Well Rebecca, this is the second story of yours I have finished. The first one being "Marcia & Me" and your writing is fantastic. It would hold my interest even if I didn't have a personal reason for reading these stories. I am so glad you finished this one as I enjoyed it so much it brought me to tears a few times. I had hoped you could find time to finish "Marcia & Me" but I will download this one to read over and over again. You have a great talent for writing and I hope it has become your calling in life if you so wished. Thanks for all these wonderful moments I have had reading your stories, Angela M...

This seems to me a very strong story.
Also it seems honest even if somewhat sad.
As well as exquisitely well written.

You should try getting it published.
I like it.

Cheers
Yoron.

This is the second time I have read this story Rebecca and I still find it completely amazing! This really took my mind away from my own problems of being TS and I say thank you so much for writing this story!!!  Often times I feel like I have a ton of problems and feel sorry for myself and this really helped me to realize that my problems are basically nothing compared to what other peoples problems are like!  Again this is a wonderful story even though very sad at times.  I just can't say enough about it Rebecca except thank you again. You have no idea how much a story like this helps!

Hi Rebecca,

Yes, I enjoyed the story, the bitter and the sweet.

I guess Kellyl's comments bothered me a little. I deal with personal Depression every day and I feel that I understand your character Emma. You can have bright spots in your life, but that doesn't drive the depression away.

Hugs, Fran

Rebecca

What a long way from the rather typical and derivative Life With Brian (or does it just seem that way in retrospect?) to the brilliantly insightful Wild Horses.  Wild Horses has a heart as big as all outdoors. It covers a remarkable range of emotional space, and made me grimace, cry, laugh, and finally laugh out loud at Emma's utterly grounded humanity. My god, this girl has been dragged through the dirt of life and can still give light to others.  What strength. Just remarkable.

This is not a perfect story. I found the writing much too flat at times.  It's not just that Emma seems almost to be watching, rather than living her life.  It's that at times the story seems to be in black and white rather than in color.  While this may be an accurate reflection of poor Emma's emotional state, given the length of the story, this pushes your readers to hang in there with you.   And although Cindy nails this aspect of Emma at the end, still, I wanted to shout at her, "Get with it girl!  Show some life."

But really, that's sort of a quibble given the scope and heart of this story.  What you have really done, and this is truly a gift to anyone willing to invest her time in reading this, is to add a wonderful new heroine, really completely original, to the pantheon of TG heroines many readers have already fallen in love with.

Despite the ultimate sadness in her heart (or perhaps because of it) we will take Emma into our hearts and shelter her there and pray that she banishes her ghosts to live a life that is not only good for others, but rewarding for her as well.

We can only thank you for sharing her with us.  I shall think of her often.

Thank you so much for this story.  It was enthralling from beginning to end.  I've never commented on the stories here before, but I felt I just had to this time.  It is a beautiful and sad and just lovely.  Thank you.   Thank you.

Hi there.

I'm a huge fan of "The Lab".  I've read every part of that story I could get my hands on.  Will you ever finish this story?

If its already finished... where is it posted?

Dayna.

ps.  If anyone knows of parts above 15 please let me know.

I first read this story several months ago, and my opinion has not changed one little bit.  It is a very emotinal ride from start to finish, and if you don't cry at least once while you are reading this i'll give up womanizing forever.  It is worth dedicating a small part of your life to enjoy this tale.  Definitely time well spent.
                                                  Sincerely: Riccki
