I disagree. I know many transsexuals who do feel they belong 100% to one or the other. The definition that Serrano put forth, and that I strongly agree with is: an individual whose assigned birth sex is not in congruence with their subconscious sex or their self identified gender. I think what you are thinking of as in syndrome is GID which stands for Gender Identity Disorder. However many activists and medical providers think this term is problematic and are working toward getting it removed from the DSM The better diagnosis would be AGIS or Atypical Gender Identity Disorder which Hawk Stone has been pushing for |
