Time Effects

by Jennifer White

Larry rechecked the circuit board. Everything looked good. The preliminary tests had all worked flawlessly, and now that he had increased the buffer size, it could be tested with a larger object.

Larry had been working on the machine for years. After the initial disappointments and failures, he had steadily made progress. And now, he had a functional time machine. Something out of science fiction books he had read as a child. A time machine.

He remembered his first successful experiment, when he took a coffee cup, and sent it an hour into the future. When the designated time arrived, he watched as the cup materialized on the desk in front of him. It *worked*.

Of course, there were many problems yet to be solved. If he moved another object into the same space, and repeated the experiment, the coffee cup tried to materialize, but because there was another object in the way, it came out all deformed. He would have to solve this problem, if he was to send a living being through the time portal. Himself.

Larry came up with a way to test the target environment, and make adjustments to where the object was to materialize. But this meant that a series of complex calculations had to be run before anything was sent. But for safety reasons, it was worthwhile.

And then there were the energy demands. He could only afford to run the machine once a month, because of the tremendous amount of energy needed. It took weeks to fully charge, then would spend all that energy in moment, as it opened the time portal.

But now, all was set for his final test. He was about to send *himself*. He had tested on laboratory mice, and they appeared unharmed by the machine. He had also perfected the technique of sending something back in time, then returning it to the present. So now was the time to send himself off to do something he had always wanted to do: meet his father.

Larry's father had passed away while he was still in his mother's womb. She had raised him herself, and done a wonderful job. But he always regretted not knowing his dad. So if he was going to send himself back in time, he would go to a time when his father was still alive. Larry set the dials, and waited for the calculations to run.

Larry stepped into the chamber. The timer counted down from 2 minutes. He took a deep breath. He was about to travel through time. He heard a hum as the machine fired up. There was a blinding white glow, and the next thing he knew, he was standing on a street corner. A car drove by, a 1957 thunderbird. Then another car from the 50s. Then another.

He looked up the street at the trolley going down the tracks. That had been shut down in the 60s. There was only one possible explanation: he was in 1957! It had worked! The air smelled a little smoggier, the trees lining main street were a little smaller, but this was definitely his town. In the past.

Larry knew where he was going to. His mother had told him that after work, his father would hand out with his buddies for a drink at Marvin's pool hall. He walked through the door, and squinted until his eyes became used to the dim light.

There, at a table was his dad. His dad! In the flesh! He had dreamed of this moment for ages. He had gone through what he would say a million times in his head. But he knew he had to be careful. If he said 'I'm your son from the future', his dad would have thought he was crazy. So he would just pretend to be a friendly stranger.

"Hey, you're Phil, from National Corp, aren't you?" he said, walking over.

"Yes I am. Do I know you?" replied his father.

"We met once, a few years back" said Larry.

And so started a lively conversation. They ended up really bonding, and they talked for hours. Larry was overjoyed. This was a dream come true. A chance to talk to his dad, and bond with him. The one thing that had been missing from his life all along. They shared drinks together, relaxed and talked.

Larry's dad looked at his watch, and shook his head.

"I'm late. My wife will be upset if I'm not home soon."

"I understand. Have a good day Phil. It was nice to meet you" said Larry.

"Same here. Hope to see you around again."

Larry walked out, and saw the setting sun. He ducked into an alley, so nobody would see him disappear, as he returned back to the present. He pushed the button on the small handheld device, and in a moment, with just a flash of light, he was gone.

Larry blinked. He was back home. The experiment had been a success.

"Yes!" he said.

But that was when he noticed. His voice wasn't his own. It sounded like the voice of a *girl*. He looked down at himself. He saw the soft supple mounds of two breasts pushing out under his shirt. He saw his slim tummy, and wide hips. And he saw his skirt.

Larry reached down, and touched himself between the legs. He was a girl!

How could this have happened? What went wrong? He must have done something in the past, to have changed things. Something that he changed had effected him, so that he had been born *female*. But how? He had planned everything out perfectly!

Larry noticed a purse on the table. He opened it, and looked inside. There was his drivers license. It said his name was Laurie. Under 'gender' was the letter F. He was Laurie now, a *woman*.

"No..." he said out loud. This was too much. A shock on his system. He couldn't be a woman! That couldn't be! Overwhelmed with emotion, he began to cry. The tears flowed down his pretty face. He had become female. It was too much to take.

* * *

Laurie awoke the next morning in her bed. She remembered being Larry, and everything about her life, when she had been male. Yet somehow, there were also memories of growing up as a girl. She remembered everything. She had two sets of memories. How was this possible?

Laurie went to the time machine, to try and think of what might possibly have happened to have changed the past. Larry had picked a random date, within a year of when his father passed away. April 25, 1957. What was special about that date?

She looked at the calendar, puzzled. But then something in his memories of being Laurie rose in her mind. That date was almost exactly nine months before her birthday, of January 27, 1958. Nine months before.

The day that she had traveled back in time, must have been the date that Larry was conceived by his parents! But Larry had done something to change that. What if making his father late for arriving home, meant that his parents didn't make love until the next day? Then it might have been a different sperm that got his mother pregnant. And the baby was born differently. As in female.

Laurie turned bright red. She had done this to herself. Larry had turned himself into a girl, and now he was her.

Laurie immediately began to recharge the machine. But it would take almost a month before she could go back and correct this wrong. She looked around her house. It was definitely a woman's house, with all the decorative touches. The closets were full of women's clothes. The dresser was full of panties and bras. She was a woman, and had lived as one her entire life. But she could also remember being Larry. She had to fix this! She didn't want to be a woman. She wanted to be her old self. A man.

Laurie went about the business of daily life, for the entire month while the machine recharged. She figured out what she would do to fix things. She set the machine for April 24, 1957. The day before Larry had traveled back in time. She would make sure that things were set right.

When the day finally came, Laurie got into the machine, and set the timer. In two minutes, just as before, she was transported back to the past. It was April 24, which she verified by looking at a newspaper that a paperboy was selling on the street corner.

She went over to Marvins, and waited for Phil to arrive. Right on cue, he walked in with a couple of friends. She waited until he was alone at the table, then walked over. Phil stood up to greet her.

"Ma'am" he said politely.

"Hi Phil. You don't know me, but I need to tell you something" she said.

"Sure Ma'am. How can I help you?"

"This might sound crazy, but I need to warn you. There is this guy looking for you. He's about your height, sandy blond hair, leather jacket. If you see him, stay away! He'll pretend to be friendly, but he means you harm."

"Now hold on. What's all this about?"

"I can't tell you" said Laurie. "But please listen to me. Avoid that man at all costs. Do you understand?"

"Sure Ma'am. Thanks for the warning I guess."

Laurie nodded. She wanted to go now.

"Say, you remind me of my wife, when she was much younger. Are you her cousin?"

"No" said Laurie. She stood up to go, but knocked her purse to the floor. She bent down to get it, and realized that Phil was looking down her blouse, seeing her ripe firm breasts. She couldn't help but notice that he was fully aroused. She could see him get stiff, because of his tight trousers. That made her feel very uncomfortable!

"I think I'll go home to the wife now" said Phil, who turned to leave. She had aroused him, but he was a good man, and was only interested in his wife. That was a relief. Laurie turned and left the bar. She went into the alley again, and pushed the button on the device to begin the transport back to the present. With a flash of light, she moved through the time portal, back to the present.

Now Phil had been warned to avoid Larry when he arrived. He would go home on time, and everything would be set back right. So the present should be fixed again.

But something went wrong. Laurie looked down, and now things were *worse*. Whereas before, she had breasts, now they were far larger. D-cups from the look of it. And before, she was above average, but not quite *pretty*. But now, looking in the mirror, she looked stunning. She was hot. Very hot.

And she was dressed differently. Before, she had worn conservative clothes. But now, she was dressed in a black miniskirt, knee high black leather boots with a six inch heel, and a skimpy top that exposed a lot of her cleavage. She had big hair, and wore a lot of makeup.

Laurie searched her memories. She could still remember being Larry, but she also had memories of growing up female. But this time, she had been sexy, right from the start. And she had been a huge hit with the boys. She loved boys, and it was a rare night that she didn't go home with one of them. She was almost addicted to sex.

No! How had this happened? She had fixed things! How could she had made them worse? It dawned on her that she had gotten Phil very aroused. What if....he went right home and made love then? Perhaps that meant that she was conceived *earlier* than she was supposed to have been. And again, with different circumstances, and different timing, she had been born differently.

Now she was a sexy girl, with a slutty lifestyle. She broke down and cried. This was getting worse and worse!

After Laurie dried her tears, she went upstairs for a drink. She really needed a drink. As she downed the shot of whisky, there was a knock at the door. She opened it, and in walked a man, who she knew from work. His name was Tim. And she had asked him for a date that night.

Tim walked in, shut the door behind him, and rushed over to her. He put his arms around her, and kissed her on the lips. Laurie wanted to push him away, to make this stop. But her heart started beating harder. She melted in his arms. She could feel herself getting wet already. Sex. She needed sex.

She tipped her head back, and let Tim kiss her neck, as he started feeling up her boobs.

"Take me" she said. She wanted it. And she wanted it now!

Tim led her over to the couch, and started undressing her. She almost ripped his shirt, getting it off him, so she could feel his hairy chest. A few minutes later, she was on her back, with her legs spread wide, as he thrust in, deeper and deeper.

Laurie couldn't keep the smile off her face. This is what she lived for.

* * *

The next morning, Laurie felt very upset. She was living a life, where she was a little slut, having sex with any man in sight. With Larry's memories in her, nothing could be more horrifying. But whatever remained of him inside wasn't enough to overcome her body's needs. He couldn't stop her from craving sex all the time. She was already thinking of what man she would go out with that night.

Laurie reset the machine. She had another idea. But it would have to be a month of living this way before she could go back and fix things. She dressed up in a hot red dress, with red heels. She put on her makeup, and headed out to the bar. There were lots of men out there, and she was going to get herself one.

* * *

Finally, the day arrived. Laurie had suffered so much over the past month, feeling the guilt about having so much sex. But she couldn't stop it. It really was an addiction for her. But now she would fix it. She would make sure that none of this ever happened.

Going back in time to warn Phil hadn't worked. But she could go back and warn *Larry*. If she told him not to go back, or he'd end up being female, he would be sure not to make the first visit to Phil. Then all would go back as it should be. This was a last desperate attempt, but she had thought it out.

The timer counted down, and Laurie took a deep breath. It would be weird to see Larry, her former self, in person. But she was ready. With a flash of light, Laurie was transported back in time, to the day when Larry had made his first trip.

Her eyes adjusted to the light in the basement. There was the machine, ready to go. She heard noises upstairs. Larry must be up there, getting ready to come down here to travel through time.

Laurie heard a clicking of shoes on the stairway. And she looked over to see herself from the past. But she was shocked. Instead of Larry, she was seeing Laurie!

Her head reeled. Then she realized. In timeline she was living in, she had *always* been female. The timeline when she was Larry had been lost, when she had changed the past. So this was the date that *Laurie* was going to travel back for the first time.

"You're me!" said the Laurie from the past.

"I'm traveled back here from the near future" said Laurie. "Things got messed up, and I was trying to fix them."

"What got messed up?" said Laurie from the past.

"Well, originally I was Larry. I was a man. But because of my time travels, I'm Laurie now."

"I don't remember that" said the past Laurie.

"Of course *you* don't. You never lived through that timeline. But *I* do. And I need to set things right."

"You're saying you want to do something, so that I became a man?"

"Exactly!" said Laurie, thrilled that herself from the past understood.

"No way! I love being a woman. I love men to, but I'd never want to be one."

"Please, but that's the way things should be."

"Listen, I don't care what you say. There is no way I'm going to stand here and let you turn me into a man!"

With that, the Laurie from the past pulled the top off of the time machine, reached in, and pulled out a circuit board.

"No! Stop!" said Laurie.

Her past self took the board, and smashed it to pieces on the table.

"There. Now you can't change things. Its broken, and you can't fix it."

"No!!!" said Laurie. She took out the device, and pushed the button. Nothing happened.

"Look silly, I broke the machine today. So in your future, the machine is broken too. So you can't get home. Ever. You're going to have to get used to the fact that you are who you are, and that is how you are always going to be."

"Please" said Laurie, the tears already flowing.

"I'm sorry honey, but there is no way that I was going to let you turn me into a man. And there was no way that I would *help* you do that. I'm a woman. I've always been a woman. And there is no other way."

Laurie sobbed. Her past self hugged her, to comfort her.

"Now that you're here to stay, we'll need to work things out. I'll tell everyone that you're my twin sister. My favorite doll when I grew up was Megan, remember?"

"Yes" said Laurie, who shared the same memories of growing up.

"Well, I think that's what you should use for your name. You are Megan now, and I'm Laurie."

"Megan?"

"Yes, that's you. Megan and Laurie, twin sisters."

Larry was now Megan. And he was stuck that way forever. There was no way to travel back to the time that he called the present. In fact, with the timeline he lived in, there had never *been* a Larry. He had been a girl all his life. He was stuck now, as Megan.

"Just think" said Laurie. "We're a pair of hotties, and we're identical in every way. If we dress up and go into a bar, we'll have guys all over us. They'll see two hot twins, and every single one of them will want to go to bed with us. We'll score every time."

"You're right" said Megan, whose body had responded to the thought of having sex. She was addicted, and she needed it. Now.

"Lets get dressed up, and go out."

"I get the black miniskirt and the boots" said Megan.

"No, *I* get those. You get the little black dress" replied Laurie.

"We'll have to go out and get a bunch of matching outfits. That would be hotter for the guys" said Megan.

"Good idea sis!" said Laurie.

Megan's sex drive was overwhelming, and it had taken over. All she cared about was going out right now, and finding a man. Her identical 'sister' felt the same way. They went upstairs, fixed their makeup, and got in the car.

"I'm driving" said Megan.

"No, I'm driving" said Laurie.

They laughed. They were the same person, with the same needs and wants. Only Megan could remember being a man at one time. But that didn't seem to matter as much now. She had to accept that she was a girl, and she would always be a girl. And this girl needed a man!

The car sped off into the night, heading for a hot nightclub. Both sisters would find themselves a man or two, and soon they'd be making love. Megan licked her lips. She could hardly wait.
