A New Life                   by Sara

Part 2

Back at home, Cathy had just got back from looking for Jenny. Cathy was getting very worried.

Her dad said, "Well Cathy, I'm holding you responsible if anything happens to your brother."

"Don't you mean my sister? And it was YOU that hit her, and told her to get out!"

"Don't you ever raise your voice to me! I'll give you a good slap!" With that he raised his hand to hit her, but before he could do it, mum stopped him.

She said, "Don't you think you have done enough damage for one night?"

She turned to Cathy and said, "You drove him away Cathy, so if anything happens to him you will be the one to blame."

Cathy Just stood there not knowing what to say. She looked up in her mother's eyes and said, "Mum I was trying to help."

"Cathy, please just go back to where you usually spend your time. You're not wanted here any more."

With that Cathy grabbed the rest of her things, and as she was about to leave she asked her mum to let her know as soon as they knew anything. Cathy's mum just turned her head away, and said nothing. Cathy left with tears in her eyes, thinking to herself, "I've lost my sister and my parents in one night." Cathy looked at the clock and decided she had plenty of time to look for Jenny, so she got in her car and started driving around.

Back at the roadside, Jenny was just coming around. Still in a lot of pain she tried to stand up, but with a broken leg and the damage to her groin, it was no good. The blood loss was making it hard to stay awake as well. Jenny just lay there, barely awake. When she saw a car coming down the road, she knew this was the only chance she had to get help so she forced her self up on her one good leg and stood in the road. The next thing Jenny heard was the screeching of brakes and something hitting her. As she hit the ground she was knocked out cold.

Jenny started to come around and felt really strange. There was no pain and she couldn't move. She tried to open her eyes but the light was too bright, and her mouth was really dry and there was a tube running into it. Jenny tried to speak but all that came out was a whiney sound. Then she heard a voice say, "Don't move honey, you are in a safe place, and you have had a very bad accident and need to rest, okay?" With that Jenny started to feel really sleepy again, and then she was fast asleep once more.

When Jenny woke up next the room was dark so she could look around. The tube that had been in her mouth was gone, but she was feeling really sore. She looked at the room and it looked more like a large bedroom than a hospital room. Jenny tried to speak and this time she got out some words. She sounded rough but they could be made out.

"Miss, please don't move."

"Where am I?"

"Please miss! You will be fine. I will get the doctor and she will answer all your questions, okay?"

With that the woman left the room. Jenny was feeling much better; witch made her wonder how long she had been in this hospital. As she was about to try and move, the door opened and two women walked in. Both women were dressed really smart. The first woman was carrying some sort of instrument, so Jenny knew she was the doctor.

"How is Jane today?"

Jenny just looked at the woman and said, "My name is Jenny, not Jane."

"Well I'm pleased to meat you, Jenny. My name is Connie."

"Where am I and how long have I been here?"

At this point the second woman spoke up, saying, "I'm Sandra and you're at my house in the country. You have been here for the last six weeks."

Jenny was shocked to hear this! Connie started to tell Jenny about her injuries. She was talking about broken legs and a damaged spine; which would have been worse if she hadn't been wearing the corset. Jenny was getting worried that she would be in a wheel chair for the rest of her life!

"Will I be able to walk again?"

"Yes you could walk now, if it wasn't for your broken legs. But Jenny, the bad news is the injury to your groin! Both of your testicles were severed! There was no way to save them. I'm so sorry to have to tell you this."

Jenny was stunned to hear that they knew she was not a real girl. When she thought about it, she realized that they would know.

"If you knew I was not a real girl, why did you go along with what I was saying?"

Sandra came forward and said, "You needed help and it was my car that hit you so I brought you to my house. My friend Connie is a doctor and she helped to get you well again."

"I have no money, and I don't know how to repay you for your help."

"I don't want paying. You needed help and still do. Now do you want to tell me what happened to you?"

Jenny looked at Sandra and asked, "Can I tell you alone, please?"

Sandra looked at Connie and the nurse and asked, "Can you leave us for a bit, please?"

So Connie and the nurse left and Jenny started to tell her story from the Saturday morning. Sandra sat there for the whole story and at the end Jenny was crying so Sandra got up, came to the bed and just said, "You're safe now."

Jenny was thinking about Cathy and how worried she must be.

Sandra asked, "Why don't you tell me your birth name and I will see what I can find out, okay?"

So Jenny told Sandra her name and then Sandra had a funny look on her face.

Jenny asked, "What is wrong."

"I know that name from somewhere." and with that Sandra left the room.

Jenny just lay there waiting for Sandra to come back. When Sandra did come back she had been crying, so Jenny asked, "What is wrong?"

"Jenny. I don't know how to tell you this. Your parents and your sister think you're dead! They think you died in a car crash. The van you were in hit a tanker truck and exploded and they thought you were in it!"

Jenny just started to cry and said, "What about Cathy? She must blame herself for what happened. Can you please find out for me?"

Sandra said, "I will do that for you. Do you want me to tell your parents?"

"No! They said they didn't have a son so they won't want a daughter."

"What about Cathy?"

"I don't want her to see me like this. Can you just make sure she's alright, please?"

Sandra just smiled and said, "You really love her, don't you?"

"Yes I do. She's the only family I have in the world."

Sandra said, "Okay. I'll get some friends of mine to find out what they can." and with that she left the room.

Jenny just lay there looking around the room she was in. It was a big room. She started looking at her self. There was a brace on her back, so sitting up was impossible. Jenny could use her arms though, so she started feeling what she was wearing. She had on a silk night-gown that felt so very soft and nice. Jenny was brought back to reality when the door opened. It was Sandra and Connie coming back in.

"Jenny. Connie has something she needs to tell you. It will change the way you live your life so please listen and think it through, okay?"

Jenny was laying there waiting for Connie to start telling her the bad news.

"Jenny, Sandra has told me some of your story and how you feel about wanting to be a girl. Well, with the loss of your testicles your body will not start producing testosterone."

Jenny just had a blank look on her face as Connie went through all the talk of what this meant. But she got the gist of what she was saying.

She asked, "You mean I'm going to be a freak for the rest of my life?"

At this point Sandra sat on the bed next to Jenny and said; "Jenny, we can make you into a girl, if that is it what you want."

Jenny was about to answer when Sandra said, "Please think about it for a day or two, okay?"

Jenny just nodded her head but knew what the answer will going to be.

Connie said, "Jenny. I'm going to give you a pain killer so you can sleep, okay?"

Jenny said, "Okay, but will it make me sleep for long?"

"No it will just give you two or three hours peace." and with that Connie put a needle in Jenny's arm.

Jenny felt it working straight away. The last thing Jenny remembered seeing was Sandra and Connie leaving the room. When Jenny woke up again, Sandra was asleep in the chair at the side of the bed. Jenny reached out with her hand and touched Sandra on the knee. This woke Sandra with a start.

"Good you're awake. You had us worried."

"How long was I asleep for?"

"Just over two days, but you are awake now. So how do you feel? Any pain?"

"No, not really. I just feel really stiff."

"You are well on the way to being well again. Have you thought about what we said the other day?"

To Jenny it seamed like just five minutes, but she already knew the answer. Before she said yes, though, she needed to know some things and so she asked, "Sandra, what will I do for ID? And where will I live?"

Sandra put her hand on Jenny's and started to tell Jenny about her life and how she had no one to share her love with and how lonely it was. Jenny had no idea what Sandra was going to say next.

"Jenny I want you to live with me as my daughter!"

Jenny was welling up inside, she was that happy that some one loved her and wanted to except her for who she was!

"Sandra, I would love to be your daughter, but what about Cathy? Have you found out how she is?"

Sandra got a worried look on her face, like she knew something she didn't want to tell her.

"What is it? Is she all right? She's dead isn't she?"

Jenny started to try and get up but Sandra stopped her, saying, "Jenny! Your sister is alive. She did try to kill her self though. When you were reported dead she went to her room and took an overdose of sleeping pills. Luckily, her room mate found her and got her to a hospital."

"Is she all right now?"

"Yes, her room mate is taking good care of her. But your parents have blamed her for your death and have stopped paying her college money. She is going to fail out if we don't do some thing to help."

"You would do that for me?"

"Yes and I have already started to do something about it. So don't worry about your sister, she'll get all the help that she needs."

Jenny started to cry. She was so happy that her sister was not dead. Jenny said, "Sandra, I will pay you back for all that you do for me and my sister, I promise."

"Jenny you are my daughter now, so that makes Cathy my daughter as well, and no daughter of mine will ever pay for anything."

Sandra pressed a button on the wall. The door opened and Connie came in. Sandra said, "Connie, you can start the process. Jenny will be my daughter from now on."

At that point Sandra turned to look at Jenny, and Jenny could tell that Sandra was so happy. Connie came over to the bed and put three needles down on the table.

"Jenny, these will kick start your change."

"What are they?"

"They're female hormones. You would start to get breasts anyway, without male hormones. This will give your body a good start on the way to being a girl. The effects will start very quickly at first, but later we will slow the changes, okay?"

"What about my . you know what? Will I have that between my legs for the rest of my life?"

"No you will go into surgery and we will make it into a vagina. But that is all in the future. I don't think you need to know all the facts, other than you will look like a real girl in every way. You won't be able to have children, though."

Jenny was in shock about it all and she thought she was dreaming and was going to wake up any minute at the roadside. But the jab in the arm with the first needle told her she was not dreaming.

Sandra said, "Jenny I'm going to make sure that Cathy is being taken care of, okay?" and left the room.

Connie gave Jenny the other two needles and told Jenny to get some rest. Jenny just lay there thinking what it was going to be like to be really a girl as she started to feel tired again, and drifted off to sleep once again. Cathy was just finishing her job at the coffee shop and still had to do here home work from college. It was getting harder each day trying to make ends meet. She and her roommate were trying to pay rent on the room they had and they were well behind. Cathy got to the room and opened the door. Prue, her roommate, was still at work so Cathy started to do some dinner. They had to be careful how they ate. What food they did have had to last the whole week. Cathy was just finishing the dinner when Prue walked in.

"Hi Prue, how was the job?"

"The same old thing, burgers and fries. What's for dinner anyway?"

Cathy looked at Prue and said, "Burgers and fries, is that all right?"

Prue just gave Cathy an evil look, at which point Cathy started to laugh which set Prue off as well. Then Cathy said, "No I'm doing some pasta and chicken, is that okay?"

"That sounds good to me. It smells good too. I'll just go and have a quick wash, okay?"

"Okay. I'll call you when I'm ready to dish up."

As they sat doing their homework there was a knock at the door. Cathy looked at Prue, with a strange look on her face. As if to say who could that be? So Cathy got up and went to the door, put the chain on and then opened it to see who it was. It was the landlord.

"Hi Mr. Jones. I know you're here for your rent, but we don't have it. Can we give it to you at the end of the week?"

"No, you are paid up till the end of the month."

"What do you mean we are paid up till the end of the month? We owe you three months rent!"

"Your rent has been paid in full and one month in front and this is for you."

Mr. Jones was holding a big box with Cathy's name on it. Cathy shut the door and took the chain off and opened the door again. By this time Prue was standing with Cathy.

"What is it, Cathy?"

"I don't know. It has my name on it and some one has paid the rent up to date and one month in front!"

Prue was shocked to hear this and thought someone had made a mistake.

"Well, are you going to open the box and see what's inside?"

Cathy opened the box and looked inside. There were some envelopes and three sets of keys. Cathy picked up the keys and looked at them. Two sets looked the same.

"They look like house keys and this set looks like a set for a car?"

Prue said, "Open the envelopes. That may tell you who sent the box."

Cathy opened the first envelope and pulled out the letter. When she opened it, two credit cards fell out. One with her name and one with Prue's name on it.

Cathy turned to Prue and said, "Well, there is no mistake on the box being for some one else."

"Read the letter, Cathy. Who would do this for us? Do you think your mum and dad have done this for you?"

Cathy just started to laugh and said, "My mum and dad won't give me the time of day. They wouldn't do this."

Cathy started to read the letter and then she said, "The letter just said that there is a car parked out side the building for us to use and there is a map telling us how to find the house that the keys belong to. The credit cards are for food and clothes and day to day living. We are not to go mad, but we're also not to worry about paying any of the bills! It has all been taken care of."

Prue just stood with her mouth open and Cathy was looking at the credit cards. She gave Prue the one with her name on; Prue just stood there holding the card.

"Prue? Do you have know any one who might do this?"

"I don't have any family, only you."

Cathy picked up the other two envelopes and looked at them. One had Cathy on it, the other had Prue on it. Cathy gave Prue her envelope and Cathy opened hers.

Cathy said, "Oh my God! Some one has paid all my college fees as well for the whole of my time there!"

"They've done the same for me too! Who would do this for us?"

"I don't know but who are we to argue?"

Cathy grabbed the keys and said, "Shall we see what car they got us?"

Prue had a big grin on her face. "Okay, lets go and see. I bet its some beat up old thing."

They both got their shoes and coats on and went down to see which car was there for them.

Prue turned to Cathy and asked, "How do we find the right car?"

Cathy looked at the car keys and then she saw the alarm zapper. She pushed it and looked up and down the street to see which car opened. Cathy and Prue were both amazed when the car in front of them made a noise and the doors opened. Cathy and Prue both went "WOW" at the same time. The car in front of them was a top of the range BMW Convertible in white!

Cathy got in the driver's seat, due to the fact that Prue hadn't got a license. Cathy thought she would never have a car again. She had sold hers to pay the rent a month ago. Prue looked in the glove box and found the envelope and opened it. Inside there was a map and some directions on how to get to the house. Cathy started the car and pulled off and started on the way to the new house. Prue was telling Cathy when and were to turn.

Prue said, "This should be the road."

"Are you sure? All these houses look way too big. hat number is it?"

"Its number twelve."

Cathy started driving really slow up the road and Prue was looking at the numbers.

"These numbers are going down so we need the other end of the road. We're still in the hundreds."

Cathy started to speed up to get to the other end of the road. When they saw they were getting close to the right number, Cathy started to slow down again.

All of a sudden Prue shouted, "Stop! That's it! That's number twelve."

Cathy stopped the car and then looked at the number on the gate and asked, "Are you sure this is the right road Prue?"

"Yes look. This is the name on the map."

"Well how do we get in? The gate looks like it is electronic and I don't see any intercom to ask for help."

Prue was looking in the glove box when she felt something at the back. She pulled it out and looked it over. It looked like a TV remote with fewer buttons on it so Prue pushed the button that said "Gate" on it, and the gates started to open. Cathy and Prue just looked at each other and gave a shrug. Cathy put the car in gear and started to drive up the long driveway. The road went around a bend and as they went round they came face to face with a really modern looking building. Both girls just sat in the car looking at the house. Prue saw a button that said "Garage" so she pushed it and a big wooden door opened under the upper part of the house. Cathy pulled in to the garage and turned the engine off. They both got out and started to look around. The garage was really big and the BMW looked lost on its own. Just as they were about to move away from the car, the garage door started to shut which made them both jump.

Cathy said, "Don't worry. I think they shut automatically if you leave them open for to long." As the door finished shutting, a light came on in the garage. Prue saw the door that must lead up stairs so they walked over and tried the handle, but it was locked. Cathy got the house keys out of her purse and looked for one that looked like it would fit and tried it. The door opened and they both went up the stairs.

Cathy said, "This place is amazing!"

The first room they got to was the kitchen and they both just stood and looked, then Prue saw another envelope on the breakfast bar and picked it up. It had both names on it, so she opened it and started to read what it said.

Dear Cathy, and Prue,

I know by now you will be thinking what is going on. Well, all you need to know is that all your needs will be taken care of so please don't worry about money or anything apart from your studying. You will not need to work any more and you will find food in the house to get you started. There will be a cleaning lady coming around three times a week and there is security around at all times. This is no joke and all we ask for is that you don't try to find out who is doing this for you. When the time is right you will find out.

Signed, a Friend

PS. If you need to talk to any one, please ring the
number on the business card in the envelope. They will sort out any problems you may have.

Cathy just looked at Prue and then said, "Well, it all looks genuine to me. What do you want to do stay here or go back to that dump of a room we have bean living in?"

Prue just looked at Cathy, put her finger to her chin as she was thinking and then said, "Let me think. We live here! Are you mad?"

Cathy just started laughing and said, "I thought you would say that. Well, we better go and get our things from the old place and then we can have a look around, okay?"

Prue just said, "Okay, lets go."

And with that they went back down to the car and headed back to get their stuff.

When they had their stuff in the car they went to give the room keys back to Mr. Jones and said goodbye and headed back to the new house. Cathy and Prue were still in shock about it all but they were to excited to look for a down side.

Cathy and Prue got back and put their stuff in their rooms which were identical and really big. Cathy walked out on to the balcony and looked at the view. Prue came out of her room and did the same. When Cathy looked down she saw the big glass building and she could just make out the pool. She looked at Prue and they both started to giggle and then they were laughing. As they were making their way down to the pool, Cathy heard a phone ringing and she went back to answer it.

She picked up the hand set and said, "Hello, this is Cathy. Can I help you?"

The person at the other end of the phone asked if everything was all right.

Cathy said, "Yes, thank you but why are you doing this for me and Prue? Do I know you?"

The voice just said, "Not yet but you will soon. If you have read the letter on the breakfast bar you know what you have to do. If you need anything ring the number on the card and by the way my name is Sandra, okay? Bye."

With that the phone went dead and Cathy put it down. Prue was stood there and asked who it was.

Cathy just said, "It was some one called Sandra and she was just confirming what it said in the letter over there. This is our new home and we have nothing to worry about."

So Cathy and Prue made it their new home and started to concentrate on their college work. Jenny was getting better as the weeks went on. Connie had taken the casts off her legs and her back was much better. The only down side was, Jenny would have to keep wearing a corset. She could get around on crutches, but it was hard and it gave her some pain, so the nurse would push her around in a wheel chair.

Jenny became good friends with the nurse whose name was Michelle. Jenny found that Michelle was also a maid and when Jenny was well again, Michelle would be teaching her everything about being a girl, from makeup to getting dressed!

Sandra would spend lots of time with Jenny as well. They would talk and watch TV and go for walks in the gardens around the house, or mansion, as it were.

Jenny felt a love that she had never felt before and for once, she had a place to call home. Jenny found out how Cathy was doing every day and Sandra had people taking photos so Jenny would get to see her sister. Jenny would just sit and cry some times when she thought that she might have lost her sister.

Sandra had hired some security people to keep an eye on Cathy and Prue so they never got into any trouble nor did they get any trouble from people wanting what they had.

Jenny was starting to look more like Cathy every day which made her really happy. Jenny was developing quite quickly into a girl, her breasts were a b-cup and she was starting to get a nice shape, filling out in the hips and bum area.

Jenny asked Connie if it was normal for it to happen this fast and Connie said, "That's because there was no testosterone being produced so there was nothing to stop the new hormones from working. Don't worry, I knew this would happen. You will be able to have surgery to have the last part of your old self removed in the next month or two."

"Will it hurt? I'm scared that something will go wrong."

"You will be fine. With what you have been through already this will be the last scary thing you have to go through, I promise."

Sandra was standing near Jenny when Connie told Jenny the news. When Connie finished Sandra came over and gave Jenny a big hug.

"You will be the prettiest girl around, I promise."

Jenny asked Sandra about Cathy, and if they were ok. Sandra had a big envelope and she gave it to Jenny. She opened it and took out a bunch of photos and started looking at them. Sandra just sat there watching how happy the photo's made her and when she was done looking at them Jenny had a little cry like she always did.

"I so want to just hold her and never let go."

Sandra was hugging Jenny by this point and just said, "It won't be long and you can be sisters for the rest of your lives."

Jenny hugged Sandra back and said, "Thank you, mum, for everything."

When Jenny pulled away Sandra had tears in her eyes. Jenny said, "What's wrong? Have I said something that I shouldn't?"

"No honey, you called me mum! That's the first time I have ever heard that and it sounded really good."

"I love you mum!" and with that Jenny throw her arms back around her and started to cry with her. When they finally broke apart they were both laughing.

"Come on Jenny. Lets go and get some dinner, shall we?"

"Ok mum. I'll lead the way and you start pushing."

Sandra got hold of the wheelchair and started pushing it towards the kitchen and they were giggling and laughing all the way. About two weeks later Jenny was sat in the garden talking with Michelle about fashion and clothing when Sandra and Connie came out and asked Michelle if she would excuse them for a minute. When Michelle had gone out of sight Connie looked at Sandra and then looked at Jenny. This was making Jenny very nervous.

So Jenny said, "What? Is there something wrong? Has something happened to Cathy?"

"No honey, Cathy is fine. Connie has something to tell you."

"Jenny, we will be leaving tonight. You're going in for your operation tomorrow."

"I thought you said a month or two?"

"Yes I did, but the surgeon that we want to do the operation is going away on a cruise and will be away for most of the year."

Jenny was thinking about all she had been through and the fact that this would be the last peace of her old life and then she would have a new life. She started to smile and then asked, "When do we leave, mum?"

"We leave right now." Sandra turned to Michelle and yelled, "Michelle please pack some things for mys elf and for Jenny? We are going to be away for a few days. And make the things for Jenny loose fitting, she is going into hospital."

"Yes, Will you be eating before you leave?"

"No we will be leaving as soon as we are packed."

Michelle left them to get themselves ready and she went about getting all the things packed. When she had it all done she took it out to the car and put it in the trunk. Then she went back in and told Sandra that they were ready to leave as soon as they were ready. Jenny was really quiet in the car as they drove to the hospital.

Sandra asked, "What's wrong Jenny? You don't look very happy. Are you scared?"

"Yes I am, and I keep thinking about Cathy. Do you think she will want me as her sister? I mean I have been alive all this time and she doesn't know."

"Jenny, what you are doing is the right thing to do. She will get through her college courses and then you will be back together again."

And with that Sandra gave Jenny a big hug, and Jenny gave Sandra one back. Jenny found herself wondering what Cathy would be doing right now. Cathy was just finishing some laundry off, and putting it away. She opened the bottom drawer in her dresser to put some things away. That's when she saw the carrier bag that had the presents in that she had brought for Jenny. Cathy pulled the bag out and took it over to the bed and sat down. Cathy was finding it hard to let go of her guilt over what had happened. She pulled the things out of the bag and started looking at them.

Prue was walking past Cathy's room and just happened to look in and see Cathy holding the clothing. She said, "You been shopping Cathy?"

At this point Cathy started crying and Prue came in and sat next to her.

"Hay what's wrong? Why all the tears?"

"These are not my clothes. I bought them for Jenny that Saturday. You know, I never got to see her in them?"

Prue gave Cathy a hug and said, "Lay down and get some rest. I'll call you when dinner is ready, kay?"

Cathy nodded and closed her eyes. Prue covered Cathy with a blanket and left the room. Jenny was laying in the bed at the hospital and Sandra sat next to her.

"Mom I'm scared. Will you be here when I wake up?"

"Yes honey, I will. I have the room next to yours and the nurses will come and tell me when you wake up, okay?"

Jenny smiled at this. She had found some one to truly love her and Cathy. At this point the door to the room opened and a man walked in, wearing a white coat, and then Jenny saw Connie behind him.

Connie said, "Hi Jenny, this is doctor .. "

At this point the man spoke for the first time. "Please call me Bill, and you must be Jenny? Pleased to meet you."

Jenny smiled and then sat quiet as Sandra, Connie and Bill talked about things. When they had done, Bill went out of the room for a minute or two, then came back with a nurse.

Bill said, "Jenny, the nurse is going to give you something to put you to sleep and when you wake up it will all be over, okay?"

Jenny was to frightened to speak so she just nodded her head and then closed her eyes while the nurse put the needle in her arm. Jenny opened her eyes just as Sandra kissed her cheek. Jenny gave a nervous smile and started to feel really sleepy. The last thing Jenny heard as she fell asleep was Sandra saying, "I'll be here when you wake up, little kitten."
