Mr. Mom                  by: Paul G Jutras

"Hurry up mommy!" 6 year old Tommy called out to his 36 year old mother, Irene. "We don’t want to be late for The Great Chance!"

"Alright, Alright, dear." Irene said as she buttoned Tommy’s coat on him and grabbed her purse. "I know you’ve been looking forward to this ever since I first bought the tickets. Now we’re all ready. Get into the car and we’re off."

"Yeah!" Tommy screamed as he ran with a giggle up to the car and climbed into the back seat so his mother could buckle him up. "All ready, ready, ready, ready!"

"Alright now." Irene smiled. "You’re set and we are off to the show."

Tommy squirmed against the seat belt and reached for a stuffed white cat with pink ears, heart shape eyes and heart pendant on its collar. Tommy hugged it with a smile as he watched one telephone poll after another whiz by through the car window. His eagerness increasing with each mile they drove.

Soon they arrived at the at The Blockbuster Night Club parking lot. After parking, Irene helped Tommy out, who skipped on ahead and listed to a young married couple talking about how wonderful the magician is because he is rumored to do tricks no other magician does.

Hurry up mom!" Tommy called out as he stopped the front door. His mother could only go so fast in her two inch heels.

"I’m coming dear," she replied.

Meanwhile backstage, The Great Chance was finishing his dinner when a knock came at the door. "Ten minutes to show time sir," A voice called out as a stage hand opened the door. "You know sir, you really shouldn’t of ordered that take out. I heard the place got closed twice by the board of health."

"It was the only place that would deliver at this time of night." The Great Chance said as he finished his meal and prepared to go out on stage. Shortly after the stage hand went off, the magician clench his stomach and double over in painful stomach cramps. "Maybe he had a point, but the show must go on."

The audience clapped loudly as The Great Chance stepped out on stage. He took his bows and ignored his internal pain. "Thank you, thank you!" He said with a smile on his face. He did his best to hide the pain he felt. "May I have a few volunteers for my tricks."

"Mommy, Mommy!" Tommy yanked on his mother’s blouse sleeve. "Can we go up on the stage."

"I don’t believe in magic, but if you want to have some fun." Irene agreed as they got up and went up on stage along with a young married couple.

"What’s your names?" The Great Chance asked.

"I’m Irene Rocket and this is my son, Tommy." Irene said as she introduce themselves.

"How about you two?" The Great Chance asked.

"I’m Jim Wart and this is my wife June." The man in the three piece suit said to the woman in an evening gown and platform shoes. He held her close and gave her a kiss.

"I can see you truly love one another." The Great Chance said he turned back to the group. "My first trick has to deal with the young mother and boy. If you two will just stand over on these raised platforms, we’ll get starting."

Tommy stood on the platform marked 1 and Irene on a platform marked 2. With a movement of the arm, a pair of curtains were loved on top of them. There was the puffs of smoke and the curtains were raised. The audience now clapped when they saw Irene standing on mark 1 and Tommy was now on mark 2.

"Mommy?" Irene looked down at the little boy who looked up in confusion at the mother.

"There you have it!" The Great Chance called out. "There bodies have been swapped! Just have a seat at the side of the stage and I’ll switch you back at the end of the show with the others."

After another series of claps, The Great Chance rolled two boxes which he bolted upright. He then asked the married couple to stand in the vertical cabinets. After he closed them inside, he two cookie sheet looking saws and slide them into the proper areas so that they were divided into four perfectly square boxes.

The Great Chance opened the top boxes and showed their heads only inside. "How are you two feeling?" He asked.

"Pretty good," Jim said.

The Great Chance closed the boxes; got down on one knee and opened the bottom boxes to show only feet inside. "June, can you wiggle your toes for the audience?"

"Sure." Came a muffled voice from in the top box. The audience clapped some more to see that she could still move her feet even though her body was sliced up. The bottom box was closed and The Great Chance removed the two middle ones and swapped them. He then removed the saws and opened the whole cabinet for them to step out.

Jim found he still had his head and feet, but June’s breasts and vagina. June found her head resting on his body as well. "How do you feel now?"

"Let’s say, different." Jim said as he cupped his new breasts with her polished hands while she reached into her new flat chest and with his hands.

"Okay, now let’s get things back to normal." The Great Chance said. "If you’ll... You’ll."

"Is something wrong?" June asked with concern as The Great Chance collapsed to his knees and clutched his stomach. "Someone call a doctor!"

"I... I think it’s too late." Irene said as she walked over in her son’s body and felt for a pulse. "He’s dead."

"How... How are we going to change back?" Jim asked as he ran his wife’s hands over his new curves. "I love being close to my wife, but this."

"Can’t another magician help?" Irene asked.

"The Great Chance is one of a kind, mommy." Tommy reminded her. "Nobody does what he does."

"What do we do then?" Jim asked.

"Try to get on with our lives as best can." June replied.

"Great." Irene complains. "I get to go to school all over again."

Naturally the club closed down for the night while the four volunteers had to give their statements to both the doctors and police before they were release into their new lives. What Jim didn’t know was that while they waited for the police, June went a head and make a few phone calls.

As they got into the car, Jim felt his missing manhood as he climbed into the passenger seat. He didn’t know why June wanted to drive and felt even more nervous when they arrived in front of a hair salon. "June, what’s this all about?"

"You have my lovely body now, hon." June smiled back. "You can’t go back to your old male life and with the right hair due we can have you turning guys heads in no time."

Reluctantly he allowed himself to be shoved inside where he was taken right away into the back room. June then left with a weird smile. Jim soon had a goo mask on his face and his eyebrows plucked. A little experiments allowed the salon to figure the right combo of make-up for his face while the legs were waxed and nails were done.

The woman that was taking care of Jim, spun him around in the hair when the new hair due was done and he couldn’t believe how lady like he looked. "I can’t believe the difference."

"Your wife also set you up with an appointment at the electrolysis down the street. "You can then find her at St. Anne hospital with something special for you."

"Thanks." Jim said as he went to his next stop and then went to see his wife. The front desk directed him to the room she was in and saw June laying in bed with bandages on his chest. The one thing different is that it was no longer flat. "June, what did you?"

"I figured I could be stuck in your body the rest of my life." June spoke softly. "Really missing my breasts, I arrange for implants. If we ever change back, you can get them removed."

"It’s okay hon." Jim smiled and hugged her. "It is your body now. If being your lesbian life is how things going to be, then that’s how it’s going to be."

At the same time across town, Tommy turned off the running water in the tub and felt how warm it was with his mother’s foot. He removed her robe and climbed into the tub with her breasts floating above the water surface like twin islands. He had just finished changing his little brothers diaper as well as cleaning the breakfast dishes and the house.

"I never knew mom had it so hard." He said as the warm water sent relief through his mother’s body. He listened to the sound of the front door and sat up nervously.

"Tommy, you here?" He heard his own voice call out as his mother got home from school. He felt relieved that it was only his mother, and was about to get out of the tub when he looked between his mother’s legs. Blood was flowing out of him and mixing with the tub water.

"Mommy!" Tommy’s scream got her racing as fast as her little legs could get her upstairs to the bathroom.

"Honey, what’s..." She began when she saw what’s the matter. "Don’t worry honey, it’s natural for women. After I help clean you up, I think we’ll have to have a little talk about the facts of life. You’re not going to die and it is something you’ll get use to in time."

"I’ve talked to your father and explained what happened." She said after explaining how to use pads and tampons to her former son. "He agreed to move back home due to what happened and help take care of you while you get use to bra’s, pantyhose, heels and dresses."

Months passed. Every magician they contacted was only an illusionist and none could helped them changed back. While Tommy and Irene never truly learned to love their changed, Jim and June remained a loving married couple. June even got Jim pregnant, allowing Jim to feel the joys of a baby shower and having a life grow inside of him. Even though after giving birth to one kid made him not want to do it again anytime soon, he wouldn’t of traded their loving family for anything. With the idea of real magic being in the world, they all choose to live life for the moment and look for the magic in their own lives.

THE END
