Tina and Rick

The next two months were relatively uneventful, well as uneventful as you could get for a 13 year old boy who had to spend several hours a day on average as a girl of the same age.
Having said that, a week after his birthday, Rick did face the near embarrassment of getting the morph urge in the middle of a history class. Without offering any explanation to Mr Richards the teacher he just ran out of the room and quickly made his way to the boy’s sports changing room, which was luckily empty. Once there he stripped, put Rachel’s clothes on and a few minutes later Rachel walked out of the school, virtually getting the rest of the day off.
It was the first time that his unusual situation had interfered with his schooling. Luckily the Grants had, over several generations, developed a solution to this problem – and Rick’s now regular headaches excuses made that solution easier to implement. It required forging a few medical certificates and a lot of persuasion. The conversation went something like this:
“If Rick has a condition which causes frequent headaches, that is no reason for him to just walk out of this building”
“These headaches severely impair Rick’s ability to concentrate on anything – there’s no point in him staying in class if and when they occour”
“Then he can be taken care of by our medical staff”
“There’s only one treatment that makes these headaches go away in the short term – and I don’t think your medical staff hold it. Believe me, Rick is undergoing longer term treatment”
“Tell us what this wonder drug is!”
“Wouldn’t make a difference – it has to be kept at a precise temperature – to do so needs specialised equipment!”
Mr Fosters, the head teacher of Rick’s school was a very stubborn man and at one point it seemed that desperate times would call for desperate measures.
“We may need to tell Mr Fosters about Rachel – maybe he can work something out.” Rick’s Mum suggested
“Forget it” Rick replied “he’d insist on Rachel becoming a student at Cranfield school as well – there’s only one way that can realistically happen – and it involves the whole school knowing about me. No thanks.”
In the end they decided on a dirtier method – litigation against the school if Mr Fosters didn’t play ball. Add in some arrangements between Rick and his classmates to make sure he was kept up to date and that was that problem solved!
As it was – Rick leaving school early never really did become a major occourance – mainly due to good planning on his parent’s part. This involves Rick morphing into Rachel of his own accord as soon as he got home from school and having Rachel hang around for the next couple of hours – doing Rick’s homework in return for getting to spend time with Tom later on.
In the meantime – both Rick and Rachel’s bonds with Tina were starting to get stronger. Rick hadn’t had a problem explaining that his history with Tom would mean any double date would be unlikely to ever happen. Weekends were as evenly as possibly between Rick and Rachel, and there was now a budding tradition of Rachel and Tina mall raids every few weeks, and Rachel’s ‘girl supplies’ were fast growing as a result.
And Rick’s older friendships weren’t getting affected either
In the mean time Rachel’s relationship with Tom was also blossoming, she’d gained a lot a sympathy from Tom after she told him that her parents had gotten divorced, and this seemed to result in Tom gradually going easier on Rick – who was starting to wonder whether Rachel’s feminine charms were working in his favour as his Mum had predicted – as things turned out, they were possibly working a little too well if anything.
One Thursday dinnertime Rick answered the door to find Tom waiting
“Oh, hi Rick” Tom started nonchalantly “Is Rachel around?”
“Uh…Tom, we’re having dinner” Rick was still nowhere near as comfortable around the older boy as Rachel was.
“Can I see Rachel?”
“Her Dad’s taken her out for dinner - she’s not here”
“You sure?”
“What’s this about Tom?” Rick’s voice got a bit more serious
“Who exactly is Rachel?” Tom’s voice grew darker
“She’s my cousin” Rick replied nervously, wondering if Tom had discovered his secret, and if so how “she’s my age, her parents are divorced, that’s why she lives here and…she loves you. And shopping with Tina” A slight grin accompanied the last remark.
“RICK!” yelled both his parents.
“Gotta go, my dinner’s getting cold” Rick rushed before shutting the door in Tom’s face.
“What was that all about?” asked his Dad, having come to his rescue.
“Dunno, Tom’s gotten paranoid over something!”
“Did either you or Rachel tell him about…each other?”
“Hell no, and I don’t think he could have found out any other way.”
“But you think he’s somehow found out.”
“Not neccersarily, but…he’s definitely worked out that something is up.”
“What could that be?”
“He may think that Rachel is too good to be true, may think it’s a set up…payback…too many coincidences…I could do with you saying that this sounds familiar.”
“Can’t say I do son, Rachel’s attraction to Tom is rare enough – and what occasions I have known of a ‘second’ side falling in love, it’s never involved someone with whom the first side has bad history with.”
“Great – have you got ANY ideas how to deal with this?”
“Well assuming Rachel wants to keep Tom in her arms and off your – Rick’s - case there might be a way out” Rick’s Mum suggested.
“Which are?” Rick wondered.
“Tell him the truth.”
“I thought you wanted to keep Tom in Rachel’s arms and off Rick’s case.” Rick replied “Tom’s going to assume it was a set up all along if his girlfriend transforms into the dork he used to give black eyes to in front of him”.”
“Well Rachel’s going to have to do something.” Mum replied with a slight smirk.
And so half an hour later Rachel rang the doorbell of Tom’s house wearing a suitably cool blue blouse and white skirt for a May evening – and was glad to see Tom answer it, greeting him with a peck on the cheek.
“So” she started taking him by the hand “Rick told me you were round earlier on”
“Yeah – he said you were having dinner with your Dad – whereabouts?” The two started walking down the road, away from both their houses.
“Framptons, on the other side of town – you know it?”
“A bit” a nonchalant reply
“Are you OK?” Rachel asked with concern.
Tom spun his girlfriend around gently and looked her in the eyes “Do you love me?” he asked.
Rachel smirked and her eyes sparkled “Well what do you think?” the young couple drank from each other lips for a few seconds “Seriously, what brought that on?”
“I dunno…well…Rachel, I want the honest truth, is Rick affecting our relationship in any way?”
“Are you asking if he’s got a problem with it?” she asked before answering the question “I’ll admit he was a little nervous of the idea at the start – we may be the same age but he does still get a little protective with me being new in town and everything – and let’s face it…”
“Yeah, yeah, I know…” Tom replied irritably “Do you think he’s being over-protective?”
“If he was being over-protective lover-boy, do you think he would have let me out tonight to do this?” The two kissed again “Or this?” She quickly undid a couple of buttons on her blouse before pulling him on to her tits, savouring the moment and feeling Tom get a boner. “In other words” she spun him round again towards home “you’ve got nothing to worry about.”
But a glance at Tom’s face suggested he though otherwise.
That Saturday Rachel and Tina were in the local video store, hoping to get a good comedy out – and the two girls arguing over what to get out had attracted some attention.
“Er…you girls got a problem?”
It was a pick up line, and a corny one at that. Tina brushed it off with a “None of your business”. But Rachel – whose insecurity over her current relationship was the main reason for this girls night in was already coming up with ‘what ifs’.
So when the guy replied with “It’s just that I heard that ‘My Big Fat Greek Wedding’ is pretty good – mind if a friend and I join you?” Rachel initially only responed with “Thanks” though she later added “but no thanks” while blushing internally and what was nearly the biggest mistake of her female life.
She knew she was on dangerous ground.
