SRU: Barbie the Moll                      by: Paul G. Jutras

Bruce Moll was wanted in three states for murder Officer Steve Lee had his siren blowing as the two cars raced through the city in a massive car chase. Sirens blazing, Steve aimed his gun out the driver's window and shot out Bruce's back left tire. Bruce lost control of his car and skidding into the back window of a mall store. The impact caused Bruce to go flying through the windshield with shardes of glass cutting through him like steel blades. Rolling off the hood, he knocked a rack of dolls on top of him. This caused The Wizard to step out from the back room.

"Please!" Bruce begged. "Help me!'

Seeing the look on his face and having a blue police light shine in the store, The Wizard gave Bruce a weird smile.

When Steve entered the shop, he found The Wizard standing over Bruce's dead body. "Alright Freeze!" he cried.

"This is officer Lee with Metro South." Steve said into his car phone.

"Send a mortician at the corner of East and Vine."

The next day, a little girl name Susan and her older brother, Dan was shopping in the mall. "Just pick some and let's go, sis." Dan grinned at The Wizard who stood beside his cash register.

"May I make a suggestion?" The Wizard asked, handing Susan a fashion model doll. "Her name is Barbie Moll, I just got her in last night."

"She's wonderful." Susan smiled. "Is this enough?"

"Just enough." The wizard smiled.

Most of the afternoon was spent with Susan doing Barbie's hair and nails. When it was time for bed, she put Barbie in a baby doll nightie and set her in a doll house. As soon as Susan was asleep; however, Barbie sat up in bed and walked to the doll house closet. She then selected a costume of an old fashion gangster's gun moll.

"That Dan will be perfect," Barbie walked over to the edge of the house and lept to the floor below. She then crept out of Susan's bed room and went down the hall to Dan's. "Once his body is mine, that Wizard will pay for doing this to me. If he had any plans of turning me to normal, he would of sold me to some dumb girl."

In his room Dan rolled over. Somehow he could sense that he wasn't alone. He opened his eyes and saw Barbie laying in bed beside him. "What the hell?" he said grabbing the doll and squeezing its stomach. Liquid got all over his hand. "Great. A doll that wets." Dan complained. "Susan is going to get it for this."

"No Dan," Barbie said with a smile. "You're the one who is getting the make over."

"Huh?"

Dan dropped Barbie onto the bed and got to his feet. He took a step back, his foot landing on his baseball. He lost his balance and fell back, hitting his head against the wall. His uncoinious body slumped to the floor.

"Now to call that wizard and have him transfer my soul."

Barbie knocked the reciever off the hook and started to dial. "Why could these people get with the times and get a push button."

Just then, The Wizard appeared in Dan's bedroom.

"I thought if you could become a doll, I could make you into a good girl."

The Wizard sighed with disapointment.

"I see that won't happen. You've always like to play with others and I can see now that you'll never be anything more than something for someone else to play with.

With that, he raised his hand. Dan was put back into bed and made to think he was dreaming. Barbie was transported to the doll house. Her ability to move taken away.

THE END
