i get this story, and i get it's revenge fantasy. However I also dislike the fact that it just brushes aside 'oh they wouldn't suicide'

ah..yeah. they would. This 'clinic' would have a very, very high suicide rate. As stated before it's designed to dehumanize and humiliate them.

So...why wouldn't they kill themselves? It's not like the therapists or psychologists would be any help, and it's not like there would be anything to help the new victims afterwords.

Basically this would cause a lot of deaths, but the author doesn't seem to want to confront that, for some reason.

I guess having your actions kill someone doesn't gel with a power, revenge fantasy.

All rapists should have immediate Sexual Reassignment as eunichs
and be made to dress and live as women for the rest of their lives----
then they are the ones who would be abused by their ilk, which is what they deserve.

good story,

it reminds me of a photo in a thirties magazine.
it shows a prisoner in Oklahoma jail who is dressed in
a white dress with atached hood. The subscription says:
John lane, a rapist who escaped from Oklahoma jail and
arrested again, has to wear this odd costume.

If I had been treated in the manner these "men" were, I would be seeking vengence in whatever manner I could get it. (See Lakeside View)
This is not tit for tat, even though it is a fantasy -- when these men are freed, it won't be a rape they commit, it will be homicide, in an attempt to erase the embarassment, the humiliation, the attack on their psyche they feel. Most rapists have a low sense of esteem, and the only way they can get intimate with a woman is thru force.

This story is interesting, well-written, and strikes a resonant chord.  It is an excellent observation on human nature.  Which is probably why I find it so disturbing.
Granted, there is a certain level of visceral satisfaction in seeing a heinous perpetrator become a victim.  But revenge is not justice.  It does not correct past injustice, and creates feelings of hatred and a desire for vengence in the target.  Witness the problems in the Middle East or the "troubles" in Northern Ireland.  This is all the result of self-righteous victims seeking revenge for perceived injustices.
As Rev. Martin Luther King said, if an eye for an eye were enforced, we would all be blind.
Again, a good story.  But disturbing.

Unique and interesting story; well witten and deserving of praise.  However, I agree with Oh2bpreg that it would be great to hear how the rapists felt about the program.  Maybe Jayne  could do a rewrite with alternating chapters from two points of view.

Even if not rewritten, this is a very good story and I look forward to reading more by this author.  Keep up the good work Jayne.

Justice done!  Great story, and believable, since the girls were informed and gave consent as an alternative to normal punishment.  I find it hard to believe, though, that, given rapist psychology, none, after being broken and submissive for a time, left as girls.

I think it would be interesting to see a story invoving an innocent man set up by a vindictive dumped girlfriend.

great story.  would love to see another version done from the rapists point of view of the program.

Now that's a story that won't go away in a hurry!

And it is merely a story, not reality so far as I've heard. Could it become reality? The thesis and enactment as described here are easily open to criticism about effectiveness as well as fairness, but the reality of both law enforcement and actual imprisonment today simply sweep objections away. Or do I myself oversimplify?
