This is like a bad twilight zone episode,that ran a muck. I like Comment by Mysti on 02/15/04 Another fine effort from one of my fav authors. This one was absolutely chilling- especially the part where, before it happened, all that he would have to endure was described to him, in detail. I can imagine what he felt when , after the nurse gave him the shot that temporarily paralyzed him, he was told that, during surgery, the doctor was going to break his neck and make him a paralytic forever. Perhaps they videotaped the surgery, and they could play back, for his benefit, that exact moment when he was paralyzed, over and over, endlessly? This reminds me so much of the gems peoduced by EC comics and Archie Goodwin, but with a transgender twist. Oh, the absolute horror of being reduced to an immobile human cow! The importance of reader feedback cannot be overstated.
