Dream Shoes

by: Kelley Rigney

The other night I had a dream that was tantalizing. I am not an outward crossdresser and spend most of my "girl" time reading fiction and wishing I had the money, time, energy, and clothes to do so. However, I do have a small collection of shoes that I wear when the opportunity avails itself. I sort of have a liking for shoes. That’s my weakness like for some of you that might have a liking for dresses, pantyhose, panties, etc.

My wife recently bought a pair of shoes at a chain shoes store. I must say, I wish she had bought me a pair too! They were black comfort flats. "Comfort" is a perfect description of what they look like. While she was out grocery shopping one day I slipped part of my foot in one of them and they were very comfortable feeling, even though only part of my foot could fit into them. I knew at that time, I needed a pair just like them.

I devised a plan. I would go to the shoe store or one of the chains and buy me a pair under the pretense of Halloween. I searched the net at the store’s website and discovered they had the same shoes in an 11. They did. My heart slightly raced at just the thought of buying them. It’s been a long time since I went shopping for "Kelley’s feet". In a few days I would go and get me a pair of those shoes!

The dream:

The night before my buying experience I had a dream about me walking into the shoes store. This is the account with some tweaking.

I entered into the store and walked directly to the women’s section, size 11. As I had anticipated, there was a sales clerk asking if she could help. "May I help you sir?" she said. I responded, "Yes, I’m looking for a particular shoe for Halloween." I saw the exact pair I came looking for to my lower left in the right size. "I’m dressing as my pregnant wife for Halloween." She said, "What are you looking for? Heels?" "No." I said, "We’ll be out for a while and I’m looking for a pair of black flats that will be comfortable for a lot of walking. Like these." I pointed to the shoes and then picked them up.

I had thought that merely picking up the shoes and paying for them would be all that I would have to do. But Nooooo. "Would you like to try them on before you buy them?" she responded. "No, I think they will do."

She continued, "Sir, maybe you should try them on before you buy them. They might not be as comfortable as they look. Granted, I know personally that these shoes are comfortable, but you might not."

I agreed to try them on and so I sat down on a bench and slid off my right shoe and put the right flat on. It was wonderful! "You might as well put the left one on too. It might fit differently." Trying not to look like I was in too much of a hurry, I put the other on as well. The sales clerk then suggested that I walk around in them. I stood up and walked down the aisle. Nervously, I said, "These will do."

When I looked back up the sales girl had picked up my shoes and put them in the box the flats came in. She had an awkward look on her face and said, "Why don’t you take a stroll around the mall for an hour and then when you come back, I’ll give you back your shoes." "What?" She said, "Oh come on. Do you think I can fall for the Halloween bit 100s of times this time of the year? You want the shoes? Well, you can have them! I’m not giving your men’s shoes back to you until you walk around the mall in those for an hour." Come back no sooner than an hour and I will give you your male shoes back. I’ll let you pay for your sissy shoes when you get back."

I was defeated, or for better words deflated. I walked out of the store wearing women’s flats and was expected to spend an hour in the mall wearing them. The entire hour felt like a lifetime. A few people noticed and snickered at my sissified feet, but not too many as people don’t pay too much attention to shoes.

After the hour was up, I came back to the store. "Look, it’s the sissy shoe freak!" the girl said. Other customers looked on, but then they minded their own business. "Here" she said, "We have a buy one get another half off sale so I selected you another pair of shoes. I selected these for you." She held out a pair of white canvas sneakers. I angrily said, OK, just give me back my shoes and I’ll buy these too. "Not to fast," she said, "Try them on. Take your socks off and put them on." I did as I was told and gave her the flats and my socks, and put the sneakers on. She reached down and rolled my pant leg up to just above my ankle so the shoes and my skin were in plain view. "Now, my little sissy shoe freak can spend another hour shopping in these shoes. It’s my lunch break so you can come with me shopping. And you better not roll your pants leg down or I will scream and the security will be all over you.

She motioned to her grinning coworker that she was leaving for lunch and said she would be back in an hour. We walked out of the store with my bare ankles and white canvas sneakers in plain view.

We stopped at every shoe store in the mall and she had me try on women’s shoes after shoe after shoe. I tried on heels, sandals, tennis shoes, and boots. Some of the people that waited on us were men. Male or female, they got a chuckle out of my predicament. Especially since she kept calling me her sissy shoe freak.

We were through in an hour and a half. We came back into her store. I had been caught and humiliated, and I was tired. She gave me my shoes back, and as I was putting my male shoes back on, she put the two pair of shoes into a bag. I paid for the purchases and left. As I was leaving, she hollered at me and said, loud enough for many to hear, "Come back soon when you have a sissy need to dress up your feet!"

I did buy the shoes for real. They were great, but of course the dream did not occur. I got an awkward look, but that was it.

I hope you have had similar stories develop form dreams.
