My goodness, such critiques!  I'll take the high road and say I loved the story.  Nice job, and thanks!

Pretty well done for a ghost/spirit story -- liked the character development, the dialogue, and most of the background.  (A relatively minor point: If Tammy was as physicially able as she seemed, doing things like moving clothing between levels of the house, turning lights on and off, showing up in a mirror, and influencing thoughts or emotions (and this in a house that wasn't hers, so she had no special affinity for the place -- as opposed to the people -- that would expedite things), it's hard to see her needing help from Jim in getting the case reopened.)

But what bothered me was the payoff.  (SEVERE SPOILERS AHEAD.)

----------------------------

As the story's set up, Tammy has been cheating on Phil (with Eve) ever since they were married.  She chooses to fool herself into thinking that a lesbian relationship doesn't count and uses her posthumous mental influence to get Eve and Jim to concur, but there's no reason to assume her husband would agree.  From Phil's standpoint, if he finds out about Tammy's cheating, he'd might well consider himself justified in getting himself a woman on the side.

Furthermore, the story suggests that Susan has blackmailed her way into the relationship.  If that's the case, her most likely means of doing so was by threatening to expose Tammy and Eve.

Even then, Phil still loves Tammy, refuses to end their marriage, and is devastated by Tammy's death.  So Tammy "solves" things by blaming the whole thing on Phil and destroying his friendship with Jim/Heather and Eve.

I can't help thinking that Tammy will have a lot to answer for when she reaches the other side.
