Thank you for this charming reminiscence. We should all have mothers like that!

Thanks so much for sharing Debbie's story. What a great mom she had!Nice to see courage and humor near the end of one's life-I hope I might do as well as she.

Thanks for a warm and loving story! I think all of us wish we had understanding parents when we were young, it would have been much, much easier on us! I had a relative who took part in the North African Campaign, thru Sicily and Italy, Anzio and Salerno, too! Rome fell on about the same day as D-Day!

This is presented to us as a true reminiscence, & it certainly sounds
like one.  A sweet story, which I enjoyed very much.  But...assuming
it's true (& I won't question that), why is it that true stories are
so much more riveting than the ones we make up.  I've never managed
anything as good as this, & I frequently strive for realism.

A warm and tender story--my very favorite kind--not to mention that it is very well-written, and has some fascinating background. Thanks, Debbie!Hugs, Emmie

The way Debbie tells her life brought little tears in my eyes. The understanding her Mother showed made me so happy. I wish so hard that all the human beings would think this way. Imagine a world without hidding our true natures, for some foreever and for some a long time.

Thank you Debbie for this tale. It is a true story, isn't it? :)
Huggles,
Sandra

The importance of reader feedback cannot be overstated.   Authors rely on it to improve their future works, and it gives them the incentive to write more stories if they know that their hard work has been appreciated.  I am not saying that comments must all be lauditory.  Authors often appreciate honest, constructive criticism over simple remarks like 'Great story', although simple praise is appreciated also.  There is no limit on how much you can enter in the 'comments' box.   Sentences will automatically word wrap at the end of the line so please do not use your carriage return/enter key except at the end of your paragraphs.
