An absolutely wonderful story. I could not stop reading until the very end!! I was quite impressed with the fact that the story was centered around Jeasica and her emotions, and not involved at all with any kind of sexual innuendos, scenes, or acts that are present in a great percentage of stories involving transgender individuals. A wonderful story that touched many tender arwss in my own heart and definitely would love to learn more about Jessica Strange. I would love to meet her friends and see where her intelligence has taken her life and also how her gracious and loving mother has come along in the years. And while I've known way to many people like Jasons father, I cannot help but be a bit curious as to where he stands in these later years with Jason/Jessica. A truly beautiful story! Well done!

Jessica,  a wonderful little story you have here. I do hope you will do more stories about Jessica and her Mom/Sister, plus all her new women friends that she has made.
My only negative comment is regarding the smoking and drinking she is doing at real age 13. Her comment about Jason never smoking, but Jessie will, leads me to believe that s/he needs to truly use that wonderful brain she has, because smoking does not work like that. If you get hooked, it doesn't matter if you are dressed as Jessica or Jason, you are hooked. About the drinking, even though Dianne is being a really good Mom, sister, friend and so forth to both Jason and Jessica, s/he is entirely too young to be drinking and THAT could lead to really big problems if something happened while Jessica is found to be drinking by the police. Trouble for both her and her Mom, big time.

Great story. Would like to see the others as noted at the end of this one. Jessie & Dianne have a great start and we need to know that they are continuing in their knowledge and love for each other.

Hi Jessica, great story, I would love to read more about Jessie and DI and "the gang". Please consider doing follow ups. Thanks, J-Lynn

Wondeful story if  bit far fetched with Di's acceptance as strong as it seems but still a wondeful plot.

Please take it forward.

I disagree with Eric's comment #1.  To me, it was obvious that a CD had just purged.

I agree with his comment #2.    Joan and Carolyn as a lesbian couple, which is how they would appear, one of whom was a public school teacher, in the 1960's?  Uh uh.  Even today it would be a scandal in most parts of the country.  Just Face It sounds a lot like the real place I go (blatant plug here :-) Transformations by Rori in the Chicago area, and like Vaingirls that I created for some of my stories; I don't think it would have existed in the '60's, at least not openly.  (Although I had my Vaingirls start in 1976)

My problem centers around Di and Joan - mom and teacher's treatment of a 13 year old boy, albeit a very unusual one.  It would certainly be considered abuse, even if only the smoking and alchohol were considered.  I also know the reality of the salon is that upon learning that Jessica was really 13, they would back off immediately and say come back when your 18, so as not to be involved as accessories when/abuse charges surfaced.

How can Jason be so anti-smoking and Jessica smoking quite a bit?  They share the same body, after all.

Finally, why on earth is Di still with Robert?

An incredible story!  I especially love the way you introduced Jessica to the cigarettes.  Thanks for such a wonderful story.

I found this story and I LOVED it! I laughed and cried I even broke out in a cold sweat at one point. When you read it you will know what part I'm talking about.

Very nicely done.  Thanks for posting it.

Sort of a shame to offer any critical comments, but:

(1) The one point I had real trouble with was Jason getting all the TG equipment, neatly packed, plus $170, in one place.  (If it's a neat job, the perpetrator(s) don't forget about the money.  If they're panicked or irate enough not to open the purse(s), it won't be a neat job.) Only reason I mention it is because it led me to question the reliability of the narrator, which turned out to be counterproductive here.  I'd have liked to see the money coming from some other source.

(2) No obvious anachronisms here if we're talking about 35 years from the posting date (which'd be 1969) as opposed to the copyright date (1959), but it seems to me that many of the characters have awfully advanced attitudes for that time and place.  (I'm very doubtful that a TG teacher, even an eminently passable one, with a visible wife could last as long as two years in any school other than an elite private academy without the parents and/or administrators preparing a firing squad.  And Jason clearly isn't going to an elite private school.)

But please don't let my nitpicking detract from a very good, well-written story.  (There aren't many stories here that I've read three times in 48 hours, as I did this one.)

Eric
