Diamonds In The Ruff

by John Hudson

TUESDAY

It is now Tuesday morning as Julie awakes to the sound of a quiet sunny morning and the sound of birds chirping in the air. Julie decides on a warm shower to remove the grit from last night and picks out a yellow blouse to wear with her black skirt and the now diamond laden 4.5" spiked black heels. After the shower, she slowly blows her hair dry and slips on a new white "C" cup bra and a new silky smooth slip also purchased last night. White panties and then freshly washed suntan stockings hooked to a white suspender belt follow. The black skirt is tight as it goes up her smooth nylon covered legs, but the slit at the back will allow for a good step. The yellow blouse is snug against her breasts but highlight her figure nicely. The stiletto heels are next. Julie feels especially pleased and "grown up" as she leaves the bathroom and goes to the kitchen for a large glass of cranberry juice and an English muffin.

Breakfast completed, Julie begins her walk to the bus stop about 4 blocks away. The steady click click click of her high heels reminds her of the confidence she has in herself. Once again she is reminded of the relationship with John and that it is not just a relationship built on trust, but upon the power of Jesus in her life. As she walks she realizes that if it were not for the spiritual power invested in her through Christ her life would be worthless. She also realizes that her relationship with John is really special and that she really needs him and the confidence he portrays in Christ with her during this time.

Once at the bus stop she sits on the bench for a few minutes to pray for wisdom and discernment before the bus arrives a few minutes later. Her ride to town is uneventful, but full of wonder at the appreciation she and John have for each other and of his protection. Her second 4-block to work is also uneventful and she enters her office with a renewed measure of confidence in herself and the diamond situation. She has decided that beginning today fellow employees are not going to get the normal "woe is me" attitude, but instead a confidence and joy that comes from knowing who she is about. She has also decided that today will be a rest away from John tonight. A peaceful ride home, home-cooked meal and some TV are what she craves most for this night.

ON THE OTHER FRONT

Lucy wakes up with about the same ritual as Julie this morning, only she dresses in a blue skirt and blouse with blue heels. There is also another significant difference. Attitude! Lucy is out to get others, especially Julie. Her mission for the day is to once again go back to Julie's home and search high and low for the diamonds. This plays right into her life's mission, that being to make life miserable for others and to get all she can while still young enough to enjoy it. Bruce is up as well and sees her off as Lucy gets into her 98 Honda Accord and begins her drive to Julie's home.

Once in the neighborhood, Lucy decides to park the car about a block away and walk the remainder of the nearly one block area to the home without trying to arouse undo suspicion about what she is doing. She carries a bag of Tupperware to a couple of homes on the way pretending to be a sales person. As she suspects, the homes she picked did not have anyone home.

As she approaches the front door to Julie's home she is confident she can get in. A typical knock on the door gets the same response as the two other homes she stopped at. However, this time instead of moving on to another home she steps to the side of the house and leaves the bag just around the corned before proceeding to a window at the side of the house. As she walks she has forgotten how damp the ground is from recent rains and her heels desperately try to sink into the ground as she walks. "Darn, she thinks, I really should have worn different shoes". Once outside the window she uses a small penknife from her purse to pry open the screen. She is thankful for the bushes that protect her from the house next door as well as for her foresight in unhooking the screen on Sunday when she and Bruce were there. She slowly raises the window as high as she can, which is just barely going to be good enough to get inside. She had forgotten that the bottom of the window came to her waist and now remembers why she needed to wear the 4.5" heels. After three tries she finally gets enough momentum to get her head inside the window and her tummy resting on the windowsill. She slowly works her way into the house headfirst. As she moves inside she can feel her shoes beginning to work their way off her feet and has to keep her feet above her knees in order to keep the shoes on. Once inside, she pulls Kleenexes from her purse to clean the mud from her shoes. This done she gets up and retrieves the screen and puts it in place and tethers it to the hooks. The last step is to lower the window and clean the scene so no one will be able to tell that she has gotten inside.

The first place Lucy goes is upstairs to Julie's room once again. She looks around to see everything in place and no obvious places where the diamonds are. Not that she suspected such, but then she thinks, "one never knows". Lucy's objective here is to locate a safe in the wall or a closet and so she embarks on this venture. After looking for 45 minutes in every nook she can think of she finds a small box behind a wall picture. It is so small that she almost overlooks it, but then stops dead. Her hands tremble as she once again uses the penknife to open the safe. Nothing there! "Rats", she comments to herself. She slowly examines the inside of the box and identifies a very minor white dust like material, which she supposes, came from the diamonds. Looking in the trash she finds a very small plastic bag, which she recognizes as the same bag, she had given to Julie for "safekeeping" when they had robbed the store. She puts this bag into her purse along with the penknife.

Lucy then spends the next several minutes going through the other rooms looking for another safe behind a picture or other unsuspecting objects. Feeling frustrated she decides to make one last try and go into the attic. She locates an entrance above a closet. However, it is only a panel in the wood ceiling that can be pushed aside. Lucy then retrieves a table from a nearby room and stands on it. She can put her head and upper torso through the hole and is again thankful for the extra 4.5" in height from the shoes and for the corset she is wearing which has squeezed her waist to just enough to get through the opening. With great effort she slowly pulls herself up into the opening. Then with a small penlight flashlight from her blue purse she searches the attic carefully. She is careful to crawl only on the hard wood of the attic floor and stay away from the pink insulation. A very careful search yields nothing out of the ordinary and now it is time to return to the interior of the house. Carefully she lowers herself feet first toward the table top and then seeing that she is still almost a foot from the table decides to remove her shoes in order to keep from losing her balance when she lands on the table. This is not the easiest thing to do while suspended in air by her arms. She slowly lets each shoe slip off the heel of her foot and then drop to the floor before making a final drop to the tabletop in stocking feet. Then she replaces the attic opening and jumps down to the floor and moves the table back where she got it and smoothes over the leg marks in the carpet with her stocking feet. She then searches this bathroom closet and the rest of the bathroom before putting her shoes back on. Before leaving she goes through each room to make sure there are no traces of mud or material from her clothing, which might make Julie, think someone had been there.

Once out of the house Lucy retrieves the Tupperware bag and walks the block or so back to the car. Lucy is now pretty confident that the diamonds are not in the house and must be on Julie herself. She gets into her car and drives back to the apartment that she and Bruce share in a not too good part of town.

When Lucy gets to the apartment she finds Bruce cooking some lunch. "Hi," she says as she walks in. "Hi yourself," Bruce says. "Welllllll did you find anything interesting," "Yes and No", Lucy comments. "I found the bag I gave Julie after the heist, but no diamonds. I figure she has them on her person somewhere. I searched the house from top to bottom. Even went into the attic. I found absolutely nothing." "How did you get into the attic dressed like that?" "Very carefully! One of the very few times I was actually grateful to a corset, tight skirt and 4.5" heels." Lucy comments as she goes to the sofa and sits down with her feet curled up beside her. "What have you been up to this morning?" Lucy comments stroking her ankles and sides of her shoes. "I have been here most of the morning, except for a 10 minute walk to get a paper and mail some letters and bills," Bruce comments. "Do you think you could make yourself useful as well as ornamental by setting the table?" "Sure", Lucy says getting up slowly from the sofa because of the tight skirt. She can feel the seams really begin to strain as she gets up. Lucy glides over to the linen cabinet and removes a couple of placemats and then to the silverware drawer for knives, glasses and back to the frig for ice and then to the table to put ice and tea into the glasses. Bruce admires Lucy, as she seems to fairly fly easily from place to place despite the tight skirt and high heels. Finally they are ready to sit down. Lucy welcomes Bruce pulling the chair out for her and sighs a relief as she sits down. "Tired?" Bruce comments knowing full well that this is an understatement. "Yes, Quite," Lucy says. "This diamond thing has been quite an ordeal. I am ready for it to be done. I really did not think Julie would try to double-cross us like this" She comments. "Well, can't say as I blame her. "$10,000 in diamonds is a lot to be greedy over." They eat in silence awhile and then Bruce feels the toe of Lucy's shoe moving along his leg. It begins at his ankle and moves slowly up his leg to his knee. Then he feels the soft nylon of her stocking from the top of her foot on his trousers as she goes back down to his ankle. The feeling is sensuous and tingling at the same time.

Bruce calls a short halt to this scene as he rises to get them more tea. Turning from the fridge he notices that Lucy has her right heel hooked in the rung of the chair and the left foot is crossed over as before. As he arrives at the table he can see that the reinforced heel of her foot and the top to a garter are beginning to show. "Is this on purpose he wonders?" He sits and the top of her foot again comes in contact with the bare skin near his ankle. Slowly Lucy moves her foot around his ankle inching more of his pants leg up and his socks down to expose more skin. He can also begin to sense the 4.5" heel around his skin and then the slow sensation of Lucy working her shoe off as she massages the skin with the bottom of her foot with the shoe dangling on her toes. At this point Bruce reaches down and takes the shoe off her foot and lays it below him and then massages Lucy's toes. "Oh that feels so o o good", Lucy says wiggling her foot and letting the nylon continue to caress Bruce's ankle. "Shall we move elsewhere", Lucy suggests as she uncrosses her leg and gets up from the table and slides her shoe back on. "I thought your foot was tired", Bruce quizzes. "It is and my other one is r-e-a-l-l-y tired and sore, but I can't get back to the bedroom on one shoe and I don't want you to try and carry me again, so putting it back on is the easiest thing." Lucy remarks.

Since it is only mid afternoon of an only day they have together Lucy suggests to Bruce that they take a walk and or ride to town and just spend the day in each other's presence. This strikes Bruce as a bit weird since Lucy was acting sexy, but just dismisses it as feminine changes. "I guess so", he comments. "Well, then lets go", Lucy comments while heading for the door. "You feeling alright", Bruce comments. "First you play "footsie" under the table and now you want to go to town and shop". How weird", he says. "Do you want to change clothes and get more comfortable", Bruce comments. "No, sweetheart". "I think I'll just continue to tantalize you with this outfit. I can tell it is having a very good effect on you", Lucy says heading out the back door and down the outside stairs. Bruce enjoys the view as Lucy heads down the stairs with her blue skirt just wanting to burst at the seams with each step. There is just barely enough room for her to make the step down without binding the skirt in the back.

Once downstairs they get into Lucy's Accord and make a short 30-minute drive to town. Parking is a premium and they end up parking about 3 blocks from their desired destination in the middle of town. They set off walking to the new Dillards. It is not really as bad a walk as Lucy had imagined it could be, but still by the time a couple of blocks has passed Lucy can feel a hot sweat beginning to form inside her shoes from the heat off the pavement. The height of the heels is also having an effect on her walk in such a tight skirt. She can sense the skirt just wanting to burst at the seams. The store is cool to her skin and especially her legs as they walk into the AC. "You know Bruce one of the reasons I kept this outfit on is that I would like to find a purse and belt that will compliment it. What I have is an off-color Blue and this purse doesn't match properly", she says. "Ok", I'm with you then. Anything I can do to help", he quips. "Yes you can look in that sale stuff in the corner there for either of these items in the color of my shoes", Lucy quips. They proceed to look and about a half hour later Bruce finds a coin purse, and a belt in the exact color. Lucy can't believe her luck. As they pay for the items Bruce hangs back and watches as Lucy slips her foot totally out of her right shoe and plays with it by letting her foot ride up and down the heel and then she struggles back into it. Quite a show he comments to himself. As they walk toward the front of the store Lucy notices some scarfs. She stops to examine them again giving Bruce a show as she slips her foot from the other shoe and plays with it a moment before putting it on. After what seems like an eternity Lucy picks a nice scarf and again goes to pay for it. "Would you mind being a dear and getting the car and coming back to pick me up", Lucy comments. "I really can't face another 4-block walk with these shoes on". "Be glad to", Bruce comments and heads back to get the car.

Once outside in the heat of the afternoon Lucy feels the temperature building in her shoes as she patiently waits for Bruce by the curb. After 5 minutes she says. "I can't take this heat off the concrete on these thin soles anymore." She then walks back into the shade in front of the store windows. Using the bricks just off the cement she slips a shoe off and with her leg bent runs her foot in and out of the shoe and even on the pavement to give it a rest. She then repeats this action with the other shoe before Bruce arrives to see the tail end of this foot action. I wonder what is going to happen now as she approaches the car, opens the door and sits down beside me.

"What time is it", Lucy asks as she slides into the seat beside Bruce. "It's about 4:30", he comments. "Want to do a movie." "Oh, that would be terrific," Lucy comments. "Cool AC, and a movie at the same time," she quips. "How about the "The Vixen," Bruce suggests spying the theater just up ahead. "Fine with me," says Lucy. Bruce makes a couple of blocks and finds a parking place pretty close to the theater. "This is really grand of you," comments Lucy as she gets out of the car. They have no problem walking the block and a half to the theater. Bruce can't help notice that it is one of the older theaters in town and the pillars are stunning as they walk inside. After buying popcorn and drinks they head for the theater. As they sit waiting the 15 minutes for the movie to start Bruce again notices the columns and pure early 20th Century architecture. Just before the start of the movie Bruce's thoughts drift to Lucy's shoes. She is munching on the popcorn and drink and just glad to be indoors out of the 96o heat. She has her shoes planted on the floor and knees together. The movie goes off without a hitch. It is enjoyable and the relaxation is good for them both.

It is now 7:00 when they leave the theater and time for something to eat. On the walk back from the movie to the car they stop in at a local Coney Islander and have a couple of hot dogs. This done they walk back to the car and begin the trip home. It has truly been a restful day for them both, despite the inability to catch up with the diamonds and Julie. Well tomorrow is a new day they comment as they walk into their apartment.

Lucy sits down in the sofa and curls her feet up beside her. Bruce, on the other hand straightens up the apartment some from the afternoon dishes and talks. He watches Lucy as she sits letting her hands run slowly up and down her legs. Eventually, her hands venture to her shoes and she slowly slips one shoe off her heel and begins rubbing it affectionately. This is really mesmerizing to Bruce as he watches from a distance. She rubs the heel of her foot first then moving to the instep and finally to her toes. When she gets to the toes she gently picks the shoe up and lets it drop to the floor. She seems to do all of this from memory. A few minutes later she does the second shoe like the first and they are soon both on the floor. Bruce turns on the TV and they watch a few minutes and then Lucy gets up and picks up her shoes and gives Bruce a long tantalizing kiss before heading up the stairs to their bedroom. Needless to say, Bruce is not far behind. "There has to be more to this day," he says as he glides up the stairs to their bedroom.
