Dear Miss Katherine,

I don't get to read on the computer as much as I like. Although my career-days are over; I work two part-time jobs. I am also my Mistress/Wife's Housemaid/husband.

I want, "shout to the world," that this is the nicest, most beautiful story, that I've ever read. You developed the characters as needed. you brought me, as a reader, into the story. I felt, that I could be, "Mickey," (Mary Alice).

I wish my Mom would have dressed me in my sister's School Dresses. (sigh).

You've only written one story and I think it was perfect. It IS finished. Didn't O. Henry write, "The Lady of the Tiger?"

Your story makes me dream and more than once, wished I was born a girl. However, God doesn't make mistakes, there's a reason I like to be in Girl's clothing; I just don't know what it is.

Know this, "I'll be dreaming of me being in a young girl's Pink Party Dress, although my favorite party dress would be Yellow with Black Beading. At home, these days, I'm in my Black Housemaid's Uniform for all my household chores and change into my French Maid's Uniform for serving Mistress' and/or Her Girlfrend's their meals and Cocktails

I don't, "love," males; I, "love," Girls/Women. My Wife and I will be married for 47 years, this June.

Your story will be, "dancing in my head," on this Mommy's Day. I'll be thinking  of my Mom, my Mistress/Wife and your Pink Dress Story.

Sisterly yours,

"Missy," Susan Pauline

What a lovely story. I love the way it slowly builds up to the climax and all the indecision Mary Alice feels. I can really share her excitement at wearing such a pretty dress.

Definately a sweet story with a protagonist who demands sympathy if not empathy. It would be wonderful to see more chapters to this tale. One other thing, guilt and myrid 'sins'. It's very present in the protestant churchs and evidently other faiths as well. How wonderful it is that a gods love can be interpeted in such twisted vile ways.
Thank you for your work and your sharing. I wish you much peace and happiness.

IT IS A LOVELY STORY BUT GOD DOES NOT EXIST AND AT LEAST YOU HAD THE PRIEST SAY IT WAS ALL RIGHT. REMEMBER SOME TIMES WE ARE BORN WRONG AND HIS SISTER SHOULD OF BEEN THE BOY AND HE THE GIRL.

I think this is a lovely story dealing with all sorts of childhood emotions and experiences that one can associate with.  Yes, your first correspondent is right  - the story is not complete but that is part of its beauty.   Many boys who love to dress in girls clothing do so before they are fully aware of their sexuality.   The Catholic culture of the past where scruples get mixed up with genuine wrongdoing was a normal part of the thinking for the time in which the story is placed.

Hi Katherine, I really loved this story, but it is not complete. There are way too many loose ends that need to be tied up. Like for instance: Father Pete has ulterior motives for telling Michael that it was all right to wear a dress, but not to commit a sin while wearing it; what is Marilyn's motivation for agreeing with Maeven to see Micheal in the pink dress? And what about the barettes that were still in Michael's hair as well as the hair band? And what about Hallowe'en coming up? Another thing you can do too, is have both of his sisters, and Marilyn dress Michael as a girl, and just have them do girl thigs, and not watching the time when their mother comes home and sees Michael dressed as a girl, but doesn't say anything because she doesn't let them know she has seen him. These are loose ends, and continuations that need to be in a second part of "The Pink Dress."

Like I said tho, this is a very cute story, but it needs continuing.

What a wonderful story. Having been there only a few decades later, I know how Mickey felt.

You captured the Catholic guilt, the young man's angst, the kindly older sister.

You are an excellent storyteller.

There were a couple of technical things you might do differently, but that might just be my style of writing versus yours.

Please write more.
