I actually found Kelly's planning and his self-doubt to be highly disturbing --  too much like (I think) reality probably is. And yet I know that not everyone is mean, in fact most people (and here I'm thinking salespeople) are pretty nice. Taking chances is scary!

I almost quit but was well-rewarded for hanging in there.

No ogre! Yet, can I be sure about that? Elizabeth seems a rather coy and kind young lady, but will she turn into a sadistic dominatrix back at her apartment? (She's certainly forward enough to be someone intent on some kind of entrapment.) Crystal has labeled this vignette as "part 01;" I sure hope that means you've been thinking hard and "part 02" is nearly on the way.
