Hi Jenn!  Loved your Story on Understanding High School.  As with Annie O, maybe you should contemplate this as a Series?  Would enjoy seeing how Brock and Jennifer develop!  As a suggestion, if you don't mind, perhaps if you developed into a series you could have an Understanding Middle School and Elementary School.  Would also be nice to see Sports Teams for the Genetic Females with the Males as Cheerleaders and Majorettes and such.  Just a thought.  Keep up the GREAT Work!

Uh Jez, its colleagues.
Except for the "rogue" errors, this should be expanded into a series -- Brock and Jennifer, maybe.
Also, I'm glad you wrote this, as I was thinking of this in "Hope," with a new teacher learning and teaching.

As so often, Jezzi's observations leave me with nothing to say,
except that I, too, liked the story.  And what I would have given
to be able to attend such a utopian institution!  (Well, according
to Jezzi, such an institution, one very like it, exists, so strict-
ly speaking it isn't utopian, since utopia means nowhere.)
.
One niggling, picky correction: the stuff one puts on one's cheeks
is rouge, not rogue!

I love Understanding High!

I actually do teach at Understanding Middle School in Understanding School District.  My superintendant calls me Jez just about as often as she does my drab name, and, while I teach drab, everyone, colleqagues, students, parents,  know  that I act enfemme; no one has ever complained.  Most of my colleagues know and accept that I'm a CD.  I have even done my one-woman show for my collegues at an in-service workshop - at the request of my superintendant.  Somebody Up There likes me!  Our high school has a very out-of-the-closet GLBT club and there is virtually no hassling; one of the club members went on to found the GLBT club at our local community college.

I hope that this story continues and/or that there are more Understanding High stories.  Would you consider opening UH to other authors?

The importance of reader feedback cannot be overstated.   Authors rely on it to improve their future works, and it gives them the incentive to write more stories if they know that their hard work has been appreciated.  I am not saying that comments must all be lauditory.  Authors often appreciate honest, constructive criticism over simple remarks like 'Great story', although simple praise is appreciated also.  There is no limit on how much you can enter in the 'comments' box.   Sentences will automatically word wrap at the end of the line so please do not use your carriage return/enter key except at the end of your paragraphs.
