunately, in reality there are child protection services, courts- and prisons .

I read the first four parts (yesterday) and though the premise didn't grab me at first, your writing style did. I became curious and then, excited (well you know where that lead!). Thanks, and now I shall check out part five and of course I'll be wanting more.......
Sincerely,
Crista

The importance of reader feedback cannot be overstated.   Authors rely on it to improve their future works, and it gives them the incentive to write more stories if they know that their hard work has been appreciated.  I am not saying that comments must all be lauditory.  Authors often appreciate honest, constructive criticism over simple remarks like 'Great story', although simple praise is appreciated also.  There is no limit on how much you can enter in the 'comments' box.   Sentences will automatically word wrap at the end of the line so please do not use your carriage return/enter key except at the end of your paragraphs.
