Chapter 1 Shadows
Today was an ordinary day unlike any other...I woke up, took a shower and headed off to school. My family had just moved to England from America a few months ago. I was still learning the neighborhood, there were many old houses but one in particular caught my eye on the way to school that day. It was very large and had a gate it looked almost like a fortress I wondered why would some one need that level of protection in a neighborhood like this one? School was rough the kids always teased me. They called me a butch, id tell them I was a boy and they would tell me to stop being so queer. I guess part of me really got tired of correcting them. School let out around 3 and I was eager to get home. I always ran home, I grew up with boys chasing me down the street trying to beat me up. I guess it was just habit. That doesn't really happen anymore but part of me still hurries home just in case. When I noticed that mysterious house again...it almost looked empty, and that's when it happened, I saw some one staring at me from inside the house looking out the window at me. She was a tall blonde woman of about 40 years of age. I'm very shy so I lowered my head and kept on walking. I made it home and threw my book bag on the bed and sat in my computer chair. But I couldn't stop thinking about that woman I saw. "Does she live there alone? That's a awfully big house for just one woman."
The phone rang and I answered it. It was my friend Cole he lived next door and was the only person who seemed interested in being my friend.
"Hey its Cole do you wanna do any thing today?"
"No not really I'm kind of tired" I said.
"Oh that's to bad I was wondering...if you know maybe...you'd like to ya know go out to see a movie or some thing...?
My eyes lit up and my throat instantly got dry "Are you asking me on a date" I said"
"No...! I mean...your a boy that would be kinda weird now wouldn't it..."
"Yeah...I guess" I said. All I really wanted was him to notice me but he never did because I'm a boy... "Hey Cole? do you know that old house half way home from school?" I continued.
"Yeah what about it"? Cole replied.
"I was just wondering who lives there that's all"
"Hmm no one really knows I think its abandoned...Ashley."
"It cant be I saw a woman there this afternoon!"
"Maybe we should go check it out, there may be vandals there. My dad said people have been breaking into old houses up here a lot lately" Cole said.
"Vandels!?" I replyed.
"Yeah, I heard some kids at school talking about partying at one of the vacant houses around here. It couldnt hurt our popularity to actually go to a party here and there." he said.
"Oh...yea I suppose it couldnt hurt. So i'll meet you outside your house around 6 okay? I said"
"Yeah sure dont worry I know your shy but youll have me there so youll be fine". He replyed.
"Okay Cole see ya soon"
I used to wonder why Cole was my friend, he was the first friend I had in along time. I know he was curious on why I dressed so girly but he was polite and never asked me.
That night came I had eaten dinner and told my mom and dad I was going out with Cole for the night. They trusted him so it wasn't a big deal. We met up about a block away from the old house.
"Cole, are you sure we should do this…?"
"Of course aren't you just a little bit curious why that place is all locked up and yet we saw some one inside yet we never see anyone leave?" Cole said.
"Well yeah but...you'll protect me right Cole"?
"Of course little lady" He said.
"Lady huh?" I replied.
"Erm that kind of just slipped out anyways we should prolly go in from the back its heavily wooded and the old wall doesn't cover that area" He said.
"Wow did you like stake this place out or some thing?"
"Sort of, just a little ROTC recon mission"
"Cole your such a military geek..."I said"
We entered the park and headed into the forest the house was at least a half mile into the forest behind the park. "Its so dark out here...why didnt we bring flash lights again Cole"?
"Because if there is some one there they would see us coming."
I held his arm really tightly as we walked through the dense forest I could tell he was nervous having me so close to him like that but he didn't seem to want to push me away either...maybe he was scared to...As we approached the house we could see a light on, on the third floor.
"Hey Cole look here the light is on there HAS to be some one in there."
"Hmmm this is interesting" he said. As we got closer we could see where the wall had been repaired.
"Damn I could of sworn this wall was broken a few months ago when I was out here."
"Cole...were you out here playing soilder boy again?" I said.
He turned beat red with embarrassment.
"No! I was doing biology homework on diffrent types of leaves" he replyed.
I laughed a little "Sure...homework"
"Shhhh I heard some thing" he said I could hear branches breaking all around me my heart began to race every thing was dark and I was scared. I held on to Cole as tight as I could.
"Cole...I want to go home"
"Yeah me to" I took off and started to run, I had never ran so fast in my entire life. Cole was right behind me.
"Run Ashley just run" he said I kept running but I tripped over a some thing and hit my head. Every thing went dark and that's the last time I saw Cole or anyone I recongized. I guess that brings us to today....
Chapter 2 Trials
"So Ashley is your name". said the mysterious woman who stood over the bed I was resting in. She had been questioning me for about 20 minutes on what happend.
"Ashley do you know where you are?"
"Um...no...she replied.
"Your inside the house you and your little friend were snooping around behind".
"Oh I almost forgot about Cole is he alright!?
"He is being dealt with...dont you worry about that little one"
"Im sorry we were snooping"
"You know people are here now and that leaves me with very few options. You see outsiders are not permited to know we are here" she said.

"People like your self and your little friend. We live a very private life. Now I have a question for you Ashley."

"Are you a boy or a girl? When Jennifer brought you in here to tend to your wound she changed your shirt because it was muddy and had blood on it. She was startled to find you had breasts."
Ashley looked very nervous. "Im a...I dont know" she said
The woman had a look of curiosity on her face and looked quite puzzeled. "You dont know what you are!?" She said in amazement.

"I wasnt always a girl physically...when I was born my parents thought they had a son but by age 3 it was clear that wasnt the case...My family my father most of all tried to ignore it and in turn so just ignored me instead.
"I see...so down there...there is a..." the woman said
"Yes..." she slowly noded

"Jennifer will be in, in a moment to change your bandages now if youll excuse me I have to tend to another matter.
Just then there was a knock at the door. It was the little girl with a tray of bandages and ointments.
"Hi there my names Jenny whats yours?"
"Ashley..."
"Oh thats a pretty name I like it.Now im just going to change this bandage okay? It might sting a little...you took a pretty bad fall."

"Oh dont worry im always careful im always helping with the younger kids when they scrape their knees or bang a elbow."
"So do you live here?" Ashley said.
"Yes I do"
"But...ive never seen anyone outside before and I walk past here every day."
"Well we did just move in...plus alot of the other students havnt arrived yet"
"Oh I see" Ashley said.
"Yay well all done just get some rest and im sure youll make a good recovery and it shouldnt scar either not with my special herbs."
"Thank you Jenny. Have you always lived here where did you come from how did you get here"? Ashley said
"My parents sent me here"
"Dont you go outside to play or to the store?" Ashley replied.
"Of course silly we just havnt had the time yet. Well I need to be going I have to help with dinner youll join us wont you oh please say yes."
"I...I think am rather hungry."
"Oh goodie I'll make my special dumplings just for you!"
Ashley smiled "your such a cute little girl."
Jennifer blushed and skiped out of the room and down the hall.
"Ashley wondered what kind of place was this"
The woman returned shotly after Jennifer had left. "Ah well i see she cleaned you up. My name is Elizabeth you can call me teacher or Lizzy if you choose im very liberal with my girls so dont be afraid to ask any questions."
"I have a question what kind of place is this?"
"Its a boarding house for privledged girls whos parents dont want them spoiled by the world and boys. Personally I think boys are little rodents their dirty sneaky and always up to no good."
"Not all boys are like that!" she shouted.

"That is a real shame dear that you have been forced to live how you have for so long."
Ashley sniffled "I know...Ive hated my self for so long I just want to curl up and die"
"We are offering a scholarship to underpriveldged girls this year do you think youd like to come stay here with us, and be the girl you were born to be?"
"Do you really mean it??"
"Of course...I wouldnt get your hopes up for nothing its my choice who gets the scholarship."

Ashley smiled "I accept, but I would like to call my mother and tell her where I am.

Ashley walked over to the phone and called her mother and let her know she was alright. "Mom is relived but wants me to go home right away could you drive me Lizzy?"
"Id be happy to dear meet me down stairs and ill bring the car around"
Moments later Ashley heard a BEEP of a horn and she walked outside and climbed into the car.
"What will we tell my parents...My dad wont agree to let me go to a girls school and live at a boarding house"
"I can pursuade him trust me...I havnt met a man yet who hasnt given me what I want"
Ashley giggled "I dont know he is pretty stubborn"
"We shall see" Replied Lizzy
They pulled into the driveway moments later, as Ashleys house was only a few blocks away.
"Mommy" Ashley said as she huged her mom tightly"
"Oh baby I thought some thing awful had happend to you.
"No im ok I only banged my head this nice lady took care of me"
"Thank you so much for taking care of him" I dont even know your name." Ashleys mother said
"Elizabeth Reinhold, and it was a pleasure looking after Ashley"
"Please wont you come inside I have some tea on the stove"
They entered the middle class house and entered the kitchen.
"Ashley honey is your head okay should I take you to a doctor?"
"No mommy I think im fine they took good care of me."
"Whats with this mommy bussiness you never call me that and why are you so cheerful?"
Elizabeth cleared her throat "I belive I can awnser that question. You see I run a boarding house for privledged girls and I have invited Ashley to join us totally free of charge of course.Schooling is also provided at Crestmere.
"But! Crestmere is a girls school!?" her mother said.
"Indeed it is, hav'nt you notice that Ashley is a girl madam?"

"I will be taking full responsiblity for Ashley while shes under my care. I will also make it my personal bussiness to make sure she looks the part so the other students dont tease her and discourage her from a good edjucation"
"Thank you...I could never hope to give him the edjucation he deserves hes so bright...and I mean...She I guess this is so strange its going to take along time to get used to."

"Oh mommy they are having dinner tonight over at the house jennifer said she was cooking some thing special for me. Can I go back I'll come home right after I promiss."
"Alright dear but dont be gone to late okay?"
"I wont" She replied.
"I love you so much sweety I just want you to be happy"
"Well we should be off then Ashley dinner will be ready in moment. Good day madam"
They returned to the boarding house within minutes the table in the main hall was set with beautiful china and jennifer sat the last chair on the right side of the table wearing beautiful dress.
"Hi Ashley! Im glad you came back!"
"Me too mmmm that smells so nice!"
She nodded a bit "I made it just for you. Are you going to change before dinner?"
"Change?"
"You arnt going to wear those yucky clothes to dinner are you?"
"I...I dont have any thing else to wear..."
"Come up stairs with me and i'll help you find some thing" Elizabeth replied"
"Yes mam" she followed behind her new head misstress
"This is my daughters room but Im sure she wont mind you borrowing some of her clothes for the evening"
"You mean girl clothes?"
"Of course this is a girls school after all"
"I have never really worn....any thing like this before"
"It seems I have my work cut out for me..."
She went through the closet and pulled out a beautiful red dress and matching shoes. The shoes had straps and a buckle around the ankle.
Ashley looked nervous as she looked at the dress "Thats really pretty is it for me?"
"Yes dear and these shoes are a good matchI think"
Elizabeth went over to the dresser and pulled out some nylons and a pair of panties and a 34 A bra "Yes I think this will do nicely"
"Okay dear take off your clothes" She said
Ashley slowly got undressed and down to her breifs

Elizabeth held out the dress "Step into it please"
She did as she was told and steped into the red gown and slowly felt it zip up the back. "Now for the shoes im sure you know how to put these on"
"Yes mam" she replied
"Okay come down for dinner when your ready dear
Ashely stood up in the shoes and walked over to the mirror what she saw totally shocked her as she wasnt quite prepared for what she saw. A beautiful 16 year old girl staring back at her. Ashley felt weak in the knees and a tear rolled down her cheek, this was the same girl she always saw in her dreams and thought of her self being.
"I love you" She said to her self in the mirror and she quickly walked down the hall her heels making a clicky click sound as she walked across the hard wood floors.
Chapter 3 Changes
"Oh you look beautiful Ashley" a voice echoed from the main hall
"Thank you" Ashley walked into the main hall and sat down next to Jennifer and across from Elizabeth.

"I will" Replied Ashley.
"I hope you find every thing to your likeing here Ashley and if you need any help adjusting please dont be afraid to ask"
Ashley noded and began to eat her dinner. She remember her and cole running through the forest to get away from the lights and sounds following them.
"Lizzy where is Cole you said he was being dealt with"
"We called his step father and he left before you woke up but lets not worry about that. Classes start in 3 months, Your school year was coming to a end correct?"
"Yes I only had a week left"
"You wont have to finish that week you can spend that time getting settled in here"
"Thank you, im very happy you think im good enough to go to crestmere"
"Oh I think your very special Ashley and dont let any one ever tell you other wise" She smiled.
Ashley blushed a little.
"Ashley do you think you can sleep in my room tonight?" Asked jenny
"No afraid not I have to go home tonight but Im sure we can have a little slumber party some time soon"
"Oh okay I wont forget!"
Ashley giggled "you bet! I wouldnt miss it for any thing"
Dinner went smoothly Elizabeth talked to Ashley about student life and her future jenny kept admiring Ashley from afar.
"Dinner was amazing jenny especially your dumplings"
"Thank you Im honored"
"Ashley would you like me to show you your room before you heas home?"
"Oh! I would love to"
"Alright, right this way then"
Elizabeth took ashley up to the second floor and showed her a elegant room with a large canopy bed and beautiful furnature.
"THIS IS MY ROOM" Ashley yelled in disbeleif
"Yes, its one of our luxury rooms, if you dont like it I can arrange for you to live in the dorms."
"NO NO I love it! Its to pretty and feminine ive never had a room like this before" Ashley fell back on to the bed and couldnt belive what was happening to her.
Elizabeth smiled "Its good to see you so happy it really warms my heart to know how happy you are"
Ashley sat up and walked over to Elizabeth and gave her a big hug "You saved my life lizzy" she said in a tearful voice. "Thank you"
"Your welcome Ashley would you like a ride home?"
Ashley nodded
"Very well i'll have my driver take you home, you may leave when ever your ready dear" Elizabeth left the room and closed the door.
Ashley layed back down on the bed and just stared at the ceiling. This was her new room, her new life the life she had always wanted but wasnt allowed to have. The feelings and emotions over whelmed her.
"Jenny how is our little guest?"

Morning came, and Elizabeth was hard at work all night long she returned to the cellar at 7 am and unlocked the door to the small room where Cole was being held captive.
"Rise and shine" She said

Elizabeth unlocked the small basement room and went inside.
