I am glad that people enjoyed my real life adventure. A couple of you have wanted to know more about how I got here from there. I actually wrote this adventure down some time before "Looking for Work". I have kept a jounal of my adventures ever since I started going out. This adventures covers a long period of time but it is in chronological order.

The Other Women

by Sandi Stephens

My wife Cheryl knows about the other woman in my life, Sandi. She has known about her since our third date, when I told her. If fact she is now quite supportive and doesn't mind if she visits often. Cheryl and I do have boundaries though, Sandi is not allowed in our bedroom, unless it is to dress and undress. I guess at this point I should point out that Sandi is me. I have been dressing as a woman for many years. It started in earnest when I was about 12. Then it was just a way to increase the arousal when I masturbated. Now some 20 years later I rarely get aroused when I dress. I have to admit that I do get excited when I think about dressing. When I got my drivers license at 17 I did the fugitive late night drive at 3am and the drive to the closed mall to do some window-shopping. I will let you know that I am 5'11" and about 200lbs, and when I dress I may not be the most attractive woman but I am treated as a woman and on occasion believed to be one.

About 5 years ago I told Cheryl that Sandi needed to go out and meet some like-minded people. So with her OK I joined the local Tri-Ess chapter. It was the first time that I had met another cross-dresser. I started to attend the meetings and even spent 2 days at the Holiday En femme convention. Then the group fell apart. Like many groups of this kind, a few very dedicated individuals took on all the work and they got tired (rightly so) of having to do all the work. There was another group in town but it was not to my wife's likings so I did not join. Still craving the need to get out of the house Sandi started to look at ways of getting out. I worked at various positions that allowed the odd day off in a month, and this seemed perfect. Cheryl's only requirement was that our children were not to see Sandi. Because of their age both Cheryl and I agree that this is not the time to tell them. So my time would be from approximately 9am until 2:30pm, this would give me time to get home and tear down before the kids got home from school. So instead of going out with the protection of the darkness Sandi was going to be showing herself in the daylight.

There were some things that I would have to learn. Because almost all of my makeup skills were for evenings and formal occasions I had to learn to tone down my application. With the help of Cheryl it did not take me to long to get the hang of "day time" makeup application. My wardrobe would have to be expanded as well. You just don't fit in at the mall at 10 o'clock in the morning wearing an evening gown. With only one or two outfits I would just go for a drive and maybe stop at 7-11 to get a pop.

One day out stands out in my memory, I got dressed in my short hair dirty blonde wig, my favourite red fuzzy sweater and a black broom skirt. On my feet I wore my flat boots. I had been trying to grow out my nails, and since they were about 1/4 inch past my fingertips I decided to paint them the same red as my sweater. I was looking and feeling good so I decided that I would go into a shop and look for some clothes. Special thanks go to Classic Kelly and Jennifer Fitzpatrick's websites. Without there experiences I would never have felt that I could go out. Now because of my size I have to shop at the larger lady shops. Thank goodness that over the years they have been getting some very stylish clothes. Anyway back to my story. I had gone in and was just going to get some underwear and look at the fashions that were out.

While in the store I had decided to get a couple of pairs of panties as they were on sale. As I was walking by the changing room one of the clerks asked me if she could start a room for me. You could have knocked me over with a feather. It took me a moment to recover, but when I did, look out. I said yes and started shopping for real. I picked out a number of skirts, blouses and pants to help make my daytime wardrobe complete. I even tried on an evening gown just because I could. As I was trying on the clothes the clerk would occasionally ask how things were going. I had her running all over the store trying to find things that would fit. At one point I came out in a pair of pants that were OK but not quite what I was looking for, and walked around with the clerk looking to find the style that I really wanted. There were other women in the store, and they did not pay any attention to me other than to tell me that they liked the top or bottoms that I was wearing. When I finally dressed in the clothes that I came in with, I had a hand full to take to the counter. There were 3 blouses, two pants and a skirt and a nice business dress. I even got a pair of jeans. If you know me you would not believe that, as I never wear jeans in my regular life. The price tag was almost as big as the bags that I had to carry out.

The good news was that now I was able to go out during the day and not wear the same thing every time. My confidence was also soaring. I now know for sure that it really is how you present yourself, and that money does talk. I have returned to that store often. I have also gone to many other stores and shopped as well. One of my favourite places to shop is at the grocery store. I have actually done a lot of the grocery shopping over the last year. Cheryl prefers it as when Sandi does the shopping, because Sandi takes her time and gets treats and snacks for the kids. It is probably because I enjoy my time out and that I really don't have any place I would rather be. I enjoy just doing everyday things when I dress.

In May of the second year out and about, I had asked Cheryl if we could attend the TG conference in Port Angeles Washington called Esprit. It is a 7-day event and it would give me an opportunity to spend the week en femme. Cheryl agreed, but said that there was no way we could arrange for both of us to go. The kids still needed to go to school so she would have to stay home. I spent 4 days packing and repacking to make sure that I had everything I needed. As an aside I actually forgot all of my jewellery. It was at Esprit that I got the greatest complement, up to that point in my dressing life. It was after the first night out and on the way back into the hotel. I was following a friend into the hotel when, at the door an older gentleman grabbed the door and said something to the effect "This way you don't have fight to get your key." My friend went in and thanked him, and then I followed. As I passed by the man I thanked him, and he looked at me and in a surprised voice said, "Hey your not a man!" It was all that I could talk about the rest of the night, and maybe for a few days after(LOL). It was an incredible week and my face was very glad that it was not eight days long; I don't think I could have done another close shave. It was probably the most lifestyle affirming experience I have ever had.

This last X-mas Cheryl was doing a lot of extra work and asked me if I would go do the gift shopping. I grumbled a little and said, "You know I never know what to buy, I forget the little things." Hoping that she would just not bother me with it. To my surprise she responded, "I was taking to Sandi",I immediately agreed. Again I would have to be out after the kids left for school and home before they got home. My makeup application is pretty good if I do say so myself, but I have to admit that I still really enjoy when Cheryl does my day makeup. I always feel that much more confidant. On the morning that I was to go shopping I suggested to Cheryl that since it was her idea that Sandi do the shopping that it was only fair that she do my makeup. She agreed chuckling and shaking her head saying "Gaw'd you are High maintenance girlfriend!" To give me a little more time Cheryl took the youngest to school on her way to work. I was able to get out of the house almost exactly at 9:00am. I knew that I was going to be running around town so I decided to dress in jeans, low heels and a nice white blouse. Underneath I wore a white bra and panty set and as always my 44D breast forms and my Veronica II, hip pads. Without my Veronica, I don't have the shape. With it I have a bum and I fill out the pants properly. I spent the day in countless malls and stores. I bought for everyone on the list and I even got stocking stuffers for everyone. It was a fabulous day. It also required me to use my voice; it is getting better and more convincing. I decided that one gift for my wife, was for her and my male side Dave. Cheryl and Sandi spend some time together but it is always time that Dave and Cheryl could have spent together. I wanted Cheryl to realize that I know how important that spending time as husband and wife is. I purchased season tickets at a dinner theatre place in town called Celebrations. It is a very interesting place were as soon as they open the doors all the waiters and waitresses are in costume and characters. The main principles in the production are also part of the serving staff.

When X-mas was over Cheryl was very happy with all the gifts that Sandi had bought for everyone, and was especially happy about the season tickets. I had told her that she and Dave were to use those tickets. She smiled and gave me a big hug. One funny note about the presents given this year was that Cheryl had given me a gift certificate from the same clothing store that I got one for her. Through out the year, Dave and Cheryl enjoyed going to Celebrations about once every 7 weeks. With only two shows left in the year the people at Celebrations called to let us know that they were having a seat sale, and if we wanted to we could use our tickets for the upcoming show for a later show, and buy tickets for the current show for a reduced price. Cheryl agreed that it was a good idea and made the plans. When the new season started we had a pair of tickets that we could use. I found a good date and booked the evening.

On the day of the production both Cheryl and I had the day off. She told me that she would like to spend the day with Sandi. I said, "Sure as long as we would be home in time for me to change before the kids got home and we can make it to the show." She replied, "What ever", not her usual response. The next day I was to leave to attend a TG conference and Cheryl though that since I would not be around for a few days she wanted to see what everyone else would see. We started the day with Cheryl doing my makeup. She used some colours that initially I thought would not work. Boy was I wrong. She then used a dark cinnamon lip colour and liner. Next was my glue on nails that Cheryl had painted the night before. I then got dressed the rest of the way. On my last outing I had purchased a wine coloured skirt with matching jacket and a silky white blouse. I had also found a pair of shoes on the Internet that matched the outfit exactly. I had waited until I got the shoes to wear the outfit and it was well worth it. I put in my long star dangly earrings. I had got my ears pierced a few weeks after I returned from Esprit. I then put on my crowning glory, my red wig in an up-do.

A couple of months previous I had gone to a local wig shop to have the wig washed and set. While I was there I talked to the clerk about up-dos. She walked over to the shelf with all the falls, and picked out one that matched my wig. She said that she could use the fall to make a realistic up-do and I agreed. I waited a few days and went to pick the wig up dressed. The girl did not even recognize me.

Cheryl and I started the day at a coffee house with nice conversation. We then went to run some errands. It was getting close to noon and Cheryl told me she was getting hungry, so she picked a place that Dave and she had been before. It was a very nice lunch with a few drinks. In the middle of lunch I really had to go to the bathroom. I excused myself and headed to the ladies room. I had been in the men's room here but not the ladies room. The bathroom was fascinating. There was a fireplace and all the stalls had ceiling to floor doors. When I walked in there was a woman breast-feeding. I picked the first stall and went in to do my business. When I was done I washed my hands and reapplied my lipstick and headed back to the table. Cheryl and I finished lunch and paid the bill. The waitress told us to, "Have a good day, Ladies". Lunch had taken longer than I had expected, and it was getting close to the time that I would have to get home to tear down. Cheryl said there was one more stop before we went home. She told me to drive to the drugstore close to home. As we were getting close, I check the time and it was even closer to the time that we would have to be home. When we arrived at the drug store, Cheryl hopped out of the car and told me to come in with her. I followed her in, trying hard to get her to acknowledge the time. She wandered the store, with me in tow, stopping often to ask me what I thought of this or that. When we got back to the car it was the time that the oldest would arrive home. I was worried and nervous asking Cheryl what we were going to do. She would not talk about it. As I was rounding the last corner on our street, Cheryl told me to stop the car.

I pulled over and said, "Finally what are we going to do?"

Cheryl looked at me and said, "I am getting out and walking home, you are going here, to get acrylic nails for your trip away." She handed me a business card for a local nail place. I was not sure what to do or say. "Look you go get your nail done and I will met you at Celebrations OK."

I replied, "What about the deal that the seasons tickets, they are for you and Dave?"

"The season tickets are. These tickets not part of the season's tickets. These ones are extra. Now hurry you don't want to be late." She jumped out of the car and waved as she walked down the street to the house.

I was shocked and it took me a minute to get my bearings. I turned the car around and headed to the salon. I got there exactly on time. The nail technician called me and I went and sat down. The girl busied herself with making the nails, only really talking when she needed to know the length and colour that I wanted. Choosing a length of about 1/2 inch past my fingers and a colour that matched my lip colour. I had always wanted to have acrylic nails and now I was going to be the proud owner of a set. It took about 40 minutes for the girl to complete them. I was amazed; they felt very different than the stick-on types, and much sturdier. I paid the girl and left her a nice tip. I then headed to the car. I think that I sat in the car tapping my nails for at least 5 minutes. Finally coming back to reality, I checked my watch and it was still an hour to go before the play. I was getting thirsty so I headed off to find a 7-11. I went in and got a pop, and a lottery ticket. When I was leaving a man about my age held the door open for me and gave me a big smile. I smiled back and got back into the car. I figured that it was time to head to the dinner theatre. I arrived about 15 minutes before the doors opened. As I was waiting for Cheryl to arrive my cell phone rang, it was Cheryl.

"Hi Sandi, look I am running a few minutes late would you be a doll and get the tickets from the box office. Thanks dear see you soon." I did not even get a change to respond.

When the doors opened I headed in to the box office. The clerk asked me the name the tickets were under. I gave our last name and she said for Dave and Cheryl? I replied, "Yes that's right"

"Here you go Cheryl have a great evening." She said as she handed me my tickets.

I took the tickets and waited in the lobby for the real Cheryl to arrive. The lobby was filling up quite quickly and I found myself in a rather crowded room. I was able to make my way to a less crowed corner away from the doors. I was just checking my watch when I heard Cheryl's voice.

"Sandi! There you are, I haven't seen you in such along time". I looked up and saw Cheryl waving at me as she made her way through the crowd, with everyone staring at me. When she got to me we hugged like two old girl friends complete with kisses on the cheeks. Cheryl acted like she had not seen me in years. "You look great, and let me see those nails." The doors opened and we stood in line with everyone else. We made small chitchat as the line moved forward. When it was our turn the hostess took our tickets and lead us to our table. I was just about to say that the table was not the table I had reserved when; Cheryl thanked the hostess and said that she was glad that there was not a problem switching the table so late. I gave her a funny look, and she just smiled. We sat down and I asked her, "Why did you change the table?"

"Because the other table is where Dave and I sit, your not Dave tonight so we had to change the table" was her reply.

The waitress arrived and asked us if there was anything we would like to drink. I ordered a Margarita and Cheryl ordered a Daiquiri. The tables at Celebrations are arranged in small rows. Our table was in the middle of two other tables. As usual Cheryl and I sat across from each other. We were talking about what we had heard about tonight's production, when the hostess returned to our table to seat an elderly couple. We introduced ourselves and made small chitchat. They were Roger and Alice. We all talked and were getting along fine. That is until Alice asked where my husband was. I must have looked like a deer in the headlights. Alice smiled and pointed to my wedding band. Just then the waitress showed up to ask the couple what they would like to drink. Giving their drink order had distracted Alice from her question. As the waitress left I excused myself to go to the washroom. Alice spoke up and asked her if I would show her were the bathroom was as she said, "Would you be a dear and help me, I don't want to get lost coming back?"

I waited as she got out from the table and we walked out to find the bathroom. As I actually had to go to the bathroom I took an empty stall and did my business. I came out and washed my hands, as this was the first time that I had been in this bathroom, and I always like to see if there are any vending machines so that I can get a memento. There was a tampon machine so I decided to get one. As I was putting my change in the machine Alice came out and told me that she was so glad that she did not have to worry about the curse anymore. I smiled as I put the tampon in my purse and we headed out of the bathroom. Just as we go to the main room, Roger met us in the lobby and took Alice outside for a cigarette. As I returned to the dinning area I was having trouble finding our table.

I was looking for a table with just Cheryl. I then realized that in my absence two men, both about my age had filled the other two seats. I tried to squeeze by but the man stood up and pulled out my chair and then helped me with my chair as I sat down. Cheryl was all excited, she introduced the two men to me; they were Mike and Brian. I was sitting next to Mike; he was tall and was wearing a great aftershave. I though that Dave should try it so I asked Mike what the fragrance was. He told me and I started to dig in my purse to find a piece of paper and pen to write it down. Before I could get what I needed from my purse Mike handed me a business card with the name of the cologne on the back. I thanked him and put it away. We talked a little with the two men. This was their first time here so we explained the whole process. The elderly coupled returned and introductions were in order. When it came to Mike's turn he introduced himself as Mike Stephens, my last name. I turned my head to look at him so fast if I had not had put tape to hold my wig on it would have been on the floor. After shaking hands he put his arm around the back of my chair. He then leaned in and told me that he just wanted to have fun. I looked over at Cheryl and she was smiling so hard that she had to use her napkin so as to not give the joke away. Alice gave me a bit of an elbow and say, "You never told me you were married to such a handsome young man." Just then Brian spoke up and said, "Yeah and it is their anniversary tonight too. What has it been two years?"

"It seems like it only just happened" was Mike's reply. Cheryl was having a drink and when Mike spoke. She almost spit her drink up through her nose. "Are you alright Cheryl", I asked, "Fine Sandi but I need to go have a smoke, please come with me. This was always the code Cheryl used when she needed to take me away from a situation, as neither one of us smoke it was obvious to me that she wanted to talk. I was just getting up and Mike got up and helped pull my chair out saying, "Here you go honey, don't be long I will miss you." Oh Darling what do you want to eat for dinner I can order for you and Cheryl when the waitress comes back?" I ordered the Chicken and Cheryl the fish dish. Cheryl and I hurried off to the lobby. Cheryl grabbed my hand and we continued outside. Cheryl was laughing so hard she had tears running down her face. "This is hilarious, Sandi, don't you think so?"

"No I don't, what's going on?"

"Don't be so silly, they are just playing. Play along with it OK."

"Alright"

"Let get back in before the show starts." Cheryl said as she, grabbed my hand and let me back inside.

As we got back to our table Mike and Brian stood up and pulled the chairs for Cheryl and I.

Mike spoke up and said, "Sandi, sweetheart Alice and Roger, bought us a bottle of wine for our anniversary, isn't that nice."

I turned to Alice and thanked her telling her that it was really not necessary. Alice replied that of course it was necessary, it is always wonderful celebrating love. Cheryl then picked up her glass and through a smile that was ear to ear said, "To the happy couple". Everyone drank to the toast. Just then the lights went down, and the play started. The play was very good. It was a mixture of singing, dancing, and dialogue. About 1 hour in the lights came on and the waiters were busy serving the food. There was some small talk about the production as the tables were being served. Our meal finally came and we spent more time eating than talking. When I had a full mouth Alice asked me when Mike and I were going to have children. I almost choked; Cheryl chimed in and said, "Yes Sandi, it has been two years isn't it time you had kids. If looks could kill, Cheryl and the people behind her would have died.

Before I could finish chewing and answer, Mike spoke up and said that we had just decided today that this was my last night drinking before we started trying. I kicked Mike under the table, hard enough the he said "OH", realizing the it was out loud, he covered by saying, Don't be shy, love, it's ok for them to know." Brian at this point could not hold it in and started choking and spit up into his napkin. Trying to cover he said that something went down the wrong pipe. One of the waiters saw Brian, and came over and made a joke about the food, and it being too spicy. We finished up and the dishes were whisked away and act 2 started. During the show I looked over at Cheryl and she looked at me with a big smile and rocked her arms like she was holding a baby. She went back to watching the show and I was unable to catch her gaze again. The lights came up for dessert. During dessert, some of the actors got up on stage and asked for people who were celebrating birthdays. I froze; I just remembered that after the birthday thing they did the same for people who were celebrating anniversaries. People got up on stage and were introduced. I was frantically trying to think of a way to not be there for the couple thing. I though the bathroom! I tried to excuse myself but Mike said that he would not let me go because in a minute we would have to be on stage. I looked at Cheryl hoping for some sympathy. She looked at me and mouthed, "You agreed!" I sat waiting for the inevitable; I took a couple of drinks to try to steady myself. Only a few minutes later the anniversary celebrators we called on stage. I was slow to move, and Alice was pointing wildly at me when the actor with the microphone was asking for people to rat on there friends to get them up. Mike stood up and took my hand and led me up on stage. There was about 5 or 6 couples up on stage. To prolong my embarrassment, Mike made sure that we were in the middle of the pack. The actors introduce the people on stage starting on one end then they go to the other end, working their way to the middle. While up there Mike put his arm around me and whispered that I was a good sport about playing along. They finally came to us. The standard question is, "How long have you been married?" Mike spoke and told the actress, "2 Years today" he said with a sense of satisfaction in his voice. After all the couples had been introduced one of the actresses told us that they were going to have us do the same thing that we did on our wedding night.... Dance. The actors starting singing and Mike took me and spun me around and took the lead. Then the actor told everyone in the audience to tinkle their glasses. Mike spun we away and dipped me down and just gave me a peck of the lips. From the back I think that is looked much worse. I could hear the crowd cheering, but I could easily make out Cheryl's voice. Mike stood me up and they handed us a coupon for a free shooter. Making sure that I was steady he helped me back to our table. Just as I was going to sit down Cheryl said, "I have to go to the ladies room", with a look that said You have to go too. I grabbed my purse as Cheryl grabbed my hand. We both went in and had to wait for a stall. "Wow what a kiss, he gave you girlfriend" the women in front of us said. I smiled and say, blushing, "He is a good kisser". Fortunately the stalls were empting quickly, and we did not have to wait to long. As I was going in Cheryl said that after we were going outside to talk. In the stall I did my business and came out, washed my hands. Looking in the mirror I decided that I would reapply my lipstick. I did not see Cheryl come up behind me and she said, "Preparing for the next kiss?" I smiled and we left the bathroom. Standing outside in the night air was a bit chilly but Cheryl wanted to know the hot details. I told her how he had dipped me but barely gave me a peck.

Cheryl said, "That's is not the way it looked from the table. I would have thought that he was checking to see if you still had your tonsils."

We both laughed and I told her that it was very strange, as I had never done that before.

"I know Sandi, but you always say that you like to know what it is like to be a women", was her response.

"Yes", I said, "but not that part".

"We all have to do things that we don't want to do, Cheryl said as a big smile came across her face, and maybe we get to do some things that we have always wanted to do" "Lets get back in before we miss the show or catch a cold or both." With that we headed back to our table. Even before we got back to the table the lights were going down.

The rest of the performance was very good, with more singing, dancing and comedy. When the lights came up Roger and Alice quickly said their good byes and left. After they had gone through the doors Mike, Brian and Cheryl started to laugh. Reliving the "high points" of the evening. Mike turned to me and thanked me for being such a good sport and playing alone. I said, "No problem, I feel terrible about lying to them." Mike leaned into me and said, "You're a doll!", and gave me a kiss on the cheek.

"All right you two the honeymoon and the anniversary are all over, it is time for us to go.", Brian said as he stood and put on his jacket. "Its has been great meeting you two and hope we meet up again." Mike and Brian walked out. Cheryl and I followed soon afterward, having to finish my "Anniversary Wine". As we were walking to the car Cheryl said, "What a fantastic night, we will have to do this again."

"I had a great time too, thank you for suggesting it", I replied. "We had better get home so we can get ready for tomorrow".

Speaking of that, I have a surprise for you, Cheryl said as she grabbed my keys and walked to the driver side.

"Another surprise, I said trying to feign disappointment"

"The reason that I am late is because I took a cab to take your stuff for tomorrow to a local motel. Here is your key." Cheryl dropped the key to the motel into my hands as we exited the parking lot.

"That is nice but why don't we just go home."

"You can't be home and have the kids see your nails. And I am sure that you do not want to take them off do you?"

"No, so are we going to stay at the motel, who did you get to take care of the kids, I asked not sure about the rest of her plan.

"Sandi, we, are not going to stay at the motel, you are. I am going home and you are going to stay at the motel."

"So am I going to drop you off and then head to the motel?"

No, I need your car for tomorrow.

"Cheryl, would you please just tell me the plan", I pleaded.

OK, Sandi here it is, tonight you are to stay and leave David behind. I have packed your suitcase and it includes some extras like nighties, lingerie and some clothes for tomorrow, daywear. You are to get up and get Sandi out by 9:AM. First I will be taking Sandi out for breakfast and then to the train station so she can go to the convention. Now give me a kiss and get going I want to get home." Cheryl pulled into the parking lot of the motel.

I was dumbfounded, although I don't think anything could have taken the smile off my face. I leaned towards Cheryl to give her a passionate kiss, she pulled away from me and said, "You're the one who likes women, not me", and Cheryl leaned back towards me giving me her cheek.

I got out of the car as Cheryl, reminded me to be ready by 9:am sharp. She blew me a kiss and drove off, leaving me to find my room. It was one of those motels that have the doors on the outside. I found the room on the second floor. I opened the door and walked in. Lying on the bed was a gorgeous royal blue nightgown. Attached was a note. Feeling the material I read the note. "I Love you, see you tomorrow. Cheryl"

It was getting late so I got undressed, cleaned off my makeup and wig and slipped into the nightgown. As a snuggled into bed I said aloud. "Good night Cheryl I love you too!"
