Wonderful story Janet, it could only be written by someone like us who has had similar dreams throughout their youth about such an injury and that we would wake up from surgery with that nasty problem gone forever and in its place the anatomy that we should have been born with.

With me it was a chainsaw blade that gouged me with such precision that only my manhood was severed, nothing else but a scratch on my thigh.  The pain was so severe that tears fell from my chin in a steady stream as I saw my own blood fall from my pant leg and fill my tennis shoe.  The next thing I remember is a surgeons excited voice as he said "put him under...quickly!" but something went wrong, as he fumbled through what remained of me I could hear everything that was said and feel everything that they were doing.  Screaming in pain my hand went out to grab him but not a word came out, nothing moved, I was sedated and helpless to communicate and fully aware of what they were doing to me.  I laid there helpless for what seemed like hours as anatomical terms were spoken with countless pains shooting from my crotch.  Finally, I was wheeled off to a private room and a morphine drip was added to my IV tube, moments later I drifted into a deep sleep.

When I awoke, The surgeon was there telling my father that sex was still a possibility for me but only as a woman if things healed properly.  Father went into a rage about how he needed a son to take over his store and follow in his footsteps.  It was then I gasped for all the breath I could get and hissed "no...you threatened to disown me if I tried to be the woman that I was meant to be.  You said it was all to hurt you, but it was me that lived in pain.  I heard and felt everything that happened in the emergency OR, the demands you made of the surgeon, the nurse who cried as she told the surgeon something is better than nothing...doctor you must try this...the patient will adjust...don't leave him with nothing at all!"  Yes, I felt everything and heard everything, that nurse was my guardian angel and I will live the rest of my life a woman, your daughter.  Make the best of it, I know that I will.

Many were the nights this nightmare would cause me to bolt upright in bed soaking wet with sweat, I could never wish it on anyone else.

No way out? So true. Jill was forced into womanhood early due to an unprovoked attack. Now she needs to continue and show everybody she is a woman and face her attackers. Janet, I hope you never face such hatred.

The importance of reader feedback cannot be overstated.   Authors rely on it to improve their future works, and it gives them the incentive to write more stories if they know that their hard work has been appreciated.  I am not saying that comments must all be lauditory.  Authors often appreciate honest, constructive criticism over simple remarks like 'Great story', although simple praise is appreciated also.  There is no limit on how much you can enter in the 'comments' box.   Sentences will automatically word wrap at the end of the line so please do not use your carriage return/enter key except at the end of your paragraphs.
