Very well written.  The denial, the ambivalence, the progression of steps culminating in..
..& then leaving the conclusion to the reader, whose imagination can provide a happy or chilling ending. Well done!

The next chapter is the one you will write in your own mind. The author indicates that the story is complete, and so it is. I've seen a few stories like this, that focus on specific aspects of transition. This one is about the turning point, the decision point, when the dam breaks because it cannot hold any longer. What happens after? Does his wife accept or reject him? Do they become lesbian lovers, or go their separate ways? None of it matters. The main character has made a decision, and his life will never again be the same. And that, right there, is the story.

What a wonderful beginning.... I DO really rally hope that you have the next chapter written...... This is SO,  SO lifelike and a scenario that somebody like me can relate to....  It IS so insightful into my thinking when I was a young married guy......  All the mental conflicts... of wanting to go further into femininity,  but no daring to...  asking all the questions you include.. "What knid of man??..." so many ways....  we've all asked ourselves these question.   I do hope you carry on and let us all hear what happens that night, inbed,  when you suggested talking about something important.  I love the detail in your hair and beauty....  I try to create the same in my own stories.....  Keep going,  PLEASE!!!!!  LOL,  WbG xxx

The importance of reader feedback cannot be overstated.   Authors rely on it to improve their future works, and it gives them the incentive to write more stories if they know that their hard work has been appreciated.  I am not saying that comments must all be lauditory.  Authors often appreciate honest, constructive criticism over simple remarks like 'Great story', although simple praise is appreciated also.  There is no limit on how much you can enter in the 'comments' box.   Sentences will automatically word wrap at the end of the line so please do not use your carriage return/enter key except at the end of your paragraphs.

It is not necessary to use your real name here, and, email addresses are optional.  Posting your email address will allow the author to thank you for taking the time to post your comments, and/or discuss critiques and address possible concerns.
