Rachel left her house with the full intention of going to Tina’s house. She never made it. She ran into Tom, literally.
As Rachel pedaled on her back she was thinking of how she could morph into Rick and not paying attention. She did not see Tom jump out of his driveway until it was too late to stop. Rachel had been going full force on her bike and she knocked Tom down to the cement side walk while she fell into the grass.
Rachel was startled at first. She quickly realized she was shaken up but not hurt. Then she saw Tom. She saw Tom lying on the sidewalk and not moving. Rachel ran to Tom and saw he had many cuts and abrasions. She cried and screamed Tom’s name over an over.
Tom then spoke asking what had happen. Relieved that she had not killed Tom she hugged and kissed him. She help Tom to his feet and led him back to his house.
Once Tom was inside Rachel care and tended to his wounds. She realized that her love for Tom far outweighed Rick’s love for Tina, and Rick’s resentment of Tom.
