Marjorie was first at the desk on Monday morning and nodded to each of the others as they came in. She did not relax her concentration and worked on her bank statements with great focus.
It was just before morning tea that Marjorie was called in to see Mrs. Tompkins.
Hoping there were no problems she tentatively knocked on the door. When the door opened she saw Mrs. Tompkins as not alone but had with her the President of GrayPower, the wife of the Colonel and another woman, who on close inspection proved to be the Colonel himself.
The Colonel’s wife leapt up and grasped Marjorie in a big hug declaring: “You look wonderful, have not seen you so relaxed in years. It must be working for you!”
Thank you Madam.” Marjorie gasped and saluted the Colonel and “good morning Sir”. “Morning Major,” was the crisp reply,
Well actually, said Mrs. Tompkins “It is Good Morning Collette, and Good Morning Marjorie!”
“Now please say that” said the Colonel’s wife.
“Good Morning Marjorie”. “Good morning Collette, Sir.”
“There is no need for the ‘Sir’ said Collette”.
“Thank you hmm, I am very sorry, an oversight” said Marjorie.
“I called you in Marjorie,” said Mrs. Tompkins “because Collette is joining us as a member of the staff. She will live in during the week and return home for the weekends. And, she will be here to help you with the Bank Reconciliations.”
“Thank you Mrs. Tompkins!” said Marjorie
“I am staying midweek, Marjorie, because it is too long to travel home each day” said Collette.
“Please do not interrupt” said the Colonel’s wife “It is good for him to have work to do. To keep him alive and to help him lighten up!”
The President then chimed in, explaining that she had been with the Colonel's wife organizing a GrayPower weekend for recent army retirees, when it slipped out that an ex Major had joined GrayPower staff.
“The Colonel’s wife was quick to enquire if the Colonel himself could be employed. And when I explained, that with our elderly client base, we prefer to have the all woman staff because we wanted our organization to offer motherly care. But I did go on to explain that with a little deviousness we employ the most efficient operators, regardless of gender, without any violating to company policy.”
“The Colonel’s wife immediately asked if her husband could join the organization. She saw no problem in the Colonel wearing a few women’s clothes. She confessed concern about the effects of retirement on a man who had been active all his life.”
“Yes I think it would be good for him” said the Colonel’s wife. “And I am delighted he is joining GrayPower!”
Marjorie was pleased to have assistance, because GrayPower had separate bank accounts for every client and the reconciliations were demanding and unending.
Mrs. Tompkins then proceeded, asking that all matters to do with employment should be completed immediately so there would be no confusion in the future.
The Colonel’s wife spoke up, saying “Marjorie, as I said you look absolutely stunning. You have done an infinitely better job presenting yourself, than I have been able to manage with Collette.”
Mrs. Tompkins with a smile explained that Marjorie had accepted a few procedures so the transformation was seamless and so she might maximize her retirement savings. Mrs. Tompkins turned to Marjorie and said:
“Under these unusual circumstances, I think I can authorize that you are paid for TS, so let me help you with that zip, and it is such a strain for you chaps, so I will undo you bra.”
Marjorie then stood there resplendently as Mrs. Tompkins explained that this was a fully reversible procedure. She explained that it entitles Marjorie to free access to the nutritional food of the Restaurant – around the clock.
GrayPower has the capacity, she explained, to impact on those gender determining glands that make the young girl different from the boy at Puberty.
“We can reverse and augment those bodily changes quickly and in a controlled way.”
“It is really quite impressive,” said the Colonel’s wife.
“We prefer those who are living-in to take this step. Because our staff and guests mingle at night, having a coffee or a late night Port. When you are wearing a dressing gown, there are few secrets that do not become clear. It is easy to tell those who are masquerading. It is just a small amount of chest softening, and it gives a comfort and security for those in their twilight years, those who have given us the freedom and prosperity we all enjoy!”
“Commendable” said the Colonel’s wife “it is a small sacrifice to ask. Of course my husband will undertake this procedure! I do hope you turn out as nice as the Major, honey. Look at them, soft and firm. Very nice my dear!”
“Now don’t you give me any trouble on this, dear? You have to move out and venture if you want to avoid rusting up! You need to loosen up, and this is a way of introducing some softness into your life!”
Collette said “Yes dear!”
Mrs. Tompkins and then looked at the President, saying: “I really believe I can authorize a FS payment for Marjorie, I think this is a special occasion. We can pay her for the Full as well as the Top Strip? Is that okay? I knew it would be! But before I write the authorization, let me help you Marjorie to climb out of those panty hose. It is so gymnastical! Here put your hand on my shoulder.”
The Colonel’s wife exclaimed “Truly amazing Major. You have done a marvelous job with the Major. He looks beautiful. The proportion between the hips and waist! It is so provocative. Wonderful work! What is the reason for this second procedure Mrs. Tompkins?”
“Well sometimes the experience of freedom, of getting away from home, staying in a special room, causes the husbands to get a little frisky, demanding and bothersome. It can end up that the wives do not get much holiday at all!
We found it expedient to have our staff available, to defuse the pressure. It frees the wives from this burden, so it is win-win – the wives can step out together and have a little giggle, the husbands have the relief they deserve, and our staff make a little extra money for being available! Last week a group of the wives took off to see male strippers, while our staff had their fill attending the husbands. Everyone was sleeping contentedly when the marauding wives returned. A good night had by all!”
“What a wonderful opportunity of service!” exclaimed the Colonel’s wife. “I would definitely want my husband to be available to help-out here.”
“Of course my husband will accept that procedure as well. Well done Major! How do you feel about these exercises?”
Marjorie replied: “I have lived my life taking orders. The orders are not always to my liking, but I have learned to do as I am told. I found this service to be tolerable and at times rather enjoyable. And, it does provide a very useful additional source of income.”
“I think I would rather not have that option my dear,” said Collette. “I don’t think it is really necessary.”
“Come my dear, you are always rather cautious” said the colonel’s wife, “I think it would help your understanding, sometimes you men focus on the wrong things and expect far too much. It will only be for a few years and perhaps when reconstituted, we may become active again, as once we were!”
Mrs. Tompkins congratulated Collette for her attitude of dedication and readiness to accept Commission. She said:
“Good my dear, come up stairs with us now. You will sleep for a couple of days and we should have you up and ready for work on Friday night! You will in fact be ready for the weekend away with the Army retired. I will schedule both you and Marjorie, and you will be paid overtime. You may even earn some ‘After Hours’ money as well – Marjorie will tell you the AH work pays very well!”
Marjorie represented that perhaps she would prefer not to be scheduled for this week end, saying it might be hard with long term friends and there would be too much explaining to do.
“Come now my dear. Don’t be silly” said the Colonel’s wife, “when you fellows sit around drinking your port, there will be great excitement having you there, that little bit of chest softness will be greatly welcome. They will be queuing up. It will be the reunion to remember.”
Collette said “I am not so sure about this my dear. Could we think about if for a day or two?”
“Come my dear, bear up! It won’t be that bad” said the Colonel’s wife as they headed for the elevator and the change room.
