Summertime Pinks

by Little Katie

Part 2

Billy was awake but didn't want to open his eyes. Did yesterday actually happen or was it some sort of dream. Some kind of wonderful, pleasurable and eye opening dream. He could feel his younger sister slightly stir in his arms and he knew where he was. He tilted his head and took a deep whiff of her hair. The smell of strawberries made him sigh in delight. He gently stroked his sisters long silky strands of hair and wondered if his hair could ever get that soft. He still wondered if he was wearing what he remembered putting on last night. Slowly Billy opened his eyes and had to wait a few seconds to adjust to the light. He looked down, all he could see was the sheet that gingerly covered him.

"Hi sis," Amanda said as she too woke up.

"Hi." Billy smiled and gave his sister a squeeze on her shoulder.

"Did you sleep good, you was humming a little bit."

"No I wasn't."

"Yep, it was like you were having a really good dream."

"I don't know, maybe."

Amanda rolled out of bed, Billy could see her naked butt through the white see through nighty. He remembered that she was wearing that and he kicked the sheet off of himself in excited anticipation. Sure enough he was wearing a similar nighty, the only difference being that his was pink instead of white.

"So I wasn't dreaming," Billy said.

"Huh?"

"I thought maybe I dreamed the whole thing about yesterday. I guess I didn't."

"Nope you were a girl yesterday and woke up one today."

"I guess," Billy said, still confused about what he was doing.

"What do you want to do now?"

"Let's make the bed so mom don't have to do it."

"What?" Amanda had to take another look to see if the person she thought was in the room was actually her brother.

"She does a lot and we can do that for her, right?"

"Yeah, but you never made your bed a day in your life."

"Well today is a new day and I feel like being different for once."

"You are definitely being different." Amanda laughed as she saw her brother was still in the nighty.

"Well if we get that done and then maybe we can make breakfast and surprise mom and dad."

"Okay, but who are you?"

"Don't be silly."

Billy and Amanda made the bed the best way that they could. It wasn't the job that mom would of done but it was real close. The children put their dolls on the bed, near the pillows.

"See that was easy," Billy said proudly.

"I know, Julie usually helps me with it."

"Oh, I guess I was the only one not making her bed."

Amanda laughed.

"What's so funny."

"You called yourself a her."

"You know what I meant, gees."

"I just thought it was funny, that's all."

"Let's go downstairs and make mom and dad breakfast before they wake up. Okay?"

"All right, don't be such a grump."

Billy figured he had enough of arguing of little things and walked out of the room and downstairs. He heard the television on in the living room and even though he figured it was Julie, he checked in anyway.

"Mom," Billy was surprised that his mother was up so early on a Sunday.

"Yes," mom replied and smiled at the two children standing in the doorway.

"Why are you up so early, everything okay?"

"Everything is fine, your dad decided to go fishing today and I had to get things ready for him."

"You mean he went and didn't take me?" Billy looked down at his feet, knowing that his dad was still punishing him.

"Well he just wanted some alone time I think. Don't worry I am sure he will take you the next time he goes."

"Yeah, I guess."

"Come here," Mom said and opened her arms so her child could sit on her lap. Billy was more then happy to plop himself down and be embraced by his mother. He even enjoyed it when she teased his hair with her fingers.

"I guess I really did bad, huh?" Billy asked quietly.

"Why do you say that?"

"Because dad is mad at me because I want to be a girl instead of a boy. Maybe I should of just not said anything. I think I'll go and change into my clothes."

"Let me ask you something first, then we will see what you do today."

"Okay," Billy said as he squirmed a little on his mother's lap.

"What would you like to do today? What would you do if no matter what everyone would be happy with what you chose"?

"Honest?"

"Yes, be honest."

"I would like to still do girl things and see if I really like it as much as I did yesterday."

"Then why don't you do that, your dad won't be hope until dinner time. At that time we will see where we go, okay?"

"Okay." Billy smiled and gave his mom a kiss on the cheek.

"So miss Billy, what do you want to do today?"

"Well me and Amanda was going to make you breakfast, if you didn't already have some."

"I didn't," Mom said with a smile, "but how about we all do it together. We can make pancakes."

"Chocolate chip pancakes," Billy said eagerly.

"Sure, that sounds like a great idea."

"Thanks mommy."

"Come on, lets go." Amanda was getting impatient and pulled her brother's arm. She skipped off into the kitchen and Billy thought it looked like fun. He started to skip with his sister as mom looked on and laughed.

Mom joined her two youngest children in the kitchen and took out the needed supplies. She let Billy crack the eggs and put them in with the batter. Mom let Amanda stir in the other ingredients and Billy stirred the mixture with a hand beater. With a little bit of mess, the mixture was ready to be placed on the skillet. Mom handled the actual cooking, not wanting the children to get burned on the stove. While mom made the pancakes she marveled how the two children cleaned up the mess, especially her son.

As Billy placed the dishes on the table, Julie walked into the kitchen. She looked on in shocked as she saw the two nearly naked children setting the table. It was the first time she saw her brother wear anything but boy clothes.

"I missed a lot," Julie said as she grabbed the maple syrup from the refrigerator.

"Your brother is going to see how being a girl is like today."

"Cool, it's about time."

"Huh?" Billy said in confusion.

"I told you how you were when you were little."

"So?"

"Well, I've waited for years for my little sister to return."

"I'm your little sister," Amanda chimed in.

"And so is Billy. Well at least for today." Julie gave her brother a peck on the cheek and patted him on his bottom.

The group sat down and enjoyed a family breakfast together. For the first time in a long time Billy didn't feel uncomfortable around his sisters. The feeling of comfort seemed odd to Billy, considering what he was wearing. Soon he forgot all about his self-consciousness and enjoyed a light hearted breakfast with his family. The morning meal was filled with laughter and love and Billy wondered why this didn't happen everyday. Probably because he was so busy worrying about getting outside to play in a game he wasn't thrilled to be playing.

After everyone finished eating, Amanda and Billy cleared off the table. Billy even wiped the table with a paper towel.

"Julie," Mom said, "would you stay behind and help me wash the dishes. I want to talk to you and this will let Amanda and Billy play, they've done so much already."

Billy got the idea and took Amanda's hand and ran up to her room. They sat in the middle of the rug with there legs spread apart and feet touching. Amanda taught Billy how to play patty-cake and taught him the rhymes that went along with it. Billy picked it up quickly and soon laughter filled another room.

"You know what?" Amanda asked her brother after they finished another rhyme.

"What?"

"You haven't looked at my cunny once today."

"So, I don't want to look."

"I know why," Amanda teased.

"Why?"

"Because you are a girl under your skin and girls don't need to look at other girls."

"Maybe, I don't know."

"I think it's cool that I have another sister."

"You know what, I think it's cool being your sister. I wish I could be your sister for the rest of my life."

Amanda jumped on her brother, hugging him with such force that he fell backwards. That didn't make him end the embrace though, he gave his sister a peck on her lips and silently wished that he had chose this life a long time ago.

"Cut that out you two," Julie said as she walked in on her siblings.

"What did mom want to talk about?" Billy asked.

"You of course silly."

"And," Billy wanted more information.

"That is between her and me. Mom did want me to help you get ready for your day though. So jump into the bath you two."

"Okay," Billy said and then went into the bathroom. He ran warm water into the tub and added two capfulls of Amanda's bubble bath. He always enjoyed the smell of it and now he would get the chance to use it himself. When the tub was sufficiently full he took off his nighty as his sisters looked on. He looked down and noticed how his anatomy was so wrong for how he felt. A week ago he was so upset because he wasn't well endowed in that area and now he wished it would vanish all together.

"Come on, get in the tub, maybe the bubbles will eat it off," Julie teased.

"I wish."

"You really do, don't you."

Billy nodded and then stepped in the tub and joined his younger sister for a bath. They soaped up well and helped with each others back. They had some fun with the bubbles and then Julie helped them wash their hair. Usually Billy was allowed to wash himself and since he used cheap shampoo he was allowed to go to town. But since it was his first day as a girl, Julie used the expensive shampoo and mom would have a fit if he used half the bottle in one use. After they were done, she left her younger siblings to get dried as she got their clothes ready.

Julie laughed as the two children walked into the bedroom stark naked. She also noted to herself that after his bath you couldn't see Billy's privates. She doused them with baby powder and then led Billy back into the bathroom, knowing that Amanda could dress herself.

"Okay, are you sure you want to be a girl today?"

"Yes I am, I really am." Billy smiled.

"Good, because we are going to make you pretty."

"Good."

"Put these on first," Julie handed her brother a pink pair of panties.

Billy slowly slid them up his legs, he wondered why they felt so much better then his usual underwear. He looked down and once again any hint that he had a penis disappeared under the soft cloth.

"Now sit on the bowl so I can put these on," Julie showed him two balled up pieces of material.

Billy sat on fuzzy toilet seat lid and lifted his foot so Julie could help him. She rolled up the stocking so that it came to the middle of his thigh, she did the same thing with his other leg. Billy smiled as he saw the rose print on the stockings.

"How is that?" Julie asked.

"They feel wonderful," Billy thought that honesty was his best choice at the moment.

"See what you've been missing out on."

"Yeah."

"Now stand up," Julie instructed.

Billy stood up and Julie placed his arms through a blue denim dress that he would wear for the day. Julie buttoned the seven brass buttons and made sure the dress flowed correctly.

"No shirt for underneath?" Billy asked.

"You're too young to have anything underneath to cover." Julie laughed.

"I just remember you wearing one under your dress."

"Don't worry, this covers everything nicely. How do you like it?"

"I like it a lot. It's great for just hanging around the house."

"Yeah, it's not like your going on a date or nothing."

Billy smiled as he saw himself in the mirror. He liked the little embroider flowers at the hem of his dress. He spun around and enjoyed the slight breeze that teased his thighs. He then put on a pair of blue canvas sneakers to complete his outfit.

Billy walked into Amanda's room. His mom and his sister were eagerly waiting his debut. They applauded as he made his entrance. Billy acted like he was a model and walked with his head held high and did a little turn. As he stood before his mother he curtsied.

"You look beautiful," Mom exclaimed.

Billy blushed and then gave his mom a hug. He was happy that he could live out his wish, even if it was for only a little while.

"Why don't you girls go outside," mom said. "It's a lovely day and the yard is a safe place with its high fence."

"Yes mommy," Billy said and then walked hand in hand with his sisters outside.

"It's still hot," Amanda said as she decided to sit on a shaded porch swing.

"Well I'm going to get some sun on my face," Julie said as she sat on a lawn chair in the middle of the yard.

Billy decided to sit with his older sister for a while. He hadn't spent much time with her since she went to junior high school.

"So what do you think about the dress?" Julie never did bother to dance around issues.

"I think it is real pretty." Billy smiled at his sister.

"Yeah, but how does it all feel?"

"It feels comfy and kind of normal I guess."

"Good, it's nice having two sisters again."

"Can I ask you something," Billy said while he was trying to figure out what his sister meant.

"Sure you can."

"Am I weird?"

"You mean right now, wearing a dress?"

"Yeah."

"I don't think it's weird at all. I think all the time you dressed like a boy, now that was weird."

"My friends saw me yesterday and called me names though."

"That's because they only know Billy the boy. But they never met Billy the girl before. They were probably scared of you.

"Scared? Ha! They are all twice as big as me and could beat me up easy."

"Boys get scared around girls at that age, it happened to me too."

"Dad doesn't like it much either, I think."

"Dad will just need time to accept that your a girl, that's all. But give him some time and he'll love you just like us."

"So you don't think it's weird that I've been wishing I was a girl all this time?"

"No, I think it is about time you admitted it. You don't know how long I've waited."

"How long have you been waiting then?"

"Too long, but you are getting back to your normal self so I am happy. Want me to do your nails?"

"My nails?"

"Yeah, I got pink or red nail polish. You choose."

"Pink, I like pink better."

"Okay," Julie said and then pulled out a bottle of nail polish from her pocket. Billy laid his hand on the table and let his sister do his nails. Julie used extra care to do the nails perfectly, they both agreed that it was a top notch job.

"Your mom said you would be out here," A voice called from the sliding door leading to the yard.

Billy quickly turned around and saw his friend Glenn standing there. "Oh my God," Billy said.

"Amanda I think we should leave these two alone to talk," Julie told her youngest sister and brought her inside.

"What are you going here?" Billy asked.

"I wanted to see you."

"Um," Billy couldn't come up with an excuse as to why he was in girls clothing again.

"Don't worry I won't tell anyone. Nobody knows I am here."

"What do you want," Billy stood up and closed the door so no one inside could hear their conversation.

"Just to talk. Can't I come by just to talk?"

"Yeah, I guess. I just feel weird you being here and me being dressed like this. It's because," Billy started to go into an excuse.

"I know," Glenn cut him off. "It is because your dad dared you and he is going to buy you something that isn't coming out for like a year."

"Yeah."

"Well you look real pretty in that dress."

"Why do you keep saying that, I feel humiliated enough."

"I'm not trying to humiliate you, I'm being honest."

"Really?" Billy was now more confused then ever.

"Yes I really think you are pretty. Okay?"

Billy blushed, realizing that he was actually receiving a complement and not being made fun of. "But why do you keep telling me that? You said it yesterday too."

"This way you know that I like you."

"Oh I didn't know." Billy thought that maybe his friend was gay. It didn't bother him or anything, he just didn't think that any of his friends could be that way.

"Do you remember when you were four and lived in Kansas and I lived across the street from you. We use to play all the time and I had such a big crush on you."

"Not really."

"Well I did, and then you went into the hospital and came out completely different. Then we was just friends and both out families moved here but you didn't come out a lot for like a long time."

"I know I stayed in a lot because I use to get sick a lot."

"Well, I thought my crush went away. But, you were in my class this year when your parents quit home-schooling you

and the crush came back. I didn't mean it too, but it did. Now your back to normal and I thought maybe I would tell you before things changed again."

"Why do people keep saying this is normal?"

"Don't you feel good like that. I mean you really look good like that."

"Yeah, I guess."

"I like you like this. Like a girl."

"I like you too." Billy felt weird saying that to a boy, but it was the truth. Butterflies began to build in his stomach as he realized that he also had a crush on Glenn.

Glenn slowly reached out and took Billy by the hand. Billy didn't flinch or pull away, in fact he enjoyed having his hand held and he was led to a corner of the yard. Billy gazed into Glenn's eyes and warmth and nervousness took control of his body.

"Would you like to be my girl friend?" Glenn said after the two stared into each others eyes for a while."

"What would the guys say?"

"I don't care about what they'll say, just what you say."

"I think I would like that very much." Billy choked on the words as his mouth got increasingly dry.

"I want to do something that I've never done before," Glenn said as he looked at Billy.

"What?"

"This," Glenn slowly leaned in and parted his lips. He gently placed his lips on Billy's and the two shared in each others first kiss. Billy's first instinct was to pull away, but the feeling was to good to do that. He allowed the kiss to go on as long as Glenn was willing to let it.

"Wow," Billy said as Glenn's lips departed his. His face was completely red and it felt as if he was walking on air.

"That was real cool," Glenn said and then hugged Billy around the waist. Billy buried his head into his friend's chest and enjoyed the closeness. He felt a new kind of love, that was mysterious, frightening and wonderful all at the same time.

"So, I'm your girlfriend now?"

"Yes," Glenn said and then smiled.

"Will you tell your mom about it or is it a secret?"

"I'm definitely telling my mom, she will be thrilled."

"She will?"

"Yeah she will. She was so happy when I told her you were in a bathing suit yesterday and that you were still cute as all get out."

"Wow, my dad got mad when I told him I wanted to be a girl."

"Well this time don't let him change you back, I love you."

"Okay," Billy was wondering how much of his life he didn't remember.

"I got to go and help my mom today, can I come over later or tomorrow?"

"Come over tomorrow. I don't know how my dad is going to react to everything."

"Okay," Glenn said and looked back into Billy's eyes. He couldn't help but to kiss Billy again, this time a little firmer as he held Billy's hips.

Billy watched as his friend walked away. He almost fainted at receiving a second kiss. He never felt this way in his life, but he definitely liked it. After he heard the front door close Billy went back inside.

"What the fuck are you doing," Billy heard his dad call from the living room.

"Nothing, honest." Billy spun around as he saw his dad walk towards him in a huff.

"Take that shit off right now or you will get the beating of your life. Your little game has gone on far enough."

"It's not a game and I don't want to change."

Billy didn't see the back of his father's hand come at him, but felt its impact as he was dropped to the floor. "Don't be defiant."

"I'm not," Billy started crying.

"Go upstairs and change into regular clothes right now," dad unhooked his belt and removed it from his jeans.

"This is regular clothes."

"I didn't raise you to be some kind of fagot." Dad pulled his arm back, ready to strike the young child that was curled into a ball against the wall."

"No you don't," mom said loudly as she jumped in front of her child. Her two other daughters watched from the stairs.

"What the fuck have you done to him?"

"I haven't done anything, it was his choice and you have to let him be."

"No I don't. You promised me a son, remember? And here he is and you are turning him into some sort of prissy sissy girl."

"You knew a long time ago that he was also a girl. We took him to specialist and everything and they all agreed that he would someday chose for himself."

"Filled his head with lies, that's what they did. That's what you did too. And now you are going back on your word. He's my only chance at a son, remember you had your tubes tied after we decided he would be my son. Everything was going fine, he was doing perfectly fine as a boy. Now look you ruined him."

"I didn't ruin anything. You're drunk. You know full well it wasn't our decision to make him a boy or a girl. You knew ultimately it would have to be his choice."

"More lies, I don't have to listen to this. I'm leaving, have your house full of girls, I'm going to a motel."

"Then go, and sober up while you are out of this."

"And just remember this, you, you, you freak," Dad addressed Billy. "You are breaking up the family by acting like a girl, I hope you are happy."

Billy started to bawl as his dad left, slamming the door behind him. Billy heard the tires squeak as his dad pulled out of the driveway in great haste.

"He didn't mean it, he just drank to much today. He will sleep it off and everything will be okay pumpkin."

Billy didn't listen, he just kept on crying. He wanted to believe what his mom was telling him, but the truth seemed much different then the story that she was telling.

"Come on baby, let's go upstairs." Mom bent down and lifted the child. Even though he was nine, he was still light enough for her to handle. She carried the sobbing child to his room and laid him on the bed.

"I didn't mean for him to get mad at me," Billy said.

"Don't mind him, he just had too much to drink today, that's all."

"He didn't have too much to drink before he left to go fishing this morning."

"No, but did you really want to go fishing with him? You always complain how boring it is."

"But at least he isn't so sick of me that he brings me with him."

"He will get over it, just give him a little time."

"But, am I doing something wrong that he hates me?"

"Listen to me very carefully. Your dad does not hate you, he loves you very much. This is just something he has a hard time dealing with, he will come around though."

"But he doesn't seem to like it that much."

"At the moment, no he doesn't. But he is just stubborn sometimes. If you give him a chance he will learn to love you as a girl."

"Maybe I should just go back to how I was, maybe I should just put on my clothes."

"Is that what you want to do? Or is it something you think your dad wants you to do?"

"I don't know, I just feel so weird. I mean I really feel comfortable like this and I don't know why."

"Could it be because you are really a girl and that is why you have been wishing that for so long."

"I don't know, I think so. I mean it is really nice to look pretty and it's like I feel different inside. It's like I been playing a movie part and now I am being myself. Does that sound weird?"

"No, not at all. It sounds like you are figuring out your true self."

"Glenn likes me like this too. I guess I always acted a little girly to him and he knew."

"Perhaps." Mom gave a sly smile like she knew something he didn't.

"I kissed him," Billy admitted.

"I know, I was watching from upstairs."

"You mean you're not mad?"

"No, why would I be mad?"

"Because I did something gay."

"A girl kissing a boy isn't something gay silly. I bet all the boys want to kiss you."

Billy blushed, "Mom, quit." Billy finally laughed.

"There's my girl, all smiles."

"I like being your girl, I wish I could stay this way forever."

"So why don't you?"

"People would say things, won't they?"

"They will say there goes the prettiest girl in the world."

"Mom, maybe I can just stay like this for the rest of the night and then pick."

"Certainly, I didn't think you would make a decision like that right away."

"Thanks mommy," Billy said and then gave his mom a peck on the cheek.

"Your welcome princess."

Billy smiled and then went into the bathroom to wash his tear stained eyes. After Billy ate lunch he spent the rest of the afternoon outside with his sisters and had a great time with them. When it was time for dinner, Billy helped his mom with the salad and patting the chop meat into hamburger sized patties.

After dinner, Billy put on a nighty, this one wasn't see through like the one he wore the previous evening. He and his sisters went to the back yard to look at the stars before going to bed. At around Nine, Billy went into Julie's room and got into bed. His sister joined him, and stroked his hair as he fell asleep. He wondered if anything felt better then having someone tell you how happy they are to know you as you drifted off to sleep.

A lot has happened in this part. Some good, some bad, some silly, some serious. I have a definite direction that I am taking the story. There are allusions of things to come, see if you can pick up on them. Please leave feedback.
