Having learned of recent events my mother did not respond kindly.

"Be careful!" screamed my mother, "you can get pregnant you know!"

My father was confused, having never though I would do such a thing and was sure to add an important detail to my condition, "If you are not careful..."

He trailed off, but I knew what he meant.

Pregnancy to this point had not been discussed.
I had never thought Rachel could get pregnant.

Of course, she is a girl...

If I weren't careful, the decision about who I would be for the rest of my life could be made for me in one fell swoop.
