I Was a Teenage Vampire                    by: Paul G Jutras

It was early fall and Reggie Shack sat with a glum face at his desk in his maroon turtle neck and blue jeans. He brushed his long blonde hair off his shoulders and took his glasses off to clean the lens. Glancing out the window, he saw multicolor leaves falling gently to a ground starting to be cover with frost.

"Reggie Shack!" Mrs. Starch asked with her white hair done up in a bun. Her painted nails curled around a wooden ruler and taped her palm while she moved around in her old fashion dress. Mrs. Starch was the type to put most of the class to sleep, so Reggie staring out the window was an easy sight to spot.

"Do you know what I'm talking about?"

"Uh, Newton's law of gravity?" Reggie said quickly.

"That was the last half of the semester, young man." Mrs. Starch said as the laugher of those not asleep awoke the others. The laughers continued as he changed his stuff in his locker and headed home. As he stepped off the school's front steps, a leg stretched out and tripped Reggie. The books containing his homework scattered about the ground as he looked up at Ross Tomkins.

"Nice fall isn't it, four eyes." Flash laughed with his football friends and the cheerleaders. "Why don't you get a hair cut before one of my teammates forget you're not a girl and asks you out by mistake."

"Why don't you back off before I decide to give you a knuckle sandwich." Reggie got up and shouted into Flash's face. If his eyes weren't holding back tears, he'd notice that Flash's face was turning beat red with anger.

"You mouthing me?" Flash asked.

"No." Reggie said suddenly in a meek voice as he gathered his stuff and walked away from everyone starting to laugh again. The wind started to blow his hair back as he passed the mansion that had abandoned since the owner died back in the revolutionary war. He never understood why the town didn't just turn it into a museum if nobody intended to buy the place.

As he got home his mother was waiting for him at the bottom of the stairs. "Reggie, I'm worried about you." She said softly. "You're home so early every day. Don't you have any friends at all. A nice girl you'd like to date? All you do is come home, do your homework, watch a little TV and go to sleep."

"What friends." Reggie spoke without emotion. "I just want to be left alone."

"Hi Reggie." Amy said the next day at lunch period. "How's it going you hermit?"

"Fine." Reggie said coldly.

"Look, some of the girls invited me to a camping trip this weekend." Amy said. "It's only suppose to be us girls, but how'd you like to come along?"

"I don't know, Amy." Reggie said taking a sip from his carton of milk and playing with his emerald necklace. "I do have studying to do for Mrs. Starch class. I need to get back on her good side."

"Like she even has one." Amy said as one of the cheerleaders walked over.

"Why do you waste time on that basket case?" Becky asked as Amy sighed while being dragged back to the popular table. "if you want to continue to hang with us you need to pick your friends more carefully."

On the way home that day, Reggie couldn't believe what he had seen. Someone was moving into the manor. While normally Reggie would walk right by, he found the movers almost pushing and shoving him toward thee front door. Once inside, he stared at the candle light entry hall with a painting of 1700s Nobel man at the top.

"May I help you, young lady." A voice spoke to the very feminine looking school kid. Reggie spun around to see the spitting image of the person in the painting. Even the outfit was the same.

"You... You look like." Reggie said as he fainted from the shock of seeing someone over two hundred yours old in front of him. When he recovered, he was laying on a den sofa with the young man sitting next to him.

"You okay?" The man asked.

"Yes." Reggie said as he reached over to the end table and collected his glasses. "You look just like Gallery Fence, the original owner of this house."

"That's because I am Gallery Fence." Gallery said as his pupils glowed red and his fangs slid down into sight in his mouth. A vampire bit me and the towns folks drove me out of town. Lucky for me, today most people don't believe in the super natural. Don't worry my dear. Like my friend Ben Franklin, I too was into science. I found an artificial means of feeding myself."

"Wow." Reggie glared over his glasses. "I real vampire."

"Since you know my secret, feel free to drop by anytime." Gallery said as he escorted Reggie to the door.

The next day, Reggie was passing the manor when the gates creaked open on their own. Seeing it as an invitation, he went inside only to have the gates to clang shut behind them. He entered the house just in time to see Gallery flying across the room into one of the walls. "What's going on?' he asked.

"Gallery!" Reggie screamed in concern when he turned and saw a bat headed man flying across the room and knocking Reggie to the ground. "You shouldn't of come back to this town, Fence!" the other vampire screeched. "Making friends instead of corpses. What kind of vampire are you?"

"Get off of her!" Gallery shouted as he shoved the Emperor of the vampires out of the window and pulled Reggie into the next room. "Normally I'm not a blood drinker, but the only way to keep him from killing you is to change you into a vampire."

"Me, a vampire?" Reggie said nervously. "I... I don't know."

"As long as you only drink the serum and not blood you can go out in the sun and live a almost normal life." Gallery said as the vampire emperor's fist came crashing through the door behind them. "No time to decide!"

As Gallery's fang sank into Reggie's neck, he suddenly felt a dizziness. He went limp in the vampire's arms as his nipples swelled into a pair of C-cup breasts and his body altered into a sexy feminine figure. The vampire blood that filled Reggie's lips made it appear like he had lipstick on and his cock retracted into his body.

Feeling the blood lust strength of just being turned, Reggie grabbed the Emperor Vampire as he came smashing through the door. With the increase strength and fury, Regina tossed the vampire out of the house and drove him away before collapsing on the ground.

When Regina woke in a canopied bed, she shifted to sit up and felt the weight of her new breasts. With a pass on her hand to move the hair from her face, she put her glasses on and saw that her body was indeed real. "What have you done to my body?"

"I had notice how plain your body looked when I first saw you my dear girl and though you'd love a dream body," Mr. Fence said in a confused state.

"I wasn't a girl!" Regina shouted. "Sure I looked like one in a way, but I wasn't."

"Oh dear." Mr. Fence smiled. "I didn't know and I can't change you back."

"It's okay Regina dear." Mrs. Shack said. "I was confused myself when Mr. Fence said that he did over the phone and told me to come over. Maybe as a daughter you can become popular."

"I have an idea." Mr. Fence said. "Regina, you and your mother can move in with me. I can help protect you from the Vampire Emperor and you can pretend Regina is related to me. Reggie can have gone away to boarding school or something."

Regina didn't like the idea, but saw no choice. With Halloween just around the corner, a party would be a great way to come out and become popular. She didn't even need to buy fake fangs when she went to a store and got herself a blood red lady vampire outfit that reminded Regina of Mrs. Addams from The Addams Family show.

"I'm glad you decide to help me decorate the mansion for my party." Regina said to Amy as she got to know Amy and her old friends quite well during the all girl camping trip the weekend before. What thing that did bother her was that Flash wasn't seen since his transformation. Not that she wanted Flash to be hitting on the new her. Then one day she opened her locker and found a note inside.

"YOUR DEAD!" was written in dried blood.

"Who could be playing a joke on me." Regina thought as she went through lunch and classes always looking over her shoulder and jumping at every little noise. She only smile and nodded whenever any of the kids mentioned the party at the mansion.

After gym class Amy and Regina entered the girls locker room when Amy notice that Regina didn't have a reflection in the wall mirror. As Amy fainted into Regina's arms, Regina quickly concentrated to recreate her reflection. It was now a matter of will power to be seen in the mirror.

"What happened?" Becky asked as Amy rested her head on Regina's lap and made Regina wish she was still Reggie.

"I don't know." Regina said as Amy came too and opened her eyes. "You okay?"

"I... I don't know." Amy said in a daze. Regina felt relief that the idea of a person having no mirror reflection was so crazy, that her mind just blocked the whole ordeal out.

While Amy and Becky helped Mrs. Shack and Mr. Fence finish decorating for the party, Regina went down into the basement and took the formula so she wouldn't vamp out and turn on her guests during the party. She returned upstairs to hear the girls laughing as Regina's mom put too much air into a balloon and caused it to pop.

By the time the guests arrived Mr. Fence was dressed in his Green Hornet outfit and Mrs. Shack was a female Kato. The party was everything Regina had always wanted to have for a party when she was Reggie. That was until there was a knock on the door. Regina already knew that everyone was already at the party.

Mr. Fence and Regina went to the door together. When they opened it they saw an army of zombies on the door steps along with the Emperor Vampire and a female vampire. "What do we do now?' Regina asked.

"Take them!" The Emperor ordered as the army of the undead started forward and Mr. Fence charged forward. Regina found her super vampire sense of smell was against her when she was knee deep in the army, using her super strength to smash the zombies apart.

"Get out of my way!" Regina shouted as she broke out of the zombies and landed at the feet of the female vampire.

"You mouthing me still?" The vampire hissed.

"Flash?" Regina said in shock.

"Not anymore thanks to you." Flo said with her face beat red with anger. "The Emperor Vampire figured after you defeated him that he needed a vampire you were afraid of to handle you. Unfortunately for me, he refers female concubines."

"Now that I'm as strong as you, I'm not afraid of you anymore." Regina floated into the air and through the former school bully back into the zombie crowd while Mr. Fence finished off the zombies that were left for good. With the zombies gone, the vampires retreated in defeat and the school kids cheered on the original Halloween party spook stunt.

Regina turned toward Mr. Fence thinking she was going to like being a teenage vampire.
