New Holly Potter

by

Paul Jutras

If Ron had known what was waiting for him at Honey dukes other than butter beer, he would have known that he had got the best of the deal from his duel with Malfoy. For while the new Rhonda moved her things into the same room as Hermione, Ginny, Angelina and Holly, the figure of Lord Voldemort stood in the shadows across from Honey dukes. In his hand he griped the copy of the Quibbler that Luna was reading on the train to school.

"Can you leave it," a student in Slytherin robes said. "Weasley was actually dumb enough to challenge Malfoy to a duel and got changed into a girl."

"Yeah," The other second student said as the shadowy Voltermort gripped tighter on the paper. "What's even better is that Looney Luna of Ravenclaw and those goodie good Gryffindors all got grounded for the act. I even heard that new girl, Holly Prewett was among them. They won't be seen at Hogsmeade this weekend."

"There you go Rhonda." Professor McGonagall said as she finished transfiguring all of Ron's old male clothes into Rhonda's female counter parts. "I want you to all stay here the rest of the day; do your home work and think about the results of your reckless actions."

"Yes, Ma'am," said Rhonda.

"This isn't so bad." Hermoine said as she got out her books while Rhonda put her stuff away in the trunk at the foot of her bed. "I feel like I finally get a sleep over party with all my best friends. I've had slumber parties before, but of course Ron couldn't make it. Neither could…"

"Neither could who?" Angelina asked.

"Sorry," Hermoine said softly as she put on a pink night shirt. "I sometimes forget that Harry isn't with us anymore. Though Holly reminds me of him a little."

"Harry was a good seeker." Angelina said with a pleasant smile as she got into a white with lace trim night gown. She turned to Holly, who was in a blue night shirt. "With no offense to your lost friend, I think Holly is a little better. Something wrong, Rhonda?"

"I just feel silly dress like this." Rhonda said in a night shirt, trying to yank it down below her hips with no results. "It's embarrassing changing in front of a bunch of girls, including my sister."

"That's silly." Hermoine reminded Rhonda. "We're all girls here. There is no reason to be embarrassed about changing in front of us."

"I bet Neville Long bottom is glad he only got frozen for a short time." Rhonda said as she noticed Holly giggling. Since Holly was in the same boat of being trapped as a girl, she couldn't believe Holly thought it was funny.

It was nearly closing in Fred and George's Diagon Alley joke shop. They were about to close up shop when a final shopper appeared through the door. Fred was just approaching to greet him, when he pulled his hood back. "Vordemort!"

"I got a message for your newest sister." The dark lord said as he pulled out his wand and aimed it the twins before they could teleport away.

The next day in potions class, Professor Snape was even more ill tempered than normal. He had spent half the night trying to look up a way to change Rhonda back to Ron. He could find no reversal spell whatever for this particular curse.

"Professor Snape, Rhonda began, but shut his mouth as she saw his stare back.

"I may not be a mind reader, but let me guess what going through you're head, Weasley." Professor Snape snapped. "As far as the books I've gone through said, there has not been a counter curse made for the spell you're under."

As sadden look fell upon Rhonda face as Professor Snape walked up to him. "I have also been told by Professor Dumbledore that since the male dorm no longer has a prefect that you're appointment as prefect will be passed along to Neville Long Bottom."

Malfroy, Crabb and Goil just grained at one another upon this announcement. They quickly shut up when Professor Snape turned toward their giggles. "If you want to giggle like little school girls, I'm sure they're room in the Slytherin girl's dorm for three more."

"I thought that would shut you up." Professor Snape said. "Now get your cauldrons out and let's get this class started. "This potion is to make one invisible. I've known some students in the past that had no need of this for invisibility."

Holly remembers his cloak still packed in the trunk of the girls' dorm as her body became invisible and left her school uniform appear floating about on its own. While the others were all in on the cloak's secret, she wondered if Angelina could be trusted.

"You can still see my clothes," Malfoy complained.

"That's because the school isn't dumb enough to teach possible pranksters how to become fully invisible right off." Professor Snape answered. "Even when it came time to teach Miss Weasley's older brothers the full potion, I was hesitant to do so. I'm just glad they seem fit to make a living in their joke shop."

Before I forget I would like to see Miss Granger, Miss Prewett and Miss Weasley." Professor Snape said at the end of class. "I need to make a report about how you're all getting along in the same dorm room."

"I think I'm adjusting as well as can be expected," Rhonda began while the rest of the class finished piling out of the room.

"Hush, girl." Professor Snape said once the last were gone and the door was shut tight so nobody could hear. "That was just a cover story for the class benefit. The real reason I asked you to stay behind is because Weasley's Fred and George are here in the hospital wing being visited by Professor Sprout."

"They've been Petrified much like Mrs. Norris and the others during your second year," said Snape as he saw Miss Granger's hand go up. "No Miss Granger, the note attached read that this was a warning for Holly Prewett. It would seem that he who must not be named is not totally convinced that Potter is dead. I trust you're time as young ladies have given you the common sense Miss Granger has and that they'll be no foolish heroic acts this year."

"Oh, Miss Prewett," Professor Snape said as the young witches began to leave. "Just incase you're wondering about the dance coming up, you're currently Witch Weekly's most desirable witch here at Hogswart."

"Great," thought Holly. The one thing she had hoped to avoid in her transformation from Harry Potter was a fan club."

"Holly, you're not going to do anything foolish are you?" Rhonda asked with concern in her voice. "The whole point of what you've gone through has been to keep you safe from harm."

"Hi there, Holly," said Malfoy as he waited in the hallway with a smile on his face and flowers in his hand. "These are for you."

"I…I don't know what to say." Holly said as she saw a side of her one time foe she never seen before.

"Say you'll go to the school dance with me tonight." Malfoy said as he flashed a grin toward Rhonda who just growled with jealousy under her breath. "You're friend Rhonda is cute, but I don't date girls who use to be guys."

"Wouldn't he be in for a shock," Hermoine thought to herself as they all waited for Holly's answer.

"I suppose if I decide to go to the dance," Holly said as her friend's jaws dropped wide open in shock. "I haven't given it much thought."

"See you then," Malfoy smiled as he walked off in triumph.

"How could you say yes to that snake?" Rhonda said as she sounded jealous. "When did you start getting interesting in guys?"

"You know that he only asked you out because of that bet Slytheran House has going." Hermoine said as they walked together.

"I know, but I figured it was the best way to get rid of him." Holly said. "I never said I was going to the dance. Right now the important thing is to tell Ginny about her brothers."

They found Ginny on their way to the common room. The moment she heard the news, she broke out into tears and started to cry with her face buried in her sister's robes. "I want to go stay in your room until you hear from us or one of the school staff." Rhonda said as she wiped the tears.

"You're not going after V…V..Voldermort are you?" She sniffed.

"We had hoped that our friends would be safe if I was transformed." Holly said as with a determine tone. "We now know that it will never be over until Voldermort is dealt with once and for all."

Using the map that Fred and George had given her when she was Harry. They made sure body was around as they moved a statue aside and headed down the passage to the basement of Honey dukes.

"What do you think our chances are?" Rhonda asked as they moved their way through the crowd and outside. The headed off toward the legendary most haunted house known.

"You don't want to know the odds of three students taking on a master wizard." Hermoine said as Rhonda gulped as they stood outside. "If we're going to do this, let's do it."

"I see you decided to accept my invite," Lord Voldermort said in the upstairs room as the three girls walked in. Holly noticed it was the same room she had a fight with her god father Black and Professor Lupin during her third year at school. "Come and meet your master, weak witch!"

"Watch yourself, Holly." Hermoine said as the three drew their wands at the same time.

"Only the pesky Potter would dare come, knowing it has to be a trap!" Voltermort said as he too drew his wand ready for battle. "This time the out come will be very different indeed."

"You couldn't leave well enough alone." Holly said with a glare in her eyes. "I just wanted to start over and leave all this dark arts business to my classes."

"Once again the question comes up," Voldermort said as he approached Holly. The dark lord's eyes glowed red. "Time for us to find out which of us is the student and which is the master of the dark arts."

He began to pace back and fourth before Holly, Rhonda and Hermoine. His face twisted into a cruel smile. "You were a fool to answer my note and even more of a fool to allow your friends join you in death."

"You're the fool, Riddle." Holly said as she called the lord by his birth name. "Encase you haven't noticed, we've got you outnumbered."

The three girls had a plan and were ready when the dark lord raised his wand to attack. Before he could cast a spell; however, the three hit him with a Cruciatus Curse. Voldermort felt like white hot knives were slicing up his body. They choose not to wait for him to recover. As Volderort staged, they shouted the words, Expelliarmus! and caused the dark wizard's Imperio spell to miss them.

That was when Hogsmade was hit with the most horrified yelled like it hadn't heard since Professor Lupin attended school. The three students had screamed the attack word at the same time. "Crucio!"

As Voldermort squirmed on the floor in pain, the three girls stared down at him. They knew they had gone to the point of no return and there was no going back now. The three of them pointed their wands and said the words. "Avada Kedavra!"

"Only fitting that you suffer the same way that Cedric did," Holly said with a tear in her eye at the lost of any life. Even one as evil as Lord Voldermort. A green light died down and the dark lord was dead.

No longer scared of being attack through the passageway connecting the school to the house, they brought the dead body of the dark wizard to Professor Dumbledore. It was soon in both the Quibbler and the Daily Profet that he who must not be name was dead and the wizard world no longer had anything to fear from him. Peace was finally restored to Hogswarts.

"Does this mean you'll be going back to be Harry Potter?" Hermoine asked as she gave her champion and partner a kiss.

"I've been thinking about that." Holly said softly. "I do care for you Hermoine but I've come to realize that you're more like a sister than a girlfriend. While I also care for Luna, I've had a better and much more happy time as Holly than I ever did in my life as Harry."

"So my room mate is here to stay?" Hermoine asked.

"Yes," Holly said as she gave her friend a loving hug. "Besides, I couldn't leave Rhonda alone as a guy trying to learn to live as a girl."

The sound of a thud behind them caused their heads to turn. Malfoy had dropped a box of candy to the floor. "Potter!"

"Not anymore," Holly said with a smile. "It's Prewett now. I'm afraid you really aren't my type, Malfoy."

"Alright." Rhonda said as the three gave themselves a high five and went to join their room mates upstairs for a slumber party celebration.

THE END
