Hi Paul;
Thank you for the time you extend to entertain us. Many people
will come across as cruel in the critisism. I wish this had spell
check for myself. You can always get a friend,or a proof reader
to help. I wish life were like television, where we could get family
support and have everything worked out, with in an hour. The dark
end of that story,is sadly more true.

Sad story  my dear .But its may sum up how many of us  feel inside

Comment by Sheryl S. on 10/23/03
Quite ironic and undeniably heartfelt.  As your preamble properly disclosed, this is a true testicle, ...er, testament to the frustrations and anxieties many of us feel.  Paul, take heart and don't be discouraged by the critics.

Remember, those who can express art in a manner recognized as genius (but sometimes not for centuries), do so. Those who lack first-rate talent but embrace the disciplines, teach.  Those who cannot successfully express the art within their souls in either of the first two ways, but appreciate the artists who can become devotees and enthusiasts.  Those without the self-confidence or self-honest to do any of the above, criticize -- not constructively, to point out a specific technique for improvement, but derisively -- with the intention to hurt.

Here's to you, Paul, for taking their best, and remaining true to your own soul!  Good luck.

Love and Huggz,
Sheryl S.

ok i would like to address these two comments. Yes its a tragic story.. but you have to understand the context.

hacking doesnt equate to srs no.. but the srs was performed at the hospital as there was no way to rescue his male parts.

and yes i think that was a typo.. missing the 2nd o in dorothy. but still nice that her mother buried her as she wanted to be and not marked the grave with the male name.

a short, good, but harrowing story.

Well you have proved you can't write for many years, supported only by those who pity you.  How is self-mutilation equated with SRS? It's not but someone as dense as you probably doesn't know the difference.  And you don't even spell the name right.  No wonder everyone puts you down.

What a horrible ending to a sad story.  And can you imagine his mother spelling his name wrong on the gravestone?

The importance of reader feedback cannot be overstated.   Authors rely on it to improve their future works, and it gives them the incentive to write more stories if they know that their hard work has been appreciated.  I am not saying that comments must all be lauditory.  Authors often appreciate honest, constructive criticism over simple remarks like 'Great story', although simple praise is appreciated also.  There is no limit on how much you can enter in the 'comments' box.   Sentences will automatically word wrap at the end of the line so please do not use your carriage return/enter key except at the end of your paragraphs.

It is not necessary to use your real name here, and, email addresses are optional.  Posting your email address will allow the author to thank you for taking the time to post your comments, and/or discuss critiques and address possible concerns.
