New Girl On The Block

by Jennifer White

Terry Wilson had graduated from college two years ago, and had been saving money to buy a house. The didn't like living in an apartment, because you paid money every month, but you never built up any equity. So as soon as he could get the 20% down he needed, he went shopping, and found a nice three bedroom ranch in the suburbs.

He moved in excitedly. He set up his bedroom with the old furniture from his apartment. The second bedroom he made into more of a den, with his stereo, and the couch from his old place. He bought all new nice furniture for the living room. The third bedroom, which he dubbed 'the guest room', was mostly empty. He planned on buying a bed and a dresser as soon as he had some more money. But for now, he was pretty much broke! But in time, it started to feel like a home, rather than just a house.

* * *

Terry worked hard every day, came home, worked on the yard, the basement, or the kitchen. An older house always needed work. He also decided to paint 'the guest room' while it was so empty. It would be a lot harder when it was full of furniture. That, and the fact that it was a dark red color, which he intensely disliked. He went out and bought several gallons of white paint for it.

The only problem was that even after three coats, the red still came through a little bit, making the room more of a light pink than a white. But at least it wasn't that obnoxious red! He would buy some more paint, and give it some more coats soon. But he was tired of painting for now, so he let it go.

Terry had always received junk mail at the apartment, but he was not prepared for the onslaught that comes with owning a home. At first, there were some nice 'welcome to the neighborhood' type flyers, and coupons for new residents for the local hardware store and such. But soon, he was getting flooded with credit card applications, catalogs, and junk mail of every description. He found it funny that some of the junk mailers were so dumb that they addressed some of the mail to "Ms. Terri Wilson". Duh!

He threw it out, and always seemed to have a full trash can on Tuesday nights when he took the waste out to the curb. After washing his hands, he liked to take a nice long walk in the cool evening air. He said 'hi' and waved to the neighbors he met while out on his walk. While heading home, he met an older gentleman who lived a few doors down the street.

"Well hello there neighbor" said the old man, extending his hand. "I'm Ted. Glad to meet you."

"Hi, I'm Terry. Likewise."

They shook hands firmly.

"I understand you got quite a bargain on that house" said Ted.

"Yes, I did. The sellers said it was their daughter's house, but they seemed kind of reluctant to talk about it."

"Well, that's understandable. She was a very nice pretty young lady, but it was a tragedy. She was hit by a drunk driver, and well, she didn't make it. We were all sad to loose her."

"That's terrible! No wonder they wanted to just get rid of the place. I was afraid at first that there was something wrong with the house, since they took my first offer. I was just trying to give a low ball figure to start negotiating with."

"You're one lucky young man."

"Thanks!"

"I hear Mildred calling me. I've got to scoot. You keep in touch. Come by some time, and I'll cook up some hamburgs and brats for you on the grill."

"I'll bring the beer!" said Terry.

A typical male bonding ritual.

Over the next few weeks, Terry settled in to the new place. It was really shaping up now. The previous owner had done a wonderful job of planting the flower beds, and they were in the full bloom of spring. The daffodils were done, but the tulips were still in flower, the roses were coming in nicely, and the other flowers were all budding.

Terry came in from his hard toil in the back yard, washed his hands, and picked up the mail. There was a slot in the door, and the mail would fall to the floor in the foyer. He picked it up, and sorted through it while he walked into the kitchen.

There were the usual bills (gas, electricity, and phone), sale flyers for the local stores, and of course, all of the junk mail. Of late, there seemed to be more and more mail for "Ms. Terri". In this batch there was yet again another set of catalogues for clothes, shoes, and who knows what all. He opened the trash can to throw it out, but something caught his eye. He let it go, except for one catalog which he kept in his hands. He sat down on the couch, and started to browse through it.

Perhaps it was the sexy model on the front cover, showing here cleavage. Or something about her hair, or her long legs. But he just stared at her, as if transfixed, then decided to browse through the whole catalog.

The first section had summer clothes. Then there was a small section with shoes and sandals. Next came long formal dresses, then a section with intimate apparel. He stared long and hard at the beautiful models posing in just their bras and panties. How did they do that? The last section went back to casual clothes for summer, including one page of swim wear.

The back page had the 800 number to call in large bold black print. Terry picked up the phone and called it.

"Customer service, can I help you?"

"Yes, I'd like to place an order."

"How can I help you?"

"I would like item 24J235, color yellow, size medium."

"The sun dress? Those are pretty. And what else?"

"59K2364 in black, 36C, with the matching panty."

"Would you like the thong or the regular?"

"Thongs are way too uncomfortable! The regular of course."

"Oh, I agree, but you know how it is. We have to offer it."

"I understand. I think that's all for today...."

He opened an account, giving his name and address, along with credit information. He hung up the phone, turned on the TV to The History Channel, and sat back to watch a show on World War II.

Three days later, Terry received a box in the mail. He looked at the label, and realized that it was from that clothing catalog. Why had he even ordered that stuff? He shook his head. It must have been those sexy models. He unpacked it, took it to 'the guest room', and put it into the closet.

There was also yet another credit card in the junk mail. He always tore up the applications, so that nobody could fill one out with his name. But this one had a card inside, all pre approved. All that he had to do was to call the 800 number to activate it. It had 0% financing on all purchases for 12 months, then a low APR after that. It was a large company that he heard of before, so he decided what the heck. He called the 800 number, and had the card activated.

It was only while he was putting the card in his wallet that he noticed the mistake. The card had his name as "Terri", not "Terry". Oh well, if he didn't notice, nobody else would either.

As summer started to unfold, with the days becoming hotter and hotter, the lawn needed more and more work. Terry was always edging, cutting, fertilizing, weeding, or doing something to keep it in shape. Owning a house was a lot of work!

After dinner, he would go through the mail. Today, among the junk mail was a catalog that caught his eye. Again, there was a stunning model on the front cover, and before he knew it, he was on the line with customer service, ordering a cute pair of shoes, an evening ensemble, and control top pantyhose. He put it all on his new credit card.

The next night, he was again on the phone, but this time with Sears. He had spotted a really wonderful bedroom set, that he decided was perfect for the guest room. It featured a canopy bed, matching dresser, vanity, and night stand. It would make that room look so much nicer, to have good furniture like that in place. He also ordered a closet organizer, since it was an old closet and only had a shelf and a bar to hang clothes from.

He was excited a week later when they delivered and set up the new furniture. Now the guest room really started to look good. He took all of his new clothes he had ordered from the catalogs, and put it into the proper place. Panties and bras went into the dresser, along with the pantyhose. Dresses were hung on the bar with nice new plastic hangers he bought at Bed Bath and Beyond. Shoes went into the hanging shoe organizer. Blouses and tops were carefully hung, kept over to one side, while skirts and pants went to the other side.

He eyed his work, satisfied. The vanity looked empty though. So he went to his computer, went online, and purchased some supplies.

It took five days for the new supplies to arrive. He was disappointed, hoping they would have shown up faster. He would have to pick another company to order from next time, or go out and shop himself. He shook his head, while organizing the makeup and the perfumes just so. He stood back to admire his work, then came up to adjust where he had the antique hand mirror and comb set up. He had found those at a garage sale. They looked so good with his new bedroom.

There were also two new boxes from clothing companies. He unpacked everything, and put it away in the proper place. Yes, the guest room was really looking good now.

One night while paying the bills, Terry wondered why he had never received a bill for his 0% interest credit card? He had bought an awful lot of stuff with it, but no bill had arrived. Oh well, it must be because purchases were 0% for a year. He never had a card like that before, so maybe that's how it worked.

He put the check into the envelope with the stub, and sealed it. His hands were tired from writing the 20 digit customer number. Why did they have to make them so long? His hands seemed awful dry too, from all the yard work.

He went into the guest room, and pulled a tube of hand cream out from the vanity drawer. He rubbed in into his hands, and breathed deep, enjoying the lavender scent. It reminded him of all the fresh flowers in the back yard. He loved how it smelled back there, with the must earth scents from the fertile soil, mixed with the sweet scent of fresh clipped grass, and the floral essences in the air.

He suddenly wondered if he had the closet organized well enough, and opened it to check. Everything was neatly and properly stored. The dresses weren't going to get wrinkled, the sweaters were neatly folded on the shelf, and the skirts were all hanging invitingly. He wanted to sort them better by length, so he started to move them around.

Then he worked on the dresses a bit, putting them into a better order too. He would do this from time to time, touching all of his clothes as he moved them to a better and better system of organization. Finally satisfied, he took a step back to admire his work.

It was Friday night, and his plans for the evening had fallen through. So he was going to work around the house some more. But he needed a break. So he went into the kitchen, and poured himself a large glass of chardonay. He had never liked wine before, preferring beer. But this bottle had been on special at the grocery store, so he put it into his cart, in case he entertained guests who liked wine. But the night before, he was out of beer, so he tried it. And he found that he really liked it!

So with glass in hand, he returned to the guest room to get back to work.

* * *

When Terry entered the guest room, he absentmindedly closed the door behind him. He took a deep sip of the fruity wine, and put the glass down on the vanity (on a doily of course, so as not to leave a water mark on the beautiful new white furniture).

He turned to the closet, and started to look at all of the clothes. He didn't know why he had bought them in the first place, and wondered why there were so many. They just kind of accumulated over time, and he really hadn't thought about it.

He browsed through the closet, until he came to a yellow and white sun dress that really caught his eye. It was the perfect clothes for summer. He pulled it out, and hung it on the hook at the back of the closet drawer. He wondered how it would fit on him, and if it would make his thighs look too fat. He would have to try it on to find out.

He started to undress, putting his dirty clothes into the hamper. He was wearing black boxers, and he didn't want the dark color to show through the light material, so he went into the dresser drawer to get some white cotton panties. After he put them on, he also wondered if the way neckline of the sun dress was cut was going to cover his bra straps or not. He didn't like the look of bra straps showing, so he'd have to wear a strapless bra if they did show through.

So he put on a bra as well, then the sun dress. He was relieved to find that it did indeed cover the straps, so he could wear whatever bra he wanted with it. He twirled around, feeling the skirt fly as he did. He giggled, feeling so free, so young, like a little girl.

He decided that he was going to let his hair grow out. It was too short the way he had it now. He looked in the mirror, and decided to experiment. He teased it, used hairspray, and was able to get something that looked a little cuter. But he needed long hair for the look he really desired. Oh why did it take so long to grow hair? He'd have to be patient though.

Next, he decided that the tan in his face from being outside made his lips look too thin. He poured over his lipsticks, until he found one that might be the right color. He put on a little, but wasn't happy with the results. He cleaned that off, then tried another. This one did it. His lips looked fuller, but not with too much contrast like the first one.

After he did his eyes, he tried just a little of the new glitter makeup on his face. He liked how it sparkled and caught the light as he turned to different angles. It made him feel so pretty and special, like a princess. He tingled all over with excitement.

Terry was all dressed up with no place to go. He took his now empty wine glass, refilled it, and sat down on the couch. He read Cosmo for half an hour, then decided to turn on the TV. He watched a romantic comedy on HBO, while painting his toenails. His legs were a mess. They really needed to be shaved. He shook his head. He'd have to do that when he showered in the morning. He was too tired for that now.

Terri took off his makeup, then the sun dress. He carefully hung it back up, and took off the bra. He kept the panties on, and pulled a pink nightie over his head. It was almost the same color as the walls, which made him smile. And to think he had thought of making the room a dull boring white!

He went back to the living room to make sure the door was double locked, and the chain pulled. Then he climbed into the canopy bed, and sighed as he sunk down into the soft pillows, the luxurious sheets, and the scent of popery. He smiled as he drifted off to sleep.

Terry woke up in the morning feeling refreshed. He had wonderful dreams all night. He put the coffee on, then took a nice long hot shower. He shaved his legs and armpits, along with all his other body hair. There was quite a clog to clear from the drain when he was done!

He used his nice new coral colored towels he had just bought to dry off. He wrapped the towel around his head and put on his bathrobe, and walked into the bedroom. With his smooth legs, he felt excited to slip into a pair of pantyhose. After donning his white bra, he picked out a nice white blouse with frilly lacy edges, and a knee length black skirt. He examined himself in the mirror, straightening out the skirt until he was satisfied. He shook his head though at his figure. He needed to lose some weight in his tummy.

After putting on his makeup, with heavier eye liner this time, he went into the kitchen to get breakfast started. He blow-dried his hair, and teased it to get it in place just right. Then he picked out the right pair of shoes, and put them on. The heels made him feel taller, which he liked.

He ate his breakfast, then cleaned up in the kitchen a little.

While reading the horoscopes in Cosmo, Terry was surprised to see that the mail had come. This was very early for it, but then again it was Saturday. Perhaps they just delivered earlier on the weekend.

Among the usual mail, there was a package with some free product samples. Among them were a couple of tampons, which made him smile, since there weren't any in his purse, and he was going to get some today at the drugstore. This would save him a trip. What wonderful timing! He tucked them away in the back of his purse, and was deciding how to organize it when there was a knock at the door.

"Hello?" said Terry, opening the door. The old man named Ted was there.

"Hello ma'am. I was looking for Terry"

"That's me!"

"No, I mean the young man who lives here."

Terry just looked confused.

"I'm sorry miss, I must have the wrong house" said Ted, walking away shaking his head. He was sure that this was Terry's house. He had been confused about a few things lately, and was certain that something was wrong with his mind. He would go talk to Mildred.

Terry did some more work around the house, arranging some flowers which he had purchased at the grocery store. He was going to cook a nice meal that night. But there was a nagging feeling he had. As he put away the food into the refrigerator, it hit him. Cramps. Oh how he hated this time of the month!

Terri pulled out a tampon, went into the bathroom, and undressed to put it in. Fortunately, Midol had been on sale at the grocery store, so she took a dose to avoid getting the splitting headache that sometimes accompanies the cramps.

After a few minutes, Terri was back to work, and hummed while starting to chop the veggies...

* * *

Just when supper was almost ready, there was another knock on the door. Terri went over, and opened it up. There was a pretty young lady there, in a red dress. She smiled and let her in.

"Hello. I love your shoes! Where did you get them?" asked Terri.

"The same place you got yours" she said, "from our favorite catalog."

"How did you know that? Who are you?" asked Terri.

"I am you" she said.

"What? I didn't hear you correctly."

"I am you" she stated again.

"How can you be me?" asked Terri.

"You see, this was my house, before I died. But I am back now, and ready to live my life again. All I needed was a female body to move into. You were a man, so I had to work to make a few changes. But now you're ready, so I have come to reclaim my house and my life".

Terri went to touch her, but her hand passed right through the woman. She was there before Terri's eyes, but she had no substance to her.

She smiled and touched Terri on the forehead. Terri froze. She could not move.

The young lady in front of Terri's eyes waved her hands, and her clothes disappeared. Her nubile naked body looked familiar to Terri. It was like seeing her own body in the mirror. This woman had the exact same breast size, the same waist, the same legs. She even had the same tattoo on her ankle. Terri was fascinated, yet terrified.

She began to walk towards Terri, then went behind her. She could not see the girl, but could feel her presence. Her eyes were burning a hole in the back of Terri's neck, making the hairs stand up on end.

Then Terri felt it: a slight tingle. The young lady was starting to move forward, into Terri. First there were two small spots as the tips of the young woman's nipples touched Terri's back. These spots grew into larger circles as the breasts moved into Terri.

Then Terri felt her butt tingle from the girl pressing her body against it. Then her whole back tingled. The young woman started to move bit by bit into Terri's space. Terri felt a floating feeling come over her along with the strange tingle. Soon she would be completely filled with the woman's presence.

After a few minutes, Terri could move again. There was no sign of the woman any where. Had she just imagined it all? No, because that's when it started. In her mind. She could feel her presence. The battle had begun.

At first, all Terri could feel was the *presence* of this other woman. But soon, she was hearing her thoughts as clear as if she had thought them herself.

"Give up" said the woman. "I am the rightful owner of this body. I am taking over. You have no hope. Accept your new fate."

"No! You can't do this!"

"Why not? I already turned you into a woman. What makes you think I can't take over your mind too?"

Turned into a woman? Suddenly Terry realized what had been happening for the past day. It had started with wearing the pretty clothes. Terry had somehow gone into a type of trance, and had been acting like Terri. He hadn't even noticed! But now it all came back to him, as clear as day.

He recoiled as he realized that he *was* a woman. In every way. He tried to turn, as if to jump out of his body, but to no avail. He had breasts! He had a vagina! He was having a period! No! He couldn't be a woman. Impossible!

"Ah, so you want to leave *my* body" said the woman. "I will help you."

Terry felt a strange sensation, as if he was being crushed. He gasped for breath. He tried to hang on, but she was much stronger than him.

"You are weak. You cannot overcome me" said the woman.

"I'm not giving up!" he said, but feminine force was much greater than he. As much as he was shocked and dismayed that he was now a woman, he still struggled. He fought it. He wasn't going to just let someone take over his body, even if it was female now.

"Accept your fate, *girl*. You have no choice. You will do as I say."

"No!" said Terry, but he was losing the battle. He was being overwhelmed by her femininity. He was growing tired and weak. As a man, he would have been physically stronger than her. But her spirit was too much for him. She lived a different life in the world of emotions and feelings, which was still alien to him. He had not been a woman long enough to understand it yet. So he had no way to fight back.

"Yes, you feel it. You feel that I am in control of you. That you are losing to a *woman*. You are not worthy to live in a female body. Get out!"

That was a mistake on her part, saying he wasn't worthy. He would make a wonderful woman! Look at what he had done with his clothing collection. But he wondered how much her influence over him had to do with everything. Yet he struggled to stay in place.

But bit by bit, he was torn away from his body. Bit by bit, she forced him out. Like a tree in a hurricane, starting to be pulled out by the roots, his spirit was going from his body. He clung to it, even accepting that he'd be woman if he stayed. But no amount of resistance was enough. She was about to seal his fate.

She was now in such control, that she could *force* him to think what *she* wanted him to think.

"I am a girl" he thought. "Now and forever."

Her thoughts and emotions overwhelmed him. She smiled, now fully in charge of the body. Her femininity flowed over him and through him. He briefly experienced her full being, as he was cast outside, his spirit now free of the body it had inhabited since birth. But he was changed; even his short moment of true femininity had a great impact on his soul. One which he would not fully understand for some time.

* * *

Terry's spirit rose up, higher and higher. At first, he could see his house, but as he pulled up from a greater and greater height, soon everything became too small to see. All he could notice was the vast space he was floating in. It felt like he could reach out and touch the stars.

Terry then started to sense it. His past lives. He had lived thousands of times, each time trying to rise just a bit higher than the time before. All of his knowledge from all his past lives filled him, with his latest memories joining the pool of his conscious.

At first, he felt a pang of disappointment as he started to move back down into the world. He had failed, he was going back again to live. But his disappointment soon turned to elation when he found where his new destiny laid.

When he was close enough to the earth, he could see a hospital. He moved in closer, guided by an unseen hand. Soon he was in the delivery room, where a young mother cried in pain from the contractions. Inside her was a baby. The baby he was about to become.

The mother was beautiful, although wearing a cap to keep her hair covered, and drenched in sweat from her long struggle. The father dutifully held her hand by her side. The next contraction came, and she pushed with all her might.

Terry was now inside her, moving towards the unborn infant he was to become. His pang of doubt vanished, and elation poured over him, as he realized something. This was a baby *girl*. He was about to be reborn into the world, but this time as a female.

He would be able grow up as a little girl, who would in turn grow up some day to be a mommy herself, to give birth and renew the cycle of life. He *had* risen higher, to the next plane of existence. His warm glow filled the body of the baby, as she started to emerge from the mother.

"Congratulations!" said the doctor, holding the baby out to the proud mother and father. "You have healthy baby girl!"

Tears of joy flowed from the mother as she held the baby close to her breast. The father smiled proudly. Terry cried in pain from the harsh entry into the world, and receded into the soul of the baby, upon who's blank mind she would write her next life's story.

"We will name her Terri" said the mother, wiping her tears.

The doctor filled in the birth certificate, putting Terri in as the name, and checking off the box for "female". Terri's new life had begun...
