Ann,

What a great story!!!  It brought a tear of happiness to me as Kendra was rushed from her house and off to work to save the day.  As her artistic skills flowed gracefully from her female side Kendra was quickly accepted as the true person that would benefit the company and with that her female side was welcomed without compromise.  This was a wonderful story with a pleasant ending, I feel the man who got fired was let off easy, he could have learned much from Kendra and maybe benefitted if he had been more reserved and open minded.  But his mouth was his worst enemy!

Ann,
I read this story several years ago.  It touched me deeply and then I lost track of where I found it.  Day before yesterday I found it again and felt like celebrating!  I realized that I have carried it with me (your story) ever since I first read it.  There is magic going on with Sally.  I wanted to have that relationship with one of my own dolls.  She is such an integral part of the narrative.  Thanks for your empathy and skill.  Please keep writing!!!! I love your work.

Oh dear!  I really would like to make some constructive remarks about why this story works but I have to admit I don't have the faintest idea.  What I can say is that I had a tear in my eye after reading this and a warm feeling in my heart.

I liked the references to the dolls.  They added that touch of authenticity to the story.  I always find that talking to my own dolls helps when the world seems to be against me.

I'm going to read more of your stories now.  Thanks for this one.

Annie--A wonderful, happy story of one solving their conflict on an upbeat scale.  You don't know how good it is to have you back.  Keep it up!

This story appealed on three levels:
1. It was well written from all the perspectives that comprise "well"
2. It was a fine, gentle story: no screaming dom, no betrayal, a discovery of self and the ability to be oneself ("to thine own self be true"...."And it must follow, as the night the day, Thou can not then be false to any man.")
3. The "what/who am I/" question.  The implied self-loathing in the assigned role and all that brings and the sense that there might be another way.....

Thank you.  I really enjoyed it.

Annie O

I started playing Simon and Garfunkel ¡§The Sound of Silence¡¨ after the first few lines.

A few Authors have asked for comments that are constructive and more than just fan mail so here goes my attemptļ.

I think this is a lovely story with interesting thoughts on depression and self motivation.

The description of Kendra is very well done and painted a clear image.

Minor glitch with font/bold in two lines.

I wondered if having Kendra¡¦s internal dialogues in something like italics would help readers not make false starts reading those sentences.

I don¡¦t know why but something seems odd with these two sentences: "I put my love in them, so I know they are. I meant I finally went through a day on 4-1/2" heels without tripping once!" Maybe the two sentences run into each other?

The thoughts that being human is the meshing of the male side and the female side come through clearly.

Thank you for the warmth your story gave me .
Hugs Chrisl

As i've said before, a story suceeds in its goal, if it can involve one in an emotional sense. this story suceeded in that. i had a tear in my eye as i read it. well done Ann, hope to see more like this. oh by the way. i sent the plumbers round to deal with that leakage problem you had, (winks) love from prue

What a wonderful story.  I felt like I was really able to identify with Ken/Kendra.  Ive found, like him, that my femme side can do things my drab side can't and vice versa, and that the two togethjer make a whole.  From her liking for dolls, I was afraid that Paula would find that Kendra was dressed as a little girl; I'm so glad she wasn't.  Adults can like and enjoy dolls, too.

An excellant story set in what the world should be not the way it is, or at least feels like it is. You can almost feel his emotion and understand what he is going through. Thank you Ann
