I really like the idea of this story, and you have presented it well. I understand that it is likely long dead by now but it would be great if you could continue it.

Comment by larry on 01/13/13
i am a fan of the pern stories... you started a very good story. it ashame that it has been left unfinished and everyone hanging, as to what will happen.

maybe some day you will decide to continue the tale.

Now this situation is kind of unique here on this comment section to say the least!!!! I think I see more comments and all glowing then on any other story I've read up to this point. Yes you definitely kick some butt with this story. Very impressive is to mild a term to put it. I can find no words adequate to give a review other then I loved it. I like the others hope to see more added to this story. I would go out and buy it if I knew of it and it was a complete book and for sale commercially. Yes it is that good. I can see no area that I feel I could point out to you that could help you in any way. Very clean prose and so concise and a true flow. This is only the second time I've included my e-mail in a comment, and by the way I'm new here on the site as I stumbled across it quite by accident and stories like yours ensure that I have no regrets of finding and time spent reading. I was able to immerse myself into the story. I hope you achieve success as I see that you have that capacity and feel you would have a commercial success as well as accolades of accomplishment. BRAVO!!!!

Great, Great story...I do aspire that you will continue to add to Jara and Sianeth's adventures.

Please give us more!

Hello. I'm not a fan of fan fiction. However I must say that you have done a great job. The story is so well done that one could almost think that anne mccaffrey had written it herself. I have been a fan of the pern series for many years and I am very happy that your story remains true to the spirit of the series. I love your other works as well( Audra and Secret lives). Do you have anything new coming out soon? Please say yes.

You have made Ms. McCaffrey proud with the way you wrote the story. I hope that you will continue to work on it as you left us with a few things not finished. I would love to read what you do next for our hreoine Jara. I just hope she can finally come to terms with her new life and maybe, somehow become a complete woman.

Very interesting story. I have never read the series, but I did not find it hard to follow your story. Please continue so we can all see how Jara turns out. Thanks again J-Lynn

As one who has read all of the Pern series to date(and have some of the original paperback books as well as many of her other works)I was extremely impressed! It fits very well into the world of Pern and I really hope you write,at the least, one more story as we should see who she deals with her first Fall and her first mating flight as well. Again very impressive story so far.

I am reading the Dragonriders of Pern series right now. I am on book 9 of 17 at this point and have all 17 on my PDA. This story follows the works of Anne and her son perfectly. I hope that there will be more chapters soon, whether it is here or at the Big Closet.

Now for a little constructive criticism. Please make sure that you keep the name of the characters the same. This is one instance of the problem, and it happens more than once. "Sianeth, these are my two sisters and my mother. Ladies, this is Siabeth." In the first part when Jara impressed, she said "Her name is Sianeth." This happens quite a few times.

As I said earlier, I am really enjoying this story, and my comments are not to be construed as flaming. I would never do that. I have read many of your wonderful stories, and plan to do so as long as you write them.

Keep up the great stories.
Marc

I just wanted to say, thank you, for a most enjoyable read.  I hope that you will continue this story.  As some of the other readers have said, I also have read 'The Pern' novels(all of them), and believe it to be true to the 'Pern' world.

Comment by Linda Jeffries on 05/12/07
I read the original "Dragonrider" series of stories when they appeared in the Conde Nast publication "Analog" some 40-odd years ago.  Reading these first two chapters brought tham back to memory like I had read them just yesterday.  Ms Foxcourt has captured the style and rhythm of the original McCaffery stories quite well.  Now that Jara has finally accepted her female condition, I'm not sure how the authoress will keep a TG theme to the storyline, but I hope she will finish the story anyway because it is a good read and I am, for one, thoroughly hooked.  The quality of writing displayed here is far and above the average usually found in a TG story site. A job well done.

Comment by Robin on 05/11/07
I have all the Pern books and these two stories dovetail neatly into that world.  Great writing Please keep it up.

Comment by Joe Feldman on 05/11/07
I really, really love this story and I want to see it at Part 99, if that tells you anything.  Please don't stop.  Respectfully Joe

Bravo!  I read some of the Pern series a long time ago, and you have done such a great job.  I could not stop reading.  Please complete to tale of Jara.  Looking forward to more of your wonderful work.

Comment by Briar on 05/08/07
As a real fan of Pern, the Dragonriders, and all Mcaffrey's tales, I congratulate you for creating a TG story that fitted into that Universe so well!

I hope you will develop this one further.  There must be something that Jara is going to do, for all the Dragons to be so interested.  Also there were other threads (whoops) of the story left unfinished.  What becomes of her Father as a holdless man?  What is the crook Arabak up to?  and so on...

Anyway, well done you!  That took courage, to write that.
